Traditional
Middle-Eastern Sesame Cookies
1 butter flavored margerine
1 C sesame seeds
1 1/2 C sugar
1 t vanilla
1 egg
2 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
31/4 C flour
In a mixing bowl, cream margerine and sugar. Add egg. Beat on high speed with electric mixer until smooth.

Add sesame and vanilla. Sift in all remaining dry ingerdients. Beat with mixer until dough is of pea sized particles. Form a ball with hands, kneeding the dough together.

Press into one large ungreased cookie sheet until all the dough is flat and equally even throughout the sheet.

Cut strips with a pastery cutter. Pinch the centers with finger tips to form mountains.

Makes about 6 1/2 dozen.
