The Last Day of Hope

The last day of hope
To choose between war or peace
For the love of freedom of speech
Between parents who do not meet.

To contain my dignity
I will decide to depart from thee
To a place I can escape
From my sorrows to be at ease.

It's a land of sea breeze
For your thoughts to run free
But what will become of me
When my parents and I will meet.

They will take me back to hell
From a trip I have travelled
For I have done no wrong
Now bad memories will unravel.

I wrote this poem as part of a series of paintings.  Each stanza was represented by a painting, drawing or mix.  The poem is about a young boy who cannot live with his disputing parents and as a result runs away and is worried about returning home.  This poem does not reflect me or my family life.  Don't get me wrong, I come from a loving family.  Thank God and bless us all.  Amen.
