The beaver is a national symbol for Canada. The beaver is a furry animal with a wide flat tail, that looks like a paddle. They cut down the trees with their strong front teeth, that never stop growing. Beavers build their dams with logs, twigs, that they get when they cut down trees, and pack it with mud. Beavers slap their tails on the water to warn others in their pack of danger. Beavers create small ponds by building dams in streams or brooks. They build their homes (LODGES) in these ponds. The beaver is the largest rodent in North America and in the world, besides the Capybara.
