"If love could cure, she never would have died"

Laurie put life in
her mommy's eyes
She was an earthbound angel,
but not in disguise.
Why coulnd't anyone
see her as she was
An angel sent to give
her mommy so much love.
But God had other plans
for this angel of his
He called her back home early
after only 16 years
For her heart was not perfect,
it coulnd't keep up
And though mommy and daddy
tried to have it fixed
God still called her up
to heaven to be with Jesus
and all other little angels.
He knew she was facing a lot
of pain and misery on earth
And decided to take her before
she had to face all of this
He knew her mommy wouldn't be able
to watch her angel die little by little
It would have killed her
to watch her fade away.
So taking her quickly in her
sleep seemed the best way to go
And when she woke up in heaven she
felt better than she ever did.
No more pain, no more tears, no more doctors,
just love and beautiful years
Until the day when her mommy can join
her and oh that glorious day
Will be heard all over the world.
For her mommy loved her so much,
Nothing else mattered after she died.
And waiting for God to take her is all
that is left to look forward to.
She was mommy's only child, the love of her life,
and this candle will burn forever
like the love of her mommy and daddy.
We'll love you forever,
