Lone Hearts
Sky and Hawks Story
Runaway
It had been a month since Sky had spoken to Tara. A few days after Tara and Tom had had another argument. This one resulting in him packing up and leaving. Tara had been distraught this past month. Tom had kept his word and hadn't returned. Hawk had told her the previous night that he didn't expect Tom to come back. Pride would get in the way.
Sky's eyes scanned the busy room. The entire gang was gathered in the living room. Talking amongst themselves. Sky pushed her way through the huge crowds to where Hawk and Celia stood in the far corner whispering to each other.
"What's going on?" Hawk quickly turned his at Or at least that's what it appeared they were doing amongst the chatter of all of the others in the room.
"What's happening?" Hawk quickly turned his attention towards Sky's questioning brown eyes.
"Rooks gang, I told you about them. Well he's challenged us to a fight tonight at nine O'clock. We're going to decided if we should except by voting." Hawk smiled softly at her he couldn't help himself, the more time he spent with her the more he cared for her.
Hawk stood in front of the gang, the room immediately turning silent.
"You've all heard about the challenge and now it's time to vote, all who agree with this fight raise your hands." Hawk glanced around each member of the gang noting the amount of hands which shot up into the air. He looked at Sky from the corner of his eye and saw her hand raised. He was afraid suddenly. He knew she'd demand to fight, there was nothing he could do to stop her. The last thing he wanted was for her to face Rook. He'd taken one woman from him, but he sure as hell wasn't going to take Sky. She was his and he'd make sure that everyone new it.
"Then it's settled."
"Trudy and Ebony, you stay here with Tally and Brady." Hawk briefly glanced at the four of them who each nodded.
"Any questions?" He turned his attention back towards the rest of the gang.
"Who's going to be our female representative?" Jack asked knowing Celia wouldn't be allowed because of what had happened the first time she'd fought as leader. The last time the Rook's had fought with the gang, Kara had been the lead girl, that had been her last fight.
"I've chosen Sky, that is if she wants the job." Sky's bambi eyes stared up at him, blankly. He hadn't wanted her to be part in this but if she had to be he wanted her by his side.
Sky sat on her bed, Hawk beside her. She hadn't accepted neither had she declined Hawk's offer she new it was an important position. And she was terrified of letting Hawk down.
"So what exactly would I have to do." She turned slowly to face him, her brown eyes dark with question.
"You'd have to start the fight. You'd begin by circling your opponent, then the fight starts. When one of the females fall to the floor the gangs charge at each other. A few minutes into the fight the male leaders fight. Both gangs stop and watch. When one of the men fall to the ground the one standing wins either a fight of revenge or for an area they've been fighting for."
"Do you think I'm up to it?" He herd the concern in her voice and covered her hand with his.  He wanted to lie to her and tell her she wasn't ready. He'd already prevented her from fighting twice before and he was afraid she'd go against him if he delayed her any longer. He only wished it wasn't Rook they were fighting.
"You know I do." Sky smiled joy filling her eyes. He felt something move deep inside him and couldn't help himself. He lent forwards, his mouth only inches from hers. His hand stroking down her cheek, until it cupped her chin. Lifting her head to receive his kiss. He moved forwards until his lips brushed hers. God how he wanted her. To taste her, touch her.
"Sky, Hawk ..." Flame paused at the door her eyes scanning the scene she'd just interrupted. Hawk reluctantly pulled away his eyes shooting death stares towards Flame who just smiled.  "We're ready to go." She announced and turned on her heel.
The train yard was almost deserted except for Hawks gang who were eagerly awaiting the arrival of Rook's gang. They appeared from out of the shadows Rook leading them forwards, bringing them face to face with Hawk's gang. Sky stood at the front of the gang by Hawk's side.
"So this is your new girlfriend. She's petty I'll give you that." Rooks cold gaze swept over Sky, sending shivers coursing down her spine. Hawk hated the way Rook was staring at her. Instinctively he took Sky's arm moving her against his side.
"She's none of your concern." Hawk kept his voice calm, he wanted to kill Rook partly because of Kara, but mostly because of Sky. Rook had stolen one love from him and Hawk wasn't about to let him steal another. No matter what it took he wouldn't loose Sky.
"Where's your female opponent?" Hawk's eyes burned with hatred, Sky didn't like it but she stayed silent and close to his side. There was obviously more to it than what Celia had told her and she intended to find out exactly what happened between them and this Kara.
"Glad you asked." Rook grinned his hand signalled to a girl in a black cape, who quickly moved to the front of the gang to stand beside him.
The gangs stood silently theirs eyes fixed on the woman who began to slowly unbutton her cape. Hawk gasped, so did many other members of his gang. When the woman allowed the cape to slide to the ground.
"Kara! I thought you were ..." Hawk took a step towards her then moved back to Sky's side, reluctant to leave her for even an instant. Sky stared from the tall blond girl to Hawk unsure what to think. Celia had told her Kara was dead and now here she was.
"Hello Hawk." Kara's said in that soft sweat voice, the one he never thought he'd hear again.
"I thought you loved me. How could you let me think you were dead ? And all the time you've been sleeping with the enemy." Hawk let out without thinking. It was strange Kara stood in front of him now and he didn't feel anything for her.
"That?s where you?re wrong. I never loved you. There was a time I thought I might have but then there was Rook." Kara?s grin grew wider. Her blue eyes shining in the dim moonlight.
Sky shuffled closer to Hawk, her hand closing around his.
"Are we going to start this fight or talk about old times?" Rook asked impatiently, he'd observed the looks and little touchs that had passed between Hawk and his new girl. He new that Kara wasn't as important to Hawk as she'd once been and that she wouldn't be as much of a distraction as he'd hoped.
Hawk nodded briefly to Sky he squeezed her hand then released it. Sky stepped forwards in front of both gangs. Kara stepped forwards to face her new rival, they began slowly to circle, watching and waiting. Finally they came to a halt face to face. Sky didn't take her eyes off Kara for even a second. Her heart was pounding wildly, she could hear her own breathing. There was silence now from the waiting crowd.
Before she could think Sky saw Kara moving towards her, she didn?t hesitate. Her fist flew forward striking Kara hard in her jaw. With in minutes they were punching and fighting, both gangs watched anxiously. Hawk stood in front of the others. Something wasn't right. He wanted to protect Sky, in case Kara tried anything which he was almost certain she would do.
Kara struggled with Sky pulling a knife from the back pocket of her black jeans, Sky saw the silver blade and before she could react Kara plunge it into her, tarring her skin. Blood seeped through her white T-shirt drenching it. Sky fell to the ground the pain shooting through her body. She could barley think all she was aware of was the loud screams and shouts from around her. Then Hawk's voice yelling her name.
"SKY!" Hawk was the first to reach her. He knelt beside her gently pulling her into his arms. Pressing his hand against the wound. Reluctant tears fell down Sky's flushed cheeks she hated herself for being weak, but the pain oh god the pain. She bit down to stop herself from crying out.
"What did you think you were doing?" Rook roughly jerked the knife from Kara's hand she released it without struggling. Kara's blue eyes fixed on Hawk  watching as he held Sky to him. Her satisfied smile faded, jealousy burning like fire in her deep in her darkening grey eyes.
"The cops are coming!" A tall blond haired boy from Rook's gang reported running towards the two silent gangs.
Hawk gently scooped Sky into his arms. He'd instructed her to keep applying pressure to the wound. Thankfully the boarding school wasn't far. Flame and Celia had rushed ahead to get the water and equipment Hawk might need prepared for when he and Sky arrived.
Hawk gently lay Sky on his bed nearly twenty minutes later he'd nearly ran the whole way, holding her tightly against him. His shirt now soaked with her blood.
"It's okay." He told her over and over, the old cloth he'd pressed to the wound, was now drenched with blood, Sky's blood. He shuddered hating himself for allowing her to fight, she'd only just started to trust him and now this. He new he had to see the wound. He pulled the cloth away and began to tear her shirt to just below her breasts. He pulled the material apart and stared down at the wound. He grabbed a clean cloth placing the other in a small bowl of water, which Trudy had fetched for him. He wiped the blood away cleaning the wound. It was a long, deep cut. Hawk prayed it wasn't too deep.
"This might hurt a little." He began slowly to stitch the wound. Luckily for him and the rest of the gang his mother had been a nurse and taught him many things, which were often useful to the gang. Julia had supplied them with sterile equipment to use she'd also assisted the gang showing them basic medical first aid. Sky didn't move she kept her body rigid although it was difficult. She could feel the tips of his fingers on her bare flesh. Once he'd stitched the wound he began to clean it, removing the last few traces of blood.
Sky pulled her body up resting, her back against the pile of pillows. She could feel his eyes on her watching ever movement she made.
"How are you feeling ?" Hawk asked softly his eyes meeting hers.
"Better, it doesn't hurt as much now." She saw the concern in his eyes. His face had paled and he'd changed his shirt she observed, reaching out her hand to his pale face.
"I'm so sorry Sky." He reached out his hand, his fingers stroking over her soft cheek.
"What for?"
"I shouldn't have let you fight, you ran away so you wouldn't get hurt and now look what's happened."
"Hawk I'm fine honestly. It wasn't your fault. It's just one of those things." She paused a moment then continued. "Do you mind if I ask you a question?"
"No, go ahead."
"I know Kara used to be head of the gang with you. Celia told me you loved her but she never told me what happened, jut that she died when you were fighting Rook."
"And you want to know why I thought she was dead?" Sky nodded she new she didn?t have a right but she had to know what had happened. Celia had refused to tell her any more and none of the others would. "We were going to fight Rooks gang. Kara told me that she?d had an affair with Rook she told me that it was over. Just before the fight.
"I was gutted I asked Celia to take her place as lead female in the fight with Rook. I banned Kara from going I told her we?d sort things out when I got home. She showed up at the rail way when I was fighting Rook. She got in the way and was pushed onto the tracks. The train was early that night. We didn?t see what happened. I assumed she was thrown into the river." Hawk 's eyes darkened and Sky new that he was remembering.
"Do you still love her?" She asked her eyes intently studying his.
"I thought I did. But after seeing her tonight. No I don?t love Kara." His fingers continued to caress her cheek. She was still pale he observed to pale.
Sky could feel her heart pounding erratically in her chest. It was what she?d wanted him to say and she new he wasn?t lying. Why should he?
She moved forward slightly. Her eyes fixed on his as she bent her head her lips drawn to his. He moved closer to her his mouth covering hers. She felt his tongue enter her mouth and met it with her own. She'd never felt anything like this before. The heat of him the taste of him. Sent her wild with desire.
Hawk wrapped his arms around her back, lifting her against him. God he wanted her. He'd wanted her since the first day he'd met her. He ached with need for her, but he new he couldn't act on it. She was hurt. Reluctantly he pulled his lips from hers. Breathless now, his eyes fixed on Sky's questioning ones.
"Sky I don?t think ..." She placed her finger to his lips. She wanted him now, she didn't care that she'd been hurt. Because when he touched her the pain vanished, being replaced by the strange new feelings he was stirring up from deep within her.
"Hawk I want this, I want you."
"I want you too." His lips met hers once again. His hands stroked down her back jerking the ripped material of her top over her head and throwing it to the floor.
Sky lay before him, their clothes now discarded on the floor. She shivered beneath his intent gaze. It was strange. No one had ever seen her naked before and now here she was lying on Hawks bed. His eyes on her naked body. She allowed herself to look at him then. His muscled chest, was tanned and covered with thick dark hair that narrowed at his navel. And travelled lower. Her eyes lowered fixing on his hard flesh between his strong thighs.
Hawk grinned down at her. He brought himself above her slowly. Careful not to hurt her wound. He propped himself up on his elbows, looking down at her. He bent his head, his lips pressing to her slender neck. She could feel him straining hard against her in stomach. She felt his lips move from her neck. Felt his eyes and new he was watching her.
Hawk lifted his hand, his fingers lightly stroking over her taunt nipple. He felt her quiver beneath his touch and swiftly drew back his hand. His gaze meeting hers.
"Are you okay? You do still want to don't you?" He struggled his breathing heavy.
"Yeah it's just ..." She broke off how could she tell him? What if he didn't want her?
"What?" He asked softly touching her cheek with his lips.
"I'm ..." She paused her eyes moving from his. "I'm a virgin." She bit her lip, turning her flushed face away from him. His lips curved into a smile, he forced her to face him.
"Do you want me to stop?" He asked through gritted teeth. He prayed she'd say no. He felt as if he'd die if she made him stop.
"No." She ran her hands over his strong chest, tangling her fingers in the thick dark hair. He bent his head once again his mouth closing over her nipple. Sky gasped. Tiny sensations shooting through her, she arched her back slightly. Bringing his mouth closer to her. Her fingers dived through his thick black hair holding him to her.
Hawks hands slid to her long, white thighs. His fingers searching through the nest of curls. His mouth covering hers. When his finger entered her, his thumb stroking, caressing her. He began to probe slowly in and out of her stretching her, easing her for him.
Strong waves of desire flooded her. She moaned into his mouth the sensations building stronger and stronger inside her. She cried out again and again. Her head shaking violently from side to side, her fingers digging into his shoulders. She felt her body tense felt herself grow wet and screamed his name once move, he body stilling beneath his.
His hands parted her thighs, her knees bending. He brought himself down between her thighs, willing himself to go slowly. Slowly he began to ease himself inside her. He could feel her stretching, her muscles clenching from the aftermath of her pleasure. He thought he'd die from the pleasure of it. He paused as he butted her maiden head and cursed. He stared down at her forcing a pained smile.
"This will hurt a little. Do you understand?" She nodded a bewildered expression in her eyes.  He found himself wondering how much she new about sex. He let it go unable to think.
He drew back then thrust himself deep into her ripping through the barrier. Sky squirmed beneath him desperate to escape the terrible burning pain, raw and deep in side her. She tried to pull away from him. Pushing wildly at his chest with her fisted hands. She cried out unable to stop the tears from falling down her flushed cheeks. He grabbed her wrists drawing them above her head on the pillow. He pressed his body hard against hers trapping her beneath his as he trust deeper into her. She turned her head on the pillow feeling him tense above her. Then she felt the wetness of him filling her.
"Hawk it hurts." She sobbed burying her head against his strong chest. He released her wrists, his hands stroking her long, brown hair.
"It wont for long." He promised kissing her forehead. When his breathing finally slowed.
"How do you feel?" He stared down at her a few minutes later his man hood still deep inside her.
"A little sore, it doesn't hurt much anymore."
"I'm going to pull out of you. Don't move." Slowly he began to with draw from her. She tightened her arms around his back.
"Hawk, please." She whispered softly into his ear.
"I wont hurt you." He swiftly with drew himself from her. Laying beside her on the bed, he drew her against him. Holding her tightly in his loving embrace. Sky rested her head on his strong chest closing her eyes tightly.
Sky kept her eyes closed she could hear Hawk's strong heart beat against her ear. She felt a sticky feeling between her thighs, she new she had bleed she'd seen it on Hawk the previous night and wondered if it was natural. She didn't want to ask him, neither did she want to face him. She couldn't bare it if he thought she was stupid for the way she'd reacted, after all she'd insisted he took her. She finally took a deep breath and looked up at him. Her eyes meeting his. He smiled down at her, his wonderful blue eyes fixed on her face.
"Morning." He whispered softly, pressing his lips to her forehead. Sky managed to force a smile. "Listen I'm sorry I hurt you last night, I should have ?"
"No, I wasn't your fault I hurt. I'm glad it happened.  Next time I wont bleed will I ? Only last night I saw blood on you and I can feel it between my legs." Sky felt embarrassed and Hawk new it, she hated herself for being so nadve.
"No it wont hurt and you wont bleed. It'll feel good." She smiled up at him.
"How's your chest?" Hawk asked afraid he might have hurt her the previous night. She blinked at him taking a second to assess herself.
"Okay, I think."
"Can I have a look?"
"Yeah." Why not? He'd seen her, he'd been a part of her. He removed the cover from over her and began to examine the wound closely.
"Does it hurt?" He gently ran his fingers over the reddened area.
"It's a little tender."
"The bruising should go in a few days. I want to keep an eye on it though." He pulled the cover back over her, hugging her tightly to him.

Sky walked over to her bed. Slumping down on the edge. For two days she'd kept her distance from Hawk. How could she face him? After what they did? She closed her eyes a moment. Only to open them at a light knocking on the door. She glared at the closed door willing the person to go away. When they didn't she called from them to enter praying it wasn't Hawk.
"Hey." Celia stood in the open door way, holding two mugs.
"Hi." Sky forced a smile, even though she didn't feel like smiling. Her eyes remained on Celia as she walked closer to the bed. Had Hawk sent her?
"Here I brought you a drink." Sky excepted the mug of warm co co that Celia offered her. "Thanks." Sky took a sip welcoming the warm liquid. She turned to Celia who now sat beside her.
"I know it's none of my business, so if you want to tell me so, but you and Hawk is there something wrong? I thought maybe you'd want to talk about it. " She new Celia was waiting for her to speak, but what could she say? Celia was Hawk's sister, but maybe she could be her friend. God knows she needed one.
"We were great friends. Then we slept together. It was my first time." Sky flushed as she spoke, she couldn't help it.
"Oh! And you regret it?" Celia stared at the woman before her. The woman Hawk cared about.
"No it's just ... I don't know how he feels about me. He told me he doesn't still love Kara. Has he told you anything?" Celia saw the tears glistening in her bright brown eyes. She put a comforting arm across her shoulders.
"No he hasn't said anything. But the way he is when he's with you he doesn't have to. He's been really happy since he met you Sky. He's been like a completely different person. He cares about you a lot."
"You think so?"
"Yes. Now if you wont me advice go and talk to him. For all our sakes. He's been unbearable these last few days." Sky smiled despite herself.
Hawk paused standing in front of the closed door. Sky was in there. She had to be, she hadn't come down all night. Slowly he lifted his hand to the door. He needed to talk to her. He wouldn't lose her, he couldn't.
Sky looked up at the door. "Come in." She said quietly, placing her book underneath the lamp on her bedside table. She gasped, when she  looked up again. Hawk stood in the open door way. He looked even handsomer than he had the last time she'd seen him. If that was possible. She felt her heart leaping in her chest.
"Hi." She whispered softly, her eyes meeting his.
"I've come to check your wound." He held up a bandage and a jar of cream. He wanted to demand an explanation, but he new he should wait.
Sky nodded  relieved that she hadn't yet changed for bed. She lay on the bed and pulled up her top. Hawk walked slowly to the bed. He stared down at her. His eyes falling to the span of white flesh. He lowered himself to sit on the edge of the bed. He lightly pressed his fingers to the purple bruising that surrounded the healing wound, he felt her shiver beneath his fingers and wondered at it. Slowly he began to massage the cream in to the bruise, pressing lightly to prevent causing her more pain than necessary. His fingers tingled, desperate to touch her more intimately. He forced himself to concentrate, placing a small bandage over the wound.
Sky closed her eyes at the feel of his soft fingers against her flesh. She couldn't help but recall the other night and how his fingers had made her feel. She smiled unable to help herself.
"What?" She herd Hawk's strong voice and quickly shook her head. Her smile vanishing.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Course." He secured the bandage, carefully pulling her top back over it.
"You said the other day that you still wanted me. Do you now?" He stared down at her, his eyes meeting hers.
"Honestly?" Sky nodded. "Yes more than ever." She smiled, pulling herself up against the pillows.
"Hawk I need to know something." She paused feeling his strong fingers light stroke up her arm. "Do you want me as your girlfriend or someone who you want to sleep with until someone better comes along?" She saw the pain in his eyes at her question, and she was sorry for it. But she had to know. She had too.
"I want you to be my girlfriend. I want you to be mine."
"Hawk." Sky spoke softly.
"Yeah."
"Kiss me." She grinned at him, wanting to feel his warm mouth on hers.
Hawk moved closer to her. He bent his head, his mouth closing over hers. His hands slid to her top, guiding it up over her head. He pulled back, bending his head, his mouth enclosing her bare nipple, his teeth tugging at it. She moaned softly, her back arching. He slid her long, black jeans over her slender legs. She tugged at his T-shirt yanking it over his head, dishevelling his dark hair. She felt urgent now, tugging harder at his clothes. Satisfied only when his naked body pressed against hers.
She pressed her palm against his chest feeling his heartbeat against her hand, her fingers tangling in the thick, dark hair on his chest. His hand slid between them, stroking down and down until he reach the nest of soft curls, that lay between her thighs. His fingers began probing in and out of her, his thumb stroking, teasing her until she grew wild with his touch. She cried out his name, her hips jerking, her thighs tensing, as she reached her climax.
Hawk brought himself down between her thighs. He cupped her hips in his hands, lifting her upwards. He entered her slowly, his eyes closing at the feel of her clenching muscles. When he was sure he wasn't hurting her, he thrust his full length into her.
Her hips jerked upwards meeting his every thrust. Her hands came to his shoulders, her nails clawing at them. He thrust deeper and deeper into her, until he stilled tensing above her. His head jerked back and he moaned, spilling himself inside her. He collapsed on top of her, unable to move or think. Finally he eased himself out of her, pulling her against him.
"Okay?" He asked softly against her hair.
"Yeah." She turned her head so her cheek pressed against his chest.

Sky opened her eyes to a loud pounding on the door. She stared up at Hawk, pulling the bed sheet higher to cover her breasts.  "Come in." She called pulling herself up against Hawk's chest. Flame flew into the room waving a peace of paper in her hand. She quickly handed it to Sky, not even questioning Hawk's presence.
"It's trouble Sky." She looked from Sky to Hawk "I'll leave you to it." She turned on her heel and rushed from the room, shutting the door behind her.
Sky unfolded the peace of paper, her eyes staring at a poster. Her picture in the centre, Missing written in bold, red letters above the photo. Underneath was a small peace of writing, this time written in black. She read. "Sky Fielding was last seen by Rose High on East street on the 12th April. If you have any information on her whereabouts contact your local police station immediately." Sky stared at the poster, fear filling her. She couldn't go back there. Her face was paled as she turned to Hawk.
"I can't go back there Hawk, I wont. I can't let them hurt me again."
"Hey, hush beautiful. I'm not going to let them near you. They wont hurt you again." Sky wrapped her arms around Hawk's strong shoulders, burying her face against his neck.
"I promise." He whispered kissing her forehead. He prayed he could kept his promise.
Sky slumped by the roaring fire a book placed in her lap. It was the fifth book she'd read in 3 weeks, after all what else was there to do? There were more and more posters appearing each day. Already she was confined nearly all of the time to the boarding school. She'd been to one fight since they'd first found out about the posters. Even then she'd been made to stick by Hawks side, and when he took his turn to fight, Celia had been instructed to stay by her side. She felt trapped. She new Hawk and the others cared about her, but still she just wished this whole thing was over.
"It's getting worse isn't it?" She didn't even look up, when Hawk knelt down beside her. She felt him take her hand in his.
"What?" He whispered against her cheek.
"You know what." She turned her head to face him, her eyes searching his.   "The posters are everywhere. I can't even go out with out worrying about someone recognising me.
"Maybe I should leave, go further away. While I'm here we're all in danger of getting caught." She turned her head to stare into the orange embers in the fire place. Hawk was silent beside her. She felt his hand tighten over hers. She turned her head back to look at him.
Hawk's eyes met Sky's he new then that he couldn't let her leave. If he was truthful with himself he'd known from the first time he saw her. He was in love with her. Probably had been from the beginning.
"You're wrong. Sky you can't leave." His fingers lightly caressed her cheek. "The gang, we've been through a hell of a lot a few stupid posters wont make any difference. Besides I need you. I don't know what I do if I lost you." He paused. "Sky I'm in love with you." He watched her eagerly praying she returned his love.
A smile crossed Sky's lips. She launched herself at her, her arms flying around his neck, placing light kisses on his face.
"I love you too." She whispered against his mouth. He closed his arms tightly around her back, almost as if he was afraid to let her go in case she disappeared.
Hawk stood in front of the gang. Sky by his side, Celia beside her.
"Flame and Sky you two are going to collect the food from Falcon, while me and the rest of the gang fight Danny's gang." Hawk didn't look at Sky as he spoke. He was afraid she'd argue with him. The last thing he wanted was to put her in more danger and Danny was danger. He and his entire gang were no good cheats and he had enough to worry about without watching Danny near Sky. He'd see her as new pray and Hawk didn't trust him to take no for an answer.
"The fights at 8." He allowed Celia to continue for him. "Falcon's going to be waiting at 8:30 by Bill's book store."
Celia stared at her brother for a long moment. He looked worried. Not surprising with all that was go on with Sky and all.
"Can I ask you a question." She moved closer to her brother not wanting to risk one of the others to over hear her. Even though they were alone private conversations didn't always stay private.
"Sure go ahead."
"What's the real reason you don't want Sky to be in this fight with Danny?" Hawk thought about lying to his sister but he new she wouldn't believe him if he did.
"I'm scared Celia. Sky means the world to me. And so did Kara at a time. Danny's a lot like Rook, and I'm absolutely terrified that he'll take Sky from me. Just like Rook took Kara." She saw the hurt in her brothers deep blue eyes, saw the pain. She new she couldn't make it disappear, but Sky could. Kara had done what she wanted, what would be best for her from the beginning she hadn't cared who got hurt in the process. Sky was nothing like Kara. She cared about others, she didn't care what she could get out of people.
"Hawk." She lay her hand on his sleeve. "She's not Kara. She wont hurt you. But if you keep comparing her to Kara, if you don't learn to trust her, she'll get hurt and you'll loose her." He new Celia was right, she was always right. Somehow he had to rid his mind of Kara's betrayal, after all she was nothing to him.
Flame and Sky hid behind an old skip. The street was almost black, now that the local board school kids had broken one of the two remaining street lamps in the area.
"He should be here by now, it's not like Falcon to be late." Flame glanced at her watch for the ninth time in the past five minutes. She saw Sky's knowing smile but chose to ignore it. Her eyes searching every shadow for some sign of movement.
"You really care about him don't you?" She herd Sky's whispered words and closed her eyes. She more than cared about Falcon. But to admit it, to even say it out loud would be like a knife through her heart. She had no idea how he felt about her. And for him to reject her would hurt more than anything that had already happened to her.
"He's my best friend." Was all she said out loud anyway.
Flame spun around her eyes focusing more intently on the shadows as she herd footsteps closing in on them.
"Flame, Hawk, you here?" She smiled at the familiar voice.
"Falcon." Flame whispered softly turning to Sky, her eyes sparkling with joy. She moved away from Sky and hurried out from behind the skip. She flung her arms around Falcon's shoulders breathing in the scent of him. His arms came up tightly holding her against him. God he'd missed her. He hadn't seen her for a month but it might as well have been a life time.
"Hey." He whispered into her hair. "You didn't come alone did you?"
Sky waited before coming into view. She herd the concern in his voice, she saw the reluctance in his eyes as he released his hold on Flame.
"Of course not, this is Sky, Hawk told you about her." Flame stepped away from him. She looked toward Sky who stepped out of the shadows.
"Hi, pleased to met you." Sky excepted his hand and shook it.
"Likewise, I've herd a lot about you." Even in the dark light Sky saw the vicious warning look Flame sent in her direction. Sky wondered at it. Could Flame be jealous?
"What took you so long?" He turned to look back at Flame who was still only inches away from her.
"There was a couple of fights, I had to go the long way around." Falcon explained as he handed Flame a blue rucksack.
They were near to the boarding school now. Falcon had insisted on walking them to the boarding school. Sky hurried a head a little giving them some time alone.
Sky turned out of the back streets passing a closed Texaco. She froze feeling a hand close on her shoulder, her heart accelerating in her chest. Sky took a deep breath and slowly turned around. Before her stood a tall smartly dressed police man, behind her she heard lighter foot steeps.
"Sky Fielding?" She turned towards the feminine voice and saw another uniformed officer. She was trapped. There was no way she could out run them. She wished now that she was back at the boarding school. Even though she felt trapped there, she'd longed to be there with Hawk, than here.
"Yes." She answered in almost a whisper. "I'm Sky Fielding." There was no point in denying it. What good would it do her? Her picture was plastered on every street in the city. And the out come would be the same. Delayed but the same.
"You've had a lot of people worried about you." The woman announced, escorting Sky over to the black and white police car.
"I doubt it." Sky mumbled, reluctantly climbing into the small car.
Falcon roughly grabbed Flame's arm, he pushed her against the wall, firmly cupping his hand over her mouth. Her forehead turned into a questioning frown. She didn't struggle for him to release her, she trusted him.
"There are cops over there, they've got Sky." He whispered moving his hand from her mouth. Even though Sky was in danger, Flame couldn't help but notice how close he was to her. His body was so close to hers, she new if she moved forward just an inch she would be able to feel his hard body against hers. She shook her head, clearing it.
"We've got to tell Hawk. He should be back at the boarding school by now." Falcon allowed himself to stroke a strand of auburn hair from her soft cheek, before moving back away from her.
"Thank you for bringing Sky back safe, we've missed her terribly. I really can't understand why she ran away from us." Her voice was sweet Sky observed from the kitchen. If she didn't know better she'd have mistaken her for a genuine worried parent.
"I wouldn't concern yourself, there are many reasons for teenagers to run away. It's usually because of a boyfriend. Sometimes if they've had an argument with a relative. You should try and talk to Sky find out if there's something worrying her. " The police woman explained with a smile.
Sky waited until her stepmother showed the two police officers to the door. She flew up the stairs and in to her room, ramming the golden key into the lock, and hurriedly turned it, leaving it in the lock knowing it was the only way she would stay safe from her. She slowly backed away from the door. She was terrified now, for the first time in months.
She heard the pounding feet on the stairs, the sudden banging on the door. She moved across the room towards the tall window, her eyes firmly fixed on her bed room door.
"OPEN THIS DOOR NOW!" Sky didn't move neither did she speak, she found if she said anything it would infuriate Roberta further. "YOU WILL HAVE TO COME OUT SOON !" She heard her retreating foots steps as she ran back down the long stair way. Sky slumped on her bed, she never thought she'd come back here, she'd prayed she wouldn't. But here she was, and she was alone. She closed her eyes Hawk's face flashing in her mind. She felt the warm tears sliding down her burning cheeks. Would she see Hawk again? Or would Roberta finish what she started.
"HAWK!" Flame yelled, bursting through the main entrance of the boarding school, Falcon by her side.
"What's going on?" Hawk was the first to reach them. Where was Sky? Oh god had something happened to her?
"It's Sky... she ... got taken by the ... cops." Flame panted. Exhausted from running the whole way back to the boarding school. She leaned against Falcon taking in deep breaths.
"Where?" Hawk demanded, trying to keep his voice low, but he couldn't help but think of what would happen to Sky if that witch got her hands on her.
"The Texaco on Baxton Street, just over an hour ago." Falcon announced rubbing Flame's back.
"She'll be back with them by now! We have to get her now!"
"Hawk we should wait till tomorrow." Hawk glanced at his sister knowing she was right, but he also new that Sky would be terrified he hated the thought of what could be happening to her, even now. He felt useless. He should have trusted her. He should have kept her with him, then none of this would have happened.
"It'll take almost half the day to get there, on foot." Hawk protested further.
"We can take Josh's van, it'll only take two and a half hours to get there." Falcon offered, he felt helpless unable to think of anything else he could do.
"Thanks Falcon, be hear for 7 in the morning." Celia instructed, ordering the rest of the gang to get some sleep. She looked at her brother who she new wouldn't sleep. Not until Sky was safe with him again.
"You okay?" Hawk slumped onto one of the sofa's in the main living room.
"I promised I wouldn't let them take her back there. I shouldn't have let her go with Flame. I should have kept her with me." Hawk stared up at his sister, he couldn't forgive himself if anything had happened to her.
"You can't change what's happened."
"I've lost her now anyway."
"No Hawk, tomorrow we'll bring her home. She's strong Hawk, she'll be safe until then."
"If they've hurt her, I'll kill them." Celia saw the flash of anger in Hawk's and new instantly that he would. She'd never seen him as angry as he was now. She'd even asked Falcon to hide Hawk's motor bike to ensure he didn't do anything stupid. "I've been so stupid. I love Sky more than I ever did Kara. Still I couldn't trust her. But if, no when I get her back things will be different."

Sky reluctantly opened her eyes, praying that she'd had a night mare like so many times before, She prayed Hawk would be there for her. He'd hold her tightly against him, stroking her hair and whispering that she was safe that everything was going to be okay. She new the moment she opened her eyes and glanced around the room that it hadn't been a dream it had been real.
She glanced towards the small clock on her beside table 8:20. It was Saturday Roberta would normally go shopping at 11, she doubted that she would today.
As for her father, he'd barely even looked up from the newspaper the previous night when the cops had brought her back. She'd heard him leave for work earlier that morning. He didn't care about her, the moment her mother had died he'd stopped caring about everything including her.
Slowly she pulled a creased photograph from the back pocket of her black, jeans. She held it out in front of her, staring down at the two smiling faces. Celia had taken the picture of her and Hawk only two days before. She felt reluctant tears begin to roll down her flushed cheeks falling on to the picture. "Where are you Hawk?" She whispered between sobs.  Surely if he loved her then he'd be with her now, wouldn't he? He'd promised to keep her safe, so where was he?
Slowly Sky walked down the long stair way, she delayed as long as she could looking for a way, planning to escape. But she couldn't think of anything not that she could do yet any way. She saw Roberta immediately waiting by the entrance to the living room. Sky had known she'd be there. So why did she feel so shocked, so scared?
Sky reached the bottom of the stairs taking a few steps towards her. She halted a few feet in front of Roberta.
"You took your time didn't you?" Sky felt Roberta's fists thrust into her stomach, she fell to the ground unable to help, showing her how much she'd hurt her, why? Sky wondered she'd be hit hundreds of times before why should this one hurt her more, why couldn't she hide her hurt like so many times before.
"YOU BITCH!" Sky yelled taking Roberta by surprise, she rushed to her feet, despite the pain searing through her, she forced herself to fight against it.
"What did you call me?" Sky had never stood up to her before. But then she hadn't known how to. But now Hawk had taught her, he taught her how to defend herself. How to fight, and how she didn't have to be scared any more.
"You heard me, you're a conniving bitch! Who's never going to lay another finger on me." Sky brought her fist back, and without warning she flung it into Roberta's shocked face. She watched as the woman stumbled backwards. Sky turned on her heel rushing towards the door. If she didn't run now, she wasn't sure she'd get another chance.
She quickly turned handle, allowing the door too fly open. She froze in the door way, her heart hammering in her chest. She blinked several times. Hawk stood on the door step in front of her. She let out a cry and flew into his arms. Burying her head against his chest, relief flooding through her. He closed his arms tightly about her back, his chin resting on her hair. She was safe. And he was going to make saw she stayed that way.
Reluctantly he set her slightly away from him. His blue eyes scanned hers.
"Are you okay?" She nodded unable to speak, she hadn't thought he'd come, and now here he was. She felt tears begin to well in her eyes and swiftly dismissed them. "Let's go home." He whispered, closing his hand around hers. She smiled up at him.
"You're not going anywhere." Roberta's hand tightened about Sky's arm, jerking her closer to her.
"GET OFF ME!" Sky barked snatching her arm, from Roberta's cruel grip.
"Sky you're my daughter! I only want to protect you especially from boys like him."  She tossed her head towards Hawk. Who lightly squeezed her hand making sure Sky new he was there for her.
"Your daughter am I? You beat me, every chance you got. That makes me your daughter? And you want to protect me from Hawk? From his love, because that's all he's done from the moment I met him is take care of me, helped me heal the slash's and bruises that you gave me. He's looked out for me, protected me and gave me some where safe to live and you want to protect me from that?" Sky's raised voice was attracting curious stares from the neighbours who no doubt already new what happened between them. Still Sky new that Roberta didn't want it discussed in public. What would her friends say?
"You're all I have, your fathers a drunk, and I can't have children of my own Sky. You're my only chance for a child." Roberta pleaded, but this time Sky wasn't listening to her lies she'd herd them all before.
"You deserve each other! You know what I'm glad you can't have children. No one deserves to be used as your punch bag least of all an innocent child. And if you really want what's best for me then you'll let me leave, and sign over any legal rights you have to me to Julia, a doctor I know. She'll take better care of me than you ever have." Sky had only met Julia once briefly, but even then Julia had suggested assigning her as her guardian until Sky turned 18. Roberta stared at Sky for a long moment then nodded defeated, and probably not wanting the neighbours to see more than they already had.

The journey back to the boarding school had been silent. None of the gang had asked if she'd been beaten, they'd wanted to she'd seen it on there face's. She'd also seen Hawk's threatening look which warned each of them. He'd held her in his arms protectively the whole way back. Sky hadn't protested, she'd missed him even if it had only been one night.
"Mind if I come in?" Hawk stuck his head around the door to her bedroom. Sky smiled when she saw him. He took her smile as an invitation and slowly strolled into the room, closing the door behind him.
He sat on the edge of the bed patting a spot beside him. Sky took her seat next to him.
"How are you feeling?" He gently touched his fingers to her soft cheek.
"That's not what you wanted to ask is it?" Hawk shook his head, he had no intention of lying to her.
"Did she hurt you?"
"Only my stomach, thanks to you." Sky bent her head forwards and lightly placed a soft kiss on his lips.
"I didn't do anything."
"You taught me to fight, you showed me I don't have to be scared any more." Hawk grinned at her, he'd hated the thought of her being frightened.
"How bad does your stomach hurt?" He frowned in concern.
"A little, it's mostly just bruised, why?"
"I've been thinking, maybe I could kiss it better." He grinned wickedly at her.
Sky stood slowly. Her hands went to her shoulders releasing the straps, allowing the silk night dress to fall seductively to the floor. She stepped away from it, and walked to Hawk. She pulled him to his feet. His hands sliding to the bottom of his shirt and pulling it up over his head, tossing it to the floor. Her hands sliding down his chest to the buckle on his jeans. She swiftly unbuckled it allowing his jeans to fall to the floor. Sky quickly closed the small gap between them. Twining her arms behind his neck, her breasts firmly pressing against his chest.
Hawk's mouth closed over hers. His hands stroked down her back, cupping her bottom, and lifting her to fit against him. He drew back slightly, lifting her into his arms. Sky tossed her head back laughing, as he carried her to the bed.
He sat beside her on the bed, his hands stroking over her breasts. His thumb lightly stroked over her taunt nipple, forcing a moan from Sky's throat. She arched her back, pressing herself into his palm. He replaced his thumb with his mouth. She gasped then cried out, her body jerking upwards to met his mouth.
He brought himself above her, his knee parting her legs, his hand slipping between them to touch her. He covered his mouth with his. Her lips instantly parted, welcoming his tongue. His finger entered her, his thumb stroking her. Her hips began to jerk upwards, her body squirming beneath his. Her thighs tensing. She cried out her release, her nails clawing his shoulders.
He parted her thighs wider, and swiftly trusts into her, her body welcoming him. He felt her clenching about him, driving him deeper into her.
"Wrap your legs around me." She did as he commanded, her body moving with his, meeting his every trust. She felt him tense above her, his body shudder as he spilled himself deep inside her.
Sky glared at the pale face in the small bathroom mirror before her. Her hair was knotted, she hadn't had time to brush it before rushing to the bathroom. She'd scarcely had time to get her dressing gown on before she'd left Hawk's room.
"Sky are you okay?" She herd Celia's voice on the other side of the door but didn't have time to answer. She fell to her knees, her head over the toilet, her body shuddering as she vomited. Celia peered around the door when there was no answer.
"Yeah, I just ..." Sky stood, swaying slightly, she grabbed the edge of the sink steadying herself.
"You don't look it, do you want me to fetch Hawk?"
"No!"
"Do you wanna talk to me?" Sky nodded needing to talk to someone and she trusted Celia.
They walked into Celia's small room, it was very much like Sky's only it was brightly decorated in a deep red, with pictures hanging from the walls. Hawk had once told her that Celia had decorated most of the rooms in the boarding school.
They walked over to the bed in silence and sat down. Sky wasn't sure if she should tell Celia before she spoke to Hawk but she needed to know how he'd react first.
"So what's wrong?" Straight to the point Sky thought. Celia rarely wasted time with small talk if she wanted to know something she'd usually ask.
"Promise not to tell Hawk?" Sky didn't look at her. She couldn't. Slowly she began nervously playing with the lace at the bottom of her night gown.
"If that's what you want." Sky remained silent for a long moment, finally she looked up at Celia.
"I've been ill every morning for the past two weeks, I thought it was a bug at first I know there's one going around, then I realised my period was late ?" She paused a moment then continued. "I took a test. Celia I'm pregnant. I couldn't believe it I prayed it was wrong, but I took a second one and It's definite." Sky buried her head in hands and sobbed, some how saying it out loud made it seem more real.
"It's going to be okay." Celia placed a reassuring arm around Sky's shoulders. Poor thing. She'd no idea and she new Hawk didn't either.
"Hawk'll take care of you, we all will."
"You can't tell him." Sky lifted her head tears running down her flushed cheeks.
"I wont, but you're gonna have to, you can't keep something like this a secret. Not for long. How far along are you?" Sky looked at her blankly trying to think.
"I don't know, maybe five weeks. I don't know."
"You might start showing soon. Hawk's not stupid he'll work it out, he'll be hurt that you didn't tell him."
"I know, but I don't know what to do! I don't even know if I want a baby. I haven't got a clue of what Hawk'll say. What if he thinks I'm stupid? Or that I did it deliberately to trap him? I need to work things out first."
"Okay. You can start by seeing Julia. She'll tell you exactly how far along you are. You'll need prenatal vitamins." Sky nodded in response, she hadn't even thought about seeing a doctor. "I'll come with you if you like."
"Yeah, thanks Celia." Sky forced a smile. She was glad for someone to take control.
"I'll phone her, then we'll go and see her." Try not to worry things will work out.

Hawk watched as Sky once again pushed the beans around her plate. She hadn't eaten a thing, he was desperate to ask her what was wrong. He'd ask her later when they were alone. He wasn't sure how much good it would do though. She'd been so distant lately.
Sky felt his blue eyes on her. She saw the flash of concern in them, she was thankful that they were in a room surrounded by the whole gang. She new he wouldn't ask her any questions until they were alone. And at this moment she couldn't allow herself to be alone with him, she couldn't trust herself not to burst into tears in front of him. And what good would that do? He'd still been asleep when she'd returned from Celia's room the previous morning. Still when he'd awoke she was sure he'd noticed that she'd been crying, but he hadn't asked.
Sky looked up relieved to see Celia walking across the room towards her.
"Sky, can I have a word." Hawk looked at the two of them. What was going on?
"Sure!" Sky hurried from her chair almost knocking it over as she stood. She hurried from the room Celia following her.
"I called Julia, she said she'll see you in half an hour, so come on." Celia tugged at her arm.
"What about Hawk?" Sky asked looking back into the huge dinning room, Hawk was now in conversation was Zack.
"He's busy, Rook's fight at the fair's coming up. I doubt he'll notice we've gone."
"Hi honey." Julia greeted Sky with a warm hug. She felt tears stinging her eyes. She missed her mum's hugs. "Now Celia tells me that you're pregnant." Sky nodded unable to speak. She and Celia followed Julia into the small surgery she was currently working at.
"Okay hun. If you want to go and change into a gown we'll see how far along you are." Sky agreed and hurried round the screen.
Julia lifted the gown to touch Sky's stomach. She didn't comment on the bruises that were now fading, but Sky felt she should explain. Besides she was worried that Roberta could have harmed the baby in some way.
"Roberta hit me in the stomach just over a week ago, before she signed her legal rights over to you. It hasn't harmed the baby in anyway has it?" Julia smiled down at her.
"No hun, your baby's fine." Once Julia had finished examining her and instructed her on what she should and shouldn't do, Sky thanked her and headed back to the boarding school with Celia.
Sky silently walked into her room, it was nearly one in the morning. she'd spent the rest of her day on the roof avoiding Haw. She hadn't wanted to face him. She'd made her decision now and she had to stick to it, which was easier said than done. She saw Hawk immediately looking out of the open window across the room from her. She wanted to turn around and run. But she new it wouldn't do any good, he'd heard her come in.
Slowly he turned to face her unsure what he was going to say. He new that everything depended on what happened in this room tonight.
"Hi." He said softly his blue eyes searching hers. "Sky we need to talk." He didn't hesitate he had to get straight to the point.
"I know." She agreed wondering how much he'd guessed. He couldn't know about the baby. She new that much at least. She watched as he lifted her blue rucksack on to the bed, the one she'd packed an hour after she'd arrived back from Julia's. She'd promised herself she'd leave early in the morning, she wanted just one more night with Hawk. But now she wouldn't get it.
"Why are you leaving?" He struggled to keep his voice low. Zack was asleep down the hall and he didn't want to wake her.
"I was going to say goodbye before I left." She saw the hurt and determination in his eyes and had to look away.
"Sky why? Answer my Question." He yelled failing to control his voice any longer. He took a few steeps towards her stopping when she took a step back away from her. He saw fear in her brown eyes.
"I can't talk about this now." She didn't look at him she couldn't, she reached for her rucksack and slung it over her shoulder. She hurried towards the closed door not looking back at him.
Hawk was terrified he couldn't, no he wouldn't let her walk out on him. Sky opened the door only to have Hawk's hand reach above her slamming it shut.
"I'm not going to let you go, not with out an explanation." He didn't quiet yell. He needed her to talk to him, there was something wrong he saw it in her beautiful brown eyes, he just couldn't work out what.
"LET ME PAST!" Sky yelled. She couldn't let him see the tears that were beginning to build up in her eyes. She tried desperately to open the door, but he wouldn't move his hand. She felt the unwanted tears begin to fall down her cheeks, she moved away from the door and slumped onto the bed her rucksack falling to the floor.
"Sky." He said gently, lowering himself to sit beside her. "I'm sorry I just don't wanna lose you." He slid his arm across her shoulders, drawing her against him. She turned her head against his chest, her arms wrapping about his back, sobbing harder.
"What's wrong?" He whispered softly stroking her hair. Sky jerked back away from him. She had to tell him, he deserved to know, then maybe he'd let her go. But was that really what she wanted? She stood quickly.
"Hawk I'm pregnant." She blurted out. She turned and rushed from the room, leaving her rucksack on the floor.
Hawk watched her from the door way. He'd been relieved to find out that she'd stayed in the spare room next to Celia the previous night. He'd stayed away from her for most of the day giving her the space she wanted. But now he had to see her.
"Can I come in?" Sky was started her eyes flew to the door, she wondered how long he'd been watching her for. Why hadn't she herd him?
"Yeah." She replied in almost a whisper. He looked almost as bad as she did. She new immediately that he hadn't slept the previous night. He sat next to her on the bed. She wasn't sure what she should say. She looked up but couldn't meet his gaze. "Hawk I ?"
"No." He interrupted. "Let me talk." He turned to look at her. "Sky, I love you. I don't to lose you. I'm pleased about our baby. But I need to know to know how you feel." She stared at him. He wanted there baby.
"I want this baby. But Hawk we don't have much money. How can I have it?" He pressed his palm against her cheek.
"Sky we'll manage. Me, you and the baby. I promise." He kissed her forehead. "Celia told me you went to see Julia."
"Yeah. She said the babies fine, I was worried in case Roberta had done something but she hadn't. Julia said that I'm six weeks along in my pregnancy." Sky smiled as Hawk lay his hand on her flat stomach.

Sky stared around her at the beautiful lights spread around the fair. She placed her hand on her swollen stomach. She was over eight months pregnant and here she was getting ready for a fight. And not just any fight it was Rook's gang there final fight. Both Hawk and Rook had agreed that the loser of this fight would leave the city. Sky hadn't liked the idea of moving especially now. She just prayed that Rook's gang lost. Still Hawk was right this was the right place for a fight. There were crowds of screaming teenagers and queues filling the streets. The cops would be busy here and wouldn't be able to break the fight up.
She moved closer to Hawk, who slid his arm around her waste. He hadn't wanted her to come to night. Neither had he wanted her to be the female representative in the fight but somehow he'd lost the argument.
"Okay split up, if anyone sees Rook or his gang signal, if not we meet here in 40 minutes." Hawk watched the gang quickly split in to groups of 4 or 5 and disappear into the crowds. Sky watched Flame hurry over to Falcon, who'd come to watch the fight. The two of them had become closer these past few months. Flame had even told her that they'd kissed when he brought her home the previous evening.
"How are you feeling ?" Sky turned to look up at Hawk. She smiled trying to reassure him.
"I'm fine, don't look so worried."
"Sky I don't think you should fight." He tightened his grip possessively about her waste.
"Hawk we've been through this. This is important to the gang and I want to be part of it. Tell me something Hawk. If I wasn't pregnant would you let me do this?"
"Not if I could stop you."
"Well you can't pregnant or not. I'm doing this." Hawk reluctantly agreed, he had no choice. He just hoped he wouldn't lose her or their baby.
Both gangs stood face to face in the middle of the fair, the crowd had parted, not wanting to involve themselves in the trouble, but not wanting to miss it either.
"Before we start I have something to announce." Hawk swiftly turned to face sky.
"Everyone my joint leader Sky." Hawk lifted her hand and place a small gold ring with a red heart on the band, on her finger. Sky smiled at him, she reached up pressing her lips to his.
"SKY AND HAWK!" He yelled, the gang cheered. Rook rolled his eyes.
"Let's get this over with." Rook interrupted. Kara stood silently by his side, jealousy deep in her blue eyes.
Sky stepped forwards face to face with Kara, they began to circle oblivious to everyone around them. Kara swung her fist but mist. Sky saw her chance and took it. Sky brought Kara to her knees. Rook nodded and the two changes fearfully charged each other. Finally it was Rook and Hawks turn. They stood before each other, two enemies. They began to circle just as Kara and Sky had. Hawk through the first punch, followed by another. Rook returned his punch into Hawk's chest. Finally Hawk brought Rook to the ground. Rook stood and for the first time in his life he shook Hawk's hand. "Congratulations."
"NO!" Kara screamed running towards Sky with a knife. Rook charged at her forcing the knife from her hand. He jerked Kara's arm behind her back.
"I want to know something." Hawk stood in front of his former lover. "Why?" Kara didn't waste time pretending not to understand his question.
"The night you thought I was dead, I found out I was pregnant. But I didn't know which one of you was the father. Rook was stronger than you, he offered to protect me. You offered to love me, I didn't need that then. I knew I couldn't keep the baby, and I couldn't go back to you. I arranged with Delta of the Rooks to make it look like I'd died. Then I had an abortion, I killed the baby. Rook took me in. I didn't tell him about the kid. The truth is I still love you Hawk and we should be together our baby not you and her. " Hawk laughed he couldn't stop himself.
"You know what if you'd have told me that 10/ 11 months ago I'd have taken you back, but now I don't want you I never really did. I love Sky she's everything to me. Goodbye Kara." Hawk slowly walked to Sky and took her hand in his.
"You okay?"
"Yeah."
"Bye Rook." Rook nodded.  Hawk quickly led the rest of the gang away. Heading for the boarding school.
Sky felt another sharp cramp in her stomach. This one worse than before. She clutched at her stomach.
"What's wrong." He took her hand in his. Sky gasped.
"The baby's coming. My waters have broken." Hawk stared at her for a long moment unsure what he should do. Her turned to Celia who had begun to give out orders.
"Hawk, go to the boarding school phone Julia. Zack go and get the van, me and Flame will wait with Sky. Everyone else hurry back, Get water, blankets, scissors and ice ready."
Julia stood over Sky her dark brown hair neatly placed in a bun at the nape of her neck.
"Honey, you're doing fantastic." Julia informed her, handing Celia another damp cloth to cool down Sky's forehead. Poor thing was exhausted.
"Where's Hawk?" Sky asked breathless. She needed him with her.
"He's gone to get some more ice he wont be long." Julia reassured her. Sky screamed again unable to fight the contractions.
"Don't push yet Sky."
"How long now?" Sky asked tears rolling down her flushed cheeks.
"Not long, concentrate on your breathing." Julia answered now timing Sky's contractions. Hawk paused outside his bedroom door, he was scared. He new Sky had been stressed it wasn't good for her or the baby. He also new that people died in child birth. He'd tried to make her go to a hospital but she'd refused, he didn't want anything to happen to her. He couldn't bare it if anything happened to her.
"I can see the head." Hawk yelled.
"Come on Sky, when I say give me one big push okay."
"I can't." Sky panted heavily.
"You have to. You want to see our baby don't you?" Hawk took her hand in his.
"I hate you!" She screamed.
"Now Sky." Sky heard the tiny cries as her head fell back against the pillows.
"What is it?" Sky managed to ask, panting.
"It's a girl." Julia handed the tiny baby that was now rapped in a soft blanket to her father.
"Meet our daughter Sky." Hawk said proudly handing the tiny baby to her mother. Sky stared down at the child in her arms, her and Hawk's daughter. The life that they had created. She couldn't believe it.
Julia and Celia quietly snuck out of the room, they figured that the new family needed sometime on there own before they were swamped with visitors.
Hawk smiled softly at his daughter, lightly he bent his head and kissed her on her forehead. "What are we going to call her?"
"How about Ember, it was the name of the heroine in the book I was reading the night we ? we made her." Sky flushed as she spoke.
"Perfect." Hawk lightly kissed Sky on her pale lips. Finally his life was perfect.
