**About Us**
It all started when I got a Pointed white Netherland Dwarf doe "Snowball" for Christmas about 11 years ago.  About a year after we got Snowball, a guy at my dad's work offered my brother a blue Holland Lop doe and we named her "Smokie".

When my Aunt and Uncle moved to a farm in Grass Valley, CA., about three years later,  they gave my brother a Californian buck for his birthday.  We named him Thumper.  Then for my birthday, they gave me a New Zealand doe.  We bred them a couple of times and then, unfortunately, all of the bunnies got stolen except for my NZ doe, Nala :(.

We decided to move to a different house and about a year after the move, Nala died at age 5.

At a 4-H Rabbit Project meeting, I had the opportunity to buy a cute, cuddly, little Holland Lop tort buck for $10.00.  So I bought him and named him Smokie.  Smokie turned out to be the Best of Breed Holland Lop winner at the 2001 California State Fair.

Then my brother decided he wanted a bunny, too.  So he bought Smokie's brother, a Black Holland Lop buck named Blackie.

When Smokie and Blackie were about a year old, we visited a National Holland Lop breeder's rabbitry.  We ended up buying a blue doe to breed with Smokie and Blackie.  Some of their babies started  winning "Best of" awards and our Grand Champion line of Holland Lops began.  My brother and I named our rabbitry S&B Rabbitry ("S" for Smokie and "B" for Blackie, our very first show rabbits).

I took over the rabbitry last year when my brother started college and changed the named to "Lops of Luv Rabbitry."

In March 2002, at the Happy Valley Youth Rabbit  Show in Grass Valley, CA, I saw a VERY cute 6 week old REW (Red Eyed White) Jersey Wooly doe for sale.  My mom said I could buy her and I named her Princess!!!  She won BOSB (Best Opposite Sex of Breed) at the 2002 California State Fair.

Then a few months later, at the Dixon Rabbit Show I saw a REW buck for sale and bought him.  Since then he has earned 8 GC (Grand Champion) legs.  Prince won BOB (Best of Breed) at the 2002 California State Fair.

Then I bred Prince and Princess and got 4 pointed whites!  (This is not supposed to happen, genitically, because when you breed two  REW's you get 100% REW babies). I learned that the reason the pointeds were born, instead of REWs, is...Princess (the doe) carries the Vienna gene.  Prince (the buck) carries the pointed gene.  So  because of the Vienna Gene/Pointed Gene combination, they produced pointeds.

Currently, I'm starting a REW/BEW (Red Eyed White/Blue Eyed White) line from Princess and a REW line from Prince.

So that's how I started raising and showing Holland Lops and Jersey Woolies.  My rabbitry currently has about 30 rabbits that are treated with lots of TLC and are cleaned, fed and watered daily. I really enjoy my bunnies, my breeding program and learning about genetics.
