Generalizations on the Human Kind

The Human Goal:
The human kind has been, and (with no evidence to suggest otherwise) will forever be in the futile pursuit of order. Our reality dictates chaos, and our universe is in perpetual decay. Entropy defines our being and our world. The sciences represent the rational quest for greater understanding. However, there are certain unseen realities that have, thus fair, been left unanswered. These many questions fall under the realm of religion - humanity’s answer for the unanswerable.

The Human Predicament:
Humanity is plagued by two conflicting desires: 1) the desire to be loved, to love, and to be amongst friends; and 2) the desire to be unique, to stand out in the crowed, and to be better than all the rest. For instance, the clothes we wear, the music we listen to, and the way we think are all statements that we make in order to differentiate ourselves from the masses. Conversely, we take steps to associate ourselves with other people whose own personal essence complements our own. This is not to suggest that there aren’t those amongst us that desire complete autonomy from the mass, and that there aren’t those that are willing to completely forfeit all sense of individuality in order to seamlessly fit within some social order. That is, there are extremes within the social order. Nevertheless, it is the paradox of human desire that defines human behavior and human interaction.
