Welcome to the Esquenazi Restaurant Review!
We are not professional critics.  We are just a couple of average folks who LOVE to eat!  We enjoy trying new restaurants and do so every weekend.  Through the years we have developed a system for rating restaurants and have had a lot of fun with it.  Every week or so we will rate a different restaurant.  We hope you find the information on this page useful and entertaining.
Restaurants are judged on the following areas,
listed in order of importance.

1) Food ~ Taste and quality
               ~  Presentation
2) Service
3) Value
4) Atmosphere ~ Cleanliness
                            ~ Noise level
                            ~ Decor

Look for my "Best Of" review...coming soon....
Recently I went to Hominy Grill, located at 207 Rutledge Ave. 937-0930, on the recommendation of a friend.  It was very good.  I had the Barbecued chicken sandwich with slaw.  It was delicious!  The slaw was interesting too (in a good way).  I had a very nice lunch there.  I give it a 9.0.
There is a new restaurant on the market and watch out all you other restaurants out there!  Bennett's, located at 85 South Market St., 534-1223, was outstanding.  Jerry and I had dinner there last weekend and we very much enjoyed ourselves.  Bennett's was cozy and elegant, and the service was excellent.  We started out with roasted red pepper and garlic spread on thick cut crostini.  It was very nice.  For the meals,  I had the stuffed chicken breast with house mashed potatoes, and prosciutto cream sauce, and Jerry had the pan seared grouper with sweet potato mushroom roasted corn hash with shrimp buerre blanc.  Both meals were outstanding.  The only area we can fault them is that the portions were a little small, not that we walked away hungry by any stretch of the imagination.  For dessert we had the Bennett's chocolate sampler, and it was wonderful.  This restaurant has only been open for a few weeks, and they already are able to provide a great dining experience.  I'm looking forward to seeing what Bennett's has in store for the future.  They get a 9.75.
The other night Jerry and I tried the Bull & Finch Restaurant & Pub, located at 1324 Theater Dr. in Mt. Pleasant in the town center, 884-6455.  We had a really good meal.  I had the fried breast of chicken with corn and cilantro pesto.  Folks, this was heavenly!  Jerry had the fish and chips and he also enjoyed his meal very much.  The atmosphere was nice and the service was good.  They get a 9.7.  We didn't get to sample the desserts because we ate ourselves into a stupor.  This is also why we decided to skip the movie and just go home and go to sleep.
