Part 2: The One With Just Anger

Hi again… So this is part two. I hope you weren't too lost in part one… Like the first chapter, it's above all 'bout M&C. There are still flashbacks, dreams and that sort of things but you should understand it (I hope) Don't worry if you don't really understand Monica and Chandler's reaction… it will be explain later.

***Chandler's dream***

Chandler and Monica were at what looks like their apartment.

MON (really mad): Y'know what? I don't care! Cos' I don't need ya! You think I would just be there waiting for you to have a little trust in me? You don't own me, Chandler; try to keep that in mind! I don't really remember why I'm with you since all these years… I've spoiled two years with you!

CHAN: Mon, don't take that…

The scene changes.

They're back at the scene of TOW the girl who hits Joey when Monica got mad at Chandler.

CHAN: Nah-uh! I know you! Okay? I know the thoughts that you have in the head--in your head!

MON: You don't know everything. Did you know that I'm going out with Rachel tonight instead of you? Hmm? And did you know that the only baby around here is you?! And did you know that I can't even look at you right now?! (She storms out.)

The scene fades and becomes the one in TO Hundredth.

CHAN: Oh, is this about you-you dating the nurse? Yeah, Joey already told me, and I am so-so fine. I mean, you and I we're just, y'know, we're nothing, we're goofin' around.

MON: Umm, actually I was about to tell you that I was, I was going to get out of it, but hey, if we're just goofing around then uh, maybe I will go out with him.

CHAN: Fine! Maybe I will too!

The scene changes once again to one in TOW Ross's denial, when Chandler and Monica are fighting over a chair.

CHAN: Okay, I get it. So, I get nothing! Nothing here is mine! Everything here is yours! I’ll get up in the morning put on your clothes, and head off to work!

MON: Yeah-yeah, y’know what? Yeah, that’s it-that’s it, everything will be mine! Nothing will be yours! That’s-that’s what I said! Oh come on, Chandler!

Then, we see Monica's angry face several times and it slowly becomes good memories. The scene changes into TOW All the Kips.

JOEY: All right! Man, this is unbelievable! I mean, it's great, but…

MON: I know, it's great!

She goes over and kisses Chandler.

And into TOW Everyone Finds Out.

CHAN: Okay! Okay! Okay! You win! You win!! I can't have sex with ya!

PHOE: And why not?!

CHAN: Because I'm in love with Monica!!

PHOE: You're-you're what?!

Monica comes out of the bathroom like a bolt, and Rachel and Joey both enter.

CHAN: Love her! That's right, I…LOVE…HER!!! I love her!!

They walk together and hug.

CHAN: I love you, Monica.

MON: I love you too Chandler.

They kiss.

We now can see a scene of TO on The Last Night

Monica closes the door and slowly walks into Rachel’s old and now empty room.

CHAN: (entering) Hey.

MON: She really left.

CHAN: I know.

He kisses her.

MON: Thank you.

CHAN: No problem roomie.

She turns around and hugs him.

And coming back to TOW The Girl Who Hits Joey.

CHAN: Okay, I've been doing a lot of thinking about us, y'know a lot of uhh, us thinking. And uh, well I guess there's only one-one way to do this.

He slowly and awkwardly gets down on one knee.

MON: Wait what-wh-wh-what are you doing?

CHAN: (getting out a ring box) Monica…

MON: No-no, don't-don't-don't do it!

CHAN: Will you marry me?

***Back to the reality***

Chandler wakes up crying. He now begins to realize how much he'll miss Monica… But he can't forgive her behaviour. And, even if he wanted to, now she's engaged to another man. He still doesn't know how he could have let that happen, but, after all, it was her fault. The things she has said these past three days have left a real wound in his heart. Who was he to think a woman like her could love a man like him? She's not that great, though… That's a thing he has realized this week.

No, she is great… she's just not made for him, contrary to what he was thinking these last two years… and even before: he had always have a crush on her. And now, it is finished. They'll never be together again whereas he wanted to marry her just one week ago. Who could have think things would just get so out of control?

Monica can't sleep. She just doesn't know how to get on with her life. All the things he has said or done this week… no, she has to stop thinking about him. She has to think about Richard… Was that any better? It hurts her even more to think 'bout him than to think 'bout Chandler. She can't marry him. After all, it was not her plan at the beginning; she wasn't really engaged to him…it was just to make Chandler realized. And now, she is marrying him because of a broken heart. A broken heart? Chandler doesn't deserve a broken heart. However, she couldn't help it.

It is like she isn't in real life, like she is in a stupid dream or something, in a nightmare. She has to get all these things sort out.

It is four a.m. She decides to go for a walk in the town. Maybe, it isn't so secure to do that but she doesn't care. Anything could happen to her now, she doesn't care.

It is four and a half a.m. Chandler can't return to sleep after this dream/nightmare. He has to think things over. He has to decide how he could get along with his life. He goes out of his apartment to get a walk around the town.

(We can hear "Nothing But You" in the background as Monica and Chandler walk in the night.)

Chandler knows these three last days will change all his life forever: Monica and he can't just hang out together now and that means neither of them will be able to stay with Phoebe, Joey, Rachel and Ross all the time. It will be like when Ross and Rachel fought, when they didn't want to see each other. He had problems to just continue to see both of them. It will be the same now, except that Monica is a better hostess than he is and they'd rather hang out at her place…

The worst part will be to don't have Chandler to comfort her, to not have him holding her every time she feels down… What is she thinking 'bout? She'll have Richard to do that… but Richard isn't like Chandler… oh no, he isn't at all. She sighs. She doesn't really love Richard, does she?

He was so in love with Monica! Can he just felt out off love, like that, in three days? Maybe, the things they have say to each other have hurt him so much that he'd rather say he doesn't love her anymore…

What was she thinking 'bout? Chandler is certainly not the right guy for her…but, maybe, she is just trying to convince herself, maybe, he IS her soulmate. No, he was just a good friend she fell in love with cos' she was feeling alone.
Got nothing to lose

Like every time he has a girlfriend, he manages to screw up. It isn't like he's not use to it. Now again, he is returned to the beginning… he has to find a girlfriend who can love him. He thought Monica loved him, he thought he had finally found the girlfriend he could be with…but he was wrong…

She just wants to forget all that. She is feeling so much pain! He was really able to hurt her, wasn't he? And he use that power… She just want to go back to London and not getting drunk and not sleeping with and just had him as a best friend.

And take a walk on the moon

Maybe that is his fate: stay alone for the rest of his life, never find the right girlfriend. But Monica WAS the right girlfriend… it hurts so much. Tears roll on his face. He just wants to feel her skin another time, to make her laugh, to see this smile that was just for him.

In fact, she is happy to have sleep with him cos' unlike what she told him two days ago, she has been more happy with him, for two years, than she has ever be. She begins to cry. She had never realized how lucky she was until now, when it's finished.

How could he just go on like nothing have happened? Will he be able to see Monica again after this? No, if she doesn't apologize, if they don't talk 'bout that, they won't be able to stay in the same room again.

Why don't he come to her to say he's sorry? Will that even change something? He hurt her, she can let that go without him realizing how much he was wrong. He'll have to prove he's sorry.

Maybe he still loves her. However, she's the one in the wrong. She has said too much to him.

Maybe he should just try to find someone else…

He hurt her so much. She doesn't think she could stand that another time. She doesn't think she could forget that or even that she could forgive that.

Maybe she should just try to be happy with Richard…

Both of them walk back to their apartment, Chandler sleeping on Joey and Rachel's couch and Monica sleeping alone in her big bed; both of them wishing, without admitting it because they're too proud, that the other one would be at their side.

Monica returns in her apartment. As she switches on the light, she sees Ross sitting on the couch, looking at her, angry.

MON (surprised): Ross? What are YOU doing here?

ROSS: You're surprised? You were thinking it would be…? Who? Richard?
MON: Ok, what is it with you now? What's your problem?

ROSS (mad): MY problem? What's MY problem? What 'bout you, sis?

MON: I don't know what you're talking 'bout and I don't care. I'm tired, Ross. Can't it wait tomorow?

ROSS: I think I have… WE have waited enough now!!

MON (giving up, a little angry): Ok, what is it?

ROSS: Duh! I don't know… Chandler maybe? Do you still remember who this is?

MON: What? What does HE want?

ROSS: What happened Mon? How come you're not engaged to him but to an as old as our parents man?

MON: You…you don't like Richard? Is it what all this is about?

ROSS: NO! Stop playing games with me, Monica! You know what this is all about! Three days before, you were happily in love with our best friend and you seemed happier than you have ever been. What happened with Chandler, Mon?

MON: That's not your business, Ross…
ROSS (nicely): Sure… but you're my sister and he is my best bud and I want to understand what happened. Cos' I don't think you would do that without a reason, I don't think you would hurt Chandler if nothing happened.

MON: He's hurt?

ROSS: I'm pretty sure he is. He was IN LOVE with you, Mon, like you were in love with him. And I don't think he can fall out of love so quickly. Can you?

MON (beginning to cry): No, Ross, no I can't!

Ross hugs her and gently strokes her hair. She cries on his shoulder and he looks at her, sympathetically. He nearly carries her to the couch and continues to hug her as they sit down.

ROSS: I'll always be there for you, Mon. I'm your brother and I'll never let you down. Just tell me what happened. I'll be by your side, don't worry, even if you were the one in the wrong. I'll just need to know what happened.

***Flashback***

Richard's. Monica and Chandler were fighting as Richard was sitting down, smoking. He didn't really care 'bout the fight Chandler and Monica were having. He knew he couldn't change a thing.

CHAN: I swear, Mon. It was just a plan. I was planning on proposing you yesterday but he (showing Richard) arrived and ruined it.

MON (a bit mad): Oh yeah? You, the commitment freak, were proposing to me? Why ain't we engaged then?

CHAN (hoping): You would have said yes?

MON: Not now…

Monica didn't know how she should react. Even if what he was saying was true, he really hurt her and she should have a little revenge. And after all, she didn't believe what he was saying. He surely told her now he wanted to marry her just so that he didn't loose her. Did she better continue her plan? She did. She wasn't so sure 'bout that. But cos' he was lying or cos' he hurt her…either way, she would keep her plan and saw how he managed to work things out.

CHAN: Please believe me!

Richard looked at Monica, questioning her silently. She nodded and he gave her a little smile. So, she wanted to continue her plan… He wasn't sure it was a good idea but he could do anything for her and as soon as SHE was asking him to act and follow her stupid plan, he would do it. He stood up.

RICH: Does it matter now? She's MY fiancée…

CHAN: She's WHAT? I thought it was just a threat or something…

MON: It was 'til you left me cos' you were mad and, like every other time, didn't even take the time to sort things out.

CHAN: But Mon, how can you do that? I thought we were in love.

MON (a bit mad): And how did you show me that? When you talk to me about pigs sex life?

CHAN (really mad): I TOLD U! It was a plan! And isn't it Miss I-m-engaged-to-a-man-who-isn't-even-my-boyfriend-and-who-is-my-dad's-age lecturing me?

MON: At least, I'm engaged to a man who cares about me!

CHAN (softly): I cared about you, my love.

MON: Now, you don't?

CHAN (mad): No, I don't give a damn about what can happen to you and your so great fiancé!

MON: Don't say that!

CHAN: Y'know why I don't care? It's for the same reason I don't care you're going to marry him: I don't still wanna marry you so that's fine, everyone's happy.

Chandler made a move to the door.

MON: Chandler! Don't…

CHAN: In fact, I used to thought I was really lucky to have you but you don't deserve me either!!

Then he walked out of the apartment.

***Back to the present***

MON: It's too hard, Ross. You have to understand. Y'know, I don't know why, we fight for a silly thing that became a big thing and then we begin to lie and make plans to make each other jealous and… we finished fighting.

Really tired, Monica falls asleep in her brother's arms as he watches her with sympathy, sadness and love.
