Dallas was a Golden Retriever Mix of 3years, We had saved him from a shelter 3 days before we went back to school from Spring Break in 2003. We didnt know that he was the best dog any person can have until he just jumped up into the back of the truck and layed there, my brother had gotten in the back with him and just hugged him and kissed him and he didnt do NOTHING!!! He NEVER pulled on the leash not even when he saw a little critter or somthing. The night we brought him home he sleep downstairs by the door, by the next night he was up in my bedroom, Dallas and i had a very close relationship, we bonded very well. We could walk him by the ear somtimes if we couldent find his leash, u could wrestle with him and and pull his tail and ears and he wouldent do nothing! HE loved my other little dog Dakota he is a full blooded Pomeranian and Dakota would chase Dallas around the yard it was soo funny!! Dallas loved chasing the 4-wheelers and after that he would go lay in the river to cool down. And Man did my dad HATE having Dallas in the house!!! About 3 months after we rescued him we found him all bloody on our pourch, Our nighbors had some horses he liked to watch and we thought he had gotten kicked by them, we took him to the vet and they said he was shot!!! The person had to be standing RIGHT over him when they shot him because it went right by his left hip and out by his boy part. The vet said that it didnt damage anything, well we couldent take that as a answer so we took him to another one, (2 weeks later) Thats after his leg swelled up 5 times the size, and right by his boy part there was this huge hard bump that would get bigger and bigger by the week. This vet said that it had hit a major arrtory and that it was fillin up, he put him on some medicin and told us to come back on saturday which it was Wednesday when he told us that, well Thurday I woke up to Dallas moving my hand wanting to go poddy or somthin so i took him down stairs and he just layed down on the floor, he wouldent eat ANYTHING!!! then i got him outside and the Big hard thing had gottin HUGE it was makin his boy part go the other way, he went and layed down and i started to run with the other dog and he got up and tryed but his hind in wouldent work, he just fell!!! he wasent breathing right or anything, I never want to go through seeing a dog suffer in SOO much pain IN my whole inire life!!! My mom called the Vet and i put dallas into the back of the truck, he wouldent respond to anything. I was a mess because i was the one who had takin care of him, and stayed up nights with him to make sure he was okay...When we got there they said he was in shock and that the urtery had broke inside of him, they put a tube in it and said they would call us if anything else happend, that was at 12am, At about 3 we called in to see if he was okay and they said that he was holdin him self so he was doin fine, My mom got a call at around 5:55 sayin Dallas died at 5:15 because the poisin had went through his body and was shutting down things in his body, they said he had no urin in his bladder and he NEVER compaiend ONCE!!! even though he was in ALOT of pain he never compained, He died June,19,2003 from a gun shot!!! I have never had a feeling like this before, my heart will NEVER be the same again, i look back on his pictures and vidios wishing i would have spent more time with him before he left but he loved me and i loved him (he use to stare at me for long periods of minutes) it was sooo sweet i done all i could to make him happy and i done it, he is in a better place now. Just dont let ur dog be shot because of a STUPID reason, we think we know who done it but we arent 4-sure, but this person has killed now its 3rd dog, he will pay HE WILL!!! And i hope he is happy now he has caused me so much pain!!!
