The scots singer blushed as one of the 300 fans who greeted him at a personal appearance gave him a pair of knickers to sign. He returned the signed thong to her with a smile.
It wasn't a totally new experience for Darius, 21 from Bearsden, near Glasgow, though.
He was pelted with panties as he sang the Tom Jones classic It's Not Unusual at the Pop Idol concert at Glasgow's SECC last month.
Yesterday, he was at a record store on the city to sign copies of Pop Idol- Big Band Album.
But it didnt dampen the 21-year-old Glaswegian's spirits as he promoted his new single, Colour Blind, in front of an audience of 20,000.
Darius, who first shot to fame when he failed to be selected on Tv's Pop-Stars show. got drenched when a tarpaulin meant to protect him from storms collapsed, dropping gallons of water on his head.
He jokingly told the audience at Southampton's Party in the Park: "I should be wet, because your all wet."
Then he grabbed hold of a bottle of water and threw it over his backing band so they could join the club, finishing by pouring the rest over his head.
Fan Kate Simpson, 15 said: "Darius handeled it really well. It ruined his hairstyle but he just carried in like a true professional."
Also on the bill were Pop Idol winner Will Young, Hear'say, the band created by Popstars, and Liberty X, made up of runners-up from the show.

But instead of throwing a pop star strop. Darius just laughed and chucked a bottle of water over his backing band so they'd be wet too, then poured the rest over his head.
Despite getting totally drenched, Darius had every reason to smile:
he's just signed a five-album deal with a top record company and shot a hot video in spain for his new video Colourblind.
