Promises

Piper was laying in Leo's arms the only safe place she had been in months. She was almost asleep when she was sat up quickly and
grabbed her leg in pain.
Leo sat up immediately beside her and started to rub her back.

"It's ok Piper it's gonna be ok," he said soothingly.

"Leo it hurts so much make it ok Leo," she pleaded.

*Physiotherapy starts tomorrow *

“What did you say?” she asked.
"Piper I didn't say anything" he replied.
"Yea something about Physiotherapy," she stated.
"Piper yea I thought that but I definitely didn’t say it,” he said in disbelief.
“Ok I admit it, Leo ever since we vanquished Jon I have been hearing people’s thoughts all of them,” she explained.
“oh god sweetie” he said as she laid back down.
“ Yea now you understand will you explain to me about Physio please?” SHE ASKED.
“Well when you  woke up the doctor said that you would have to go into Physio if you ever wanted to use your legs again and it might not work…” he stated.
“Leo when I was 13 and this happened the doctor said to be careful because if I ever broke my leg again like that then I would probably  not be able to walk ever again,” she said crying on his shoulder.
“Piper please it’s gonna be ok I promise,” he said.
“Just have a rest and I’ll wake you up when it’s time to go the doctor’s” he said.
“Leo?” she whispered.
“Yeah” he said.
“ Don’t tell Prue and Phoebe I don’t want them to worry about me anymore,” she said.
“ Ok,” he said.

Phoebe was just done surfing the net wondering what to do now since Leo was here she didn’t need to worry about Piper. It was almost time to take Piper to the hospital.
Pure came in a couple minutes later.
“Hey Prue,” she said.
“Hey Pheebs how was your day?” she asked.
“Boring for once” Phoebe replied.
“Mine wasn’t! That last photo shoot was a hit now my cell phone is ringing off the hook cuz people actually want me to photograph them!” Prue explained.
“That’s great Prue!” Phoebe exclaimed.
“Hey Prue about Piper.. Do you think she’s get through this?” Phoebe asked.
“Yea I do I think she will gain back her ability to walk too,” Prue said.
“ I really really hope so” Phoebe said.
“It’ll be ok Pheebs she’s a fighter!,” Prue said.

Phoebe called up the stairs to Leo and Piper that it was time to go the hospital he lifted her out of bed and took her down the stairs.
Phoebe and Prue were already waiting in the car and no one seemed to notice the pair of eyes watching them from the trees.

It was a long drive to the hospital or so it seemed.
The voices wouldn’t leave Piper’s mind.
Every single person that corssed on the street, the person beside them in car had MMM Bop stuck in their head, some people were thinking of suicide and others well you probably don’t wanna know what they were thinking! Finally they pulled into the hospital parking lot and Leo lifted Piper out of the backseat. They walked in the hospital and he gently placed her in a seat.
She leaned on his shoulder as she waited for the nurse to call her name when she did Leo and Phoebe came into the office with her while Prue went to talk to the nurse about getting more medication for Piper.
It seemed like hours until it finally ended. The doctor droned on about Piper’s leg and how the medication wasn’t having any effect by what Piper was saying about the pain she was having and that Physio started tomorrow and though he wished for the best, that it might not help her. Could he be anymore blunt? She thought.
Finally he stopped talking and  said she could go home. Leo lifted her off the chair and they went out into the hallway people passed by and the voices started coming again she couldn’t even hear Leo as he talked to her She tried covering her ears and she just shook her head On the way home the traffic was even more intense than it had been before. She couldn’t stand this for much longer and Leo could tell it by the look on her face. He whispered in her ear.
“You should tell them now,”
She leaned on his shoulder and whispered in his ear.
“If I tell them they might think things that I don’t want them to hear because they know I can hear them and they are subconsciously thinking things that they wouldn’t be thinking if no one could hear them,” Piper explained.
“Been catching up on your reading?” he asked.
“Yea” she replied.
“Hey lovebirds! No whispering it’s not nice!” Phoebe said from the passenger’s seat.

Hours later Piper was sleeping and Leo, Phoebe and Prue were getting something to eat.
“So Leo… Is Piper doing ok?” Phoebe asked.
“Yea Pheebs she was ok today” he replied taking a bite of his sandwich.
“Phoebe Prue I think I should tell you something..” he stated.
“What Leo?” Prue asked from the couch.
“It’s about Piper…” he started.
He continued to explain about what Piper had told him.
Little did they know about Piper who had woken up and was listening to every word they said.

Prue had went upstairs to check on Piper and Leo and Phoebe were still talking downstairs.
“Leo what are we supposed to do?” Phoebe asked Last time I checked you couldn’t un vanquish a demon!
“Phoebe calm down please, “Leo said. “All we have to do is take him from hell the same way we put him in switch their powers and send him back,” he explained.
“Ok soon though, “Phoebe said, “it sounds easy enough”
Little did they know it was going to be far from easy.

“The Charmed Ones and the Whitelighter are almost ready to open the portal to hell they want Jon but if we can all some how get out we will!” the demon said.
“Jon can’t go out first all the other demons have to go first or as many as possible then Jon,” he continued explaining
“We’ll be ready” they all chanted.
*
“Piper?” Prue asked seeing her sister was awake.
“Yeah Prue,” Piper replied.
“How are you?” Prue asked sitting down on the bed.
“My legs hurt like hell and I’ve got a terrible headache but I’m doing alright,” Piper said sarcasticly.
Prue smiled then sighed. “It’ll get better”
“It hurts so much, I just want it to stop,” she said.
“It’ll get better I promise,” Prue replied.
“I love you,” Piper said.
“I love you too,” Prue replied as she left the room.

As the week progressed Piper’s pain got worse and the medication wasn’t really helping. Late Friday night Piper was rushed to the hospital due to extreme pain. Phoebe rode in the ambulance holding Piper’s hand.
“Piper? Promise me now that you’ll keep trying I don’t want you to leave me. I need you and so do Prue and Leo don’t forget that” Phoebe said.
“I promise Phoebe” Piper replied.

The next few hours were long and hard all 3 were grateful when Dr.Wallace emerged from the ER. “Piper’s ok” he said.
All 3 sighed relieved.
We need to put her on some stronger medication I might let her out late tomorrow afternoon but we’ll have to see Now you 3 go home and get some rest and come back in the morning,” he said.
“Thanks Dr Wallace” Prue said and they left the hospital.

Phoebe ran up the stairs when she got in the house and into the attic.
“You guys aren’t getting any sleep tonight,” she said.
“Why?” Prue and Leo asked in unison.
“We’re casting that spell to get Piper’s power back, now” she said.
*
“Prue stop worrying it’s gonna be easy because only Jon is gonna come outt then we can send him back to where ever he came from,” Phoebe explained.
“But what if he tries to hurt Piper again?” Prue asked.
“He won’t Prue I’ll be sitting with Piper I won’t let him touch her” Leo said.
“Ok well it’s been a few hours maybe we should get some sleep, we’ve got everything we need to cast the spell except Piper so we can do it tomorrow when she gets home,”Prue said.
All 3 headed downstairs and went to their respective bedrooms thinking how easy it would be…

Piper woke up at 5:00 am and was surrounded by doctors and nurses.
“It’s alright,Piper,” Dr Wallace said helping her into the wheelchair. “We’ve decided that we’ll have a little physio before you go home alright?”
“Sure” she said quietly
He wheeled her into a huge room. She hated this place and she had only been in there a couple of times. Every time she was in there she hated a little bit more being in there put her in a terrible mood. No one should ever have to go in here.A guy came and helped her on to a bed.
“I’m not a sack of potatoes you idiot,” she said.
A couple minutes later a nurse came around and gave her some instructions on what exercises she should do. She tried…. And tired…. And tired….. She kept trying until finally Dr. Wallace came back.
“I can’t do it” she said almost in tears.
“It’s ok Piper we’ll try again in a couple of days,” he said helping her into the wheel chair. “It’s time for you to go home.”

Phoebe, Prue and Leo were sitting in Dr. Wallace’s office. They were all really nervous wondering what the outcome of physio was that morning. They heard Dr. Wallace coming down the hallway.
“Piper you wait in here I’ve got to talk to Phoebe and Prue for a second,” he said and he left Piper just outside his office.
Leo got up from his seat and went to wait with Piper.

Leo sat in the chair beside Piper outside the office. When he went to hold her hand she pulled away, when he asked her if she wanted to talk she shook her head, when he went to kiss her she turned her head.
“Piper what’s wrong?” he asked.
“I’m not getting any better Leo, Dr Wallace is in there telling Phoebe and Prue that the physio isn’t working we’ve been trying the same excersise for the past week and I still can’t do it! “ she explained
“How do you know? He could be telling them that you need to come In more,” he said.
“Leo I heard him rehearsing the conversation in his head.” Piper replied.
“It’s gonna be alright,” he said.
“No Leo I can’t be with you anymore,” Piper said quietly.
“Piper what? But I love you,” he replied stunned.
“No Leo you don’t love me you love someone who doesn’t exist anymore I can’t walk I can’t stand anymore I can hardly do anything,” Piper explained.
“Piper I don’t care about that you’re still the same to me still as beautiful” he said tucking the hair that had fell on her face behind her ear.
“No Leo come on just touch my leg come on you would before,” she said.
He placed his hand on her leg than pulled away.
“You know what the difference it now?” she asked.
“What is it Piper? I don’t see the difference!” he said
“Before I could feel it!” she stated and looked away. “It is different isn’t it??”

“So we’ll try a couple more times but I don’t know if it’s going to help,” Dr Wallace finished.
“Thanks Dr. Wallace for telling us we’ll tell Piper,” Prue said.
Phoebe and Prue stood up and left the office.
The went out and found Piper almost in tears and Leo sitting there in total silence.
“Come on honey it’s time to go home for a little while,”  Phoebe said.
Leo went to lift Piper out of the wheel chair.
“It’s alright I can do it myself,” she said and wheeled herself to the car.

Prue, Phoebe and Leo explained the situation to piper on the way home. Every once in a while she would nod her head but other than that she wasn’t really showing any interest in what they were saying.
“So Piper does that sound like a plan?” Prue asked.
Piper nodded her head.
“Come on Piper! You’ll have to talk to us sooner or later,” Phoebe said.
Piper shook her head.
As soon as they got home they went to the basement figuring that might be the best place to cast the spell since that was the original place where everything happened.
Phoebe and Prue chanted but Piper just sat there. It was a good thing this spell didn’t need the Power Of Three.
The vortex slowly opened the foot came out but when the rest of the body appeared it didn’t look anything like Jon.
The next guy came out which looked nothing like Jon either slowly many more came out but Phoebe and Prue didn’t know how to close the portal they figured the only person that could get out was the person they were calling.
They were dead wrong.
20 demons later Jon came out of the vortex…
“HONEY I’M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Leo ran over and sat by Piper as soon as Jon stepped out  of the vortex.
“Oh honey don’t look so sad we’ll be together soon, Jon said looking at Piper. You have a fabulous power, darling.
Leo wrapped his arms around Piper and the familiar blue light surrounded them and they orbed into Piper’s room.
“Piper I need you to stay here, I want you to be safe, Leo said. I Love you Piper”
“Please talk to me Piper before I leave” Leo pleaded.
He sloyly got up from the bed and left the room.
“Leo please” Piper said. I’ll say any thing but please don’t leave me,” she pleaded ad started crying.
He felt as if he hadn’t heard her beautiful voice in days even though it had been only a couple of hours.
“I’ll be back, “ he said. “I promise”
The kissed and Leo went downstairs taking a long look at his love knowing that some promises are just made to be broken.

2 witches against 20 demons the odds didn’t look too great for the 2 Charmed ones. When Leo came down the stairs all the demons turned their attention to him.
“If I sacrifice myself would you leave these witches alone?” he asked.
“We’ll see about that whitelighter,” one of the demons said and sent a wave of laughter over the crowd.
“SHUT UP!!!!” Jon bellowed.
“We might be able to work something out but no orbing or I’ll kill all 3 of these witches quicker than you can say The Power Of Three.
“Yes,” Leo said.
“This should hold them off look enough for you guys to form a plan, tell Piper I’ll love her forever,” Leo stated and went with the group of demons.
“Leo Please don’t go, “ Phoebe said.
“I have to,” he said.

The demons dragged Leo and took him unto a warehouse where they threw him into an empty room. They decided to make Leo’s death short but painful. Jon grabbed Leo by the collar of his shirt and said,
“Piper never loved you she’ll love me forever, Jon said tauntingly.
Jon waved his hand and a demon passed him a knife.
“Have any last words?” Jon asked.
“You won’t defeat them,” Leo said.
With one swift motion Jon shoved the dagger in Leo’s back and dropped his dead body on the floor.
“He was always such a liar.”

The next few days were spent planning the demons of the Charmed Ones. It  was going to take 20 demons but they were going to do it and nothing was going to stop them…
*
Phoebe and Prue sat in the kitchen trying to figure out why the demons hadn’t been back yet. Then the subject changed to Piper who hadn’t been out of her room for more than 15 minutes in the past 3 days. She had only drank water. She hadn’t eaten anything or talked to her sisters. She just sat there… saying he’d promised he’d be back… he promised…
Prue was fed up with what was happening so well Phoebe made Piper something t eat Prue went upstairs to talk to her.
“Piper?” She said walking into the room and sitting down beside Piper.
“Please talk to me,” Prue said.
“Prue he promised,” Piper said.
“I know honey I know” Prue said hugging her.” Now come down stairs and get something to eat alright?” Prue said using her power to levitate Piper off the bed.
“No!” Piper protested and Prue slowly lowered her on the bed.
“Why?” Prue asked
“What would you do if the one thing you loved more than life it self were ripped away from you and the only thing you had to hold onto was his promise? Would you stay?” She asked.
“No,” Prue said bluntly. “I know Leo would’ve wanted you to move on with your life.
That’s when they heard the scream.

Prue ran down stairs leaving Piper in her room. She found Phoebe sprawled on the floor.
“Phoebe! Wake Up!” Prue yelled.
“Woah Prue calm down it was just a premonition a very intense premonition… Phoebe claimed.
She sat up but then was hit with another premonition then another premoniton… another…. Another… her arms started waving, she started kicking and screaming and rolling on the floor. She could hear what was going on but they only thing she could see was the hurt in the world.. the starvation, the pain, the sickness… that’s all she could feel.
Prue picked up the phone and dialed 9-1-1. The ambulance pulled in the drive way minutes later. Prue ran up stairs before she went to the hospital.
“Piper there is something wrong with Phoebe something very wrong with Phoebe and I need to help her but if I go I want you to promise me this… If I never come back you never see me again then you have to stay strong for me and for Phoebe, can you promise me that?” Prue said.
“I promise,” Piper said hugging Prue.
“Don’t forget to feed the cat!” Prue said getting up from the bed.
“I love you Prue,” Piper said.
“I love you too Piper always,” Prue replied.
Prue slowly went down the stairs. She was about to grab the dagger that she killed Brenden’s brothers with but she decided not to before she went to kill the bastards she was gonna take a swing by the police station…
As she pulled out of the drive way she took one last look at the Manor knowing she would never see it again…

Phoebe was admitted into the hospital and kept in the ICU. She was tied down to the bed staring blankly at the ceiling when Prue came in the room. She sat down by Phoebe’s side and took her hand.
“Phoebe, I’m gonna die tonite and there is nothing you can do about it, I’m going in by myself to try to kill the guys that did this to you I know that you would protest if you could but I need you to try and hang on for as long as you can because I know that if you let go Piper won’t last long by her self,” Prue said.
“I know I’m being stupid and dumb but I don’t know anything else to do,” Prue said. “ I wish we had never fought I wish I had never given you a hard time because Phoebe without you I don’t know what I would do, You and Piper you were my life and I couldn’t live without you even if I didn’t show it sometimes.”
“I love you, Phoebe”
As Prue left the room Phoebe quietly said, I love you Prue.

Prue drove aimlessly around town not sure where to be looking or where she was going when she heard people talking… no it wasn’t talking for sure it was chanting they weren’t talking they were chanting this was where Prue wanted to be.. whispering a silent prayer she headed for the door.
*
“Why don’t we go and get them already?” one the demons asked.
“ You don’t know much I know more and I know that they will come for us especially the eldest she will be the first to come then I will be united with my Piper and we will be together forever,” Jon explained.
“Come on I wanna kill me some witches,” one of the other demons bellowed.
All of the sudden they all started flying every which way ever single demon  was wiped away from in front of Jon and Prue, the eldest Charmed One stood face to face with Jon completely vulnerable.
She pulled a gun from behind her back, Darryl had given her one to kill the prick who had caused so much pain.
“Hello Prue I’m glad we finally get to meet!” Jonathan said playing with the gun behind his back.
She slowly put her finger to the trigger.
“You’re quick,Prue,” he said. “I’m quicker,” he said pulling the gun from behind his back, aiming for her chest he pulled the trigger before Prue even got the chance…

An hour later Darryl was notified of Prue’s death she was found on the front yard of her house. Her distressed sister, Piper looking out the window. Darryl had also heard Phoebe had been admitted to the hospital and she apparently wasn’t doing the greatest…
*
Phoebe couldn’t take it much longer she didn’t even know how to let go she didn’t know what was happening when it clicked…
She had been looking through the book of shadows and had stumbled across a spell which opened people’s eyes/premonitions to all the pain in the world it wasn’t fair she was a good person why did this have to happen to her.. If only she could’ve talked to Prue tell her that she wanted to help Piper, tell Prue and Piper she loved them and to tell Prue she wished they had never fought. She knew she wasn’t going to last she needed to help Piper. She needed to get married… have children.. but nothing like that would happen Phoebe knew now as she was hit with the most powerful premonition she had had all nite…
Phoebe lying in the hospital bed the machine flatlining…
A couple moments that happened as Phoebe whispered…
“I’m so sorry, Piper, I love you”

Darryl came by the Manor a couple hours later not knowing what to say, he was about to tell Piper Halliwell that she was the only one of the Charmed Ones still living…
“Piper?” he said walking into the room. “I don’t know how to say this but Phoebe is dead,” he said.
Piper burst into hysterics.
“No! No! No! She isn’t!” Darryl took her into his arms and tried to comfort her he didn’t know what to say he would be doing the same thing if her found out the 3 closest people to him had been killed in the past 24 hours.
“Darryl I need some time alone,” Piper said.
“Call me if you need anything,” Darryl said.
“I promise,”
Darryl left the Manor not knowing he would be back a couple of hours later…

Jon stared at the demon who had just given him the news that the youngest Charmed One was dead…
“AH!!!” he screamed. “ I only got to kill 1 Charmed One and one whitelighter!” he said.
“There is still one left,” the demon said.
“You honestly think that she is gonna last through the night…” he said.
“Ok Boys ready to reek havoc on the world!”

Piepr stumbled down the stairs and almost fell into the kitchen.
She grabbed a piece of paper and started writing this letter…

Thanks Darryl for always being there whenever we needed you (and for always being there for Andy) The Book Of Shadows is in the attic if you ever need it for anything. I also ask you to give the attached note to my dad and make sure that Kit gets a good home

Piper then took a separate sheet of paper and began writing a letter to her father…

Daddy,
I love you so did Phoebe and Prue. We just never really got the chance to show it I hope you understand why I had to do what I did. It was too hard. We’re all in a better place now.. We’re with mom.

She put the letters together and tied them to the dagger. She walked outside in the pouring rain with Kit by her feet.
“Some Promises were just meant to be broken”
The dagger shone in the moon light just waiting to be used… Piper raised the knife and plunged it towards her chest…

Piper sat up in her bed drenched in sweat. Leo was standing by the doorway.
“It’s you,” she said lovingly getting up from bed expecting them to protest but yet she moved with ease. She kissed him passionately.
“You slept for such a long time honey, Phoebe told me to let you sleep,” Leo said smiling.
“What time is it?” she asked.
“Almost 3,” he replied.
“Woah I was asleep for that long,” she said. “You’ll never belive the dream I had.”
Suddenly Leo looked up.
“It’s important I have to go tell me about that dream later alright?” he said kissing her again.
“I love you Leo,” she said as he orbed out.

Piper showered and got dressed… she went outside for a run…

The silence was strange and eerie in Halliwell Manor, it was usually such a busy house. The door knob turned, the door creaked open and Piper
stepped in.

Prue! Phoebe! I'm home! she yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
Must not be home she thought to her self. This is all way too familiar she said.
She placed the paper on the front hall table and continued to the kitchen. She walked to the fridge and noticed the familiar note  posted on the fridge
door.

Dear Piper,

I went to the Convalescent Hospital to help out. Prue is gonna pick me up after she is done shopping.

Phoebe and don't forget Prue

Piper smiled and thought that she would make a great supper tonight because she had gotten home in time to make it. She remembered about
the receipes her Grams had given to her before she had passed away. Piper had put them in the basement contrary to about everything else in
the house which was in the attic. She went to the basement door, flicked the swtich, started down the stairs…
