Can You Save Piper?

Some of the ideas from this story were taken from Fearless- Run by Francine Pascal. I liked it and thought that it would be cool as a Charmed Fan Fiction. Some of it is different but the main plot is from that book I hope you enjoy it! Some ideas were taken from Buffy too. And thanks to Tre who pushed me to finish.

The silence was strange and eerie in Halliwell Manor, it was usually such a busy house. The door knob turned, the door creaked open and Piper stepped in.

Prue! Phoebe! I'm home! she yelled from the bottom of the stairs.
Must not be home she thought to her self.
She placed her purse on the front hall table and continued to the kitchen. She walked to the fridge and noticed a note posted on the fridge door.

Dear Piper,

I went to the Convalescent Hospital to help out. Prue is gonna pick me up after she is done shopping.

Phoebe and don't forget Prue

Piper smiled and thought that she would make a great supper tonight because she had gotten home in time to make it. She remembered about the recipes her Grams had given to her before she had passed away. Piper had put them in the basement contrary to about everything else in the house which was in the attic. She went to the basement door, flicked the swtich, started down the stairs, she slipped and tumbled down the stairs. A high pitched scream, a groan, then the strange and eerie silence again.

Phoebe looked impatiently at the pay phone. Why isn't Piper home yet! She is usually always home by 5! Oh well she thought. No biggie! She stared outside and spotted Prue coming up to the door. She waved from the payphone and Prue came up to her.
Hey sis! Phoebe said.
hey Phoebe ready to go home I'm starved and Piper should be home making supper, Prue stated.
Yeah she should but I called and there was no answer, Phoebe replied.
Oh Well I still want to get home you should see the new shoes I got! Prue squealed with excitement.
Cool can't wait, Phoebe said.
She took Prue's arm and they walked out to the car.

The glass shattering woke Piper up instantly. She winced in pain as she tried to get up. Her vision was blurry but her hearing was perfect.
A little dank and dark but some color, a tv, call it home, the voice said.
Who is it? she asked sitting up.
Oh Piper dear don't you wish you knew, I'm your worst nightmare, he replied.
She focused on him he was tall, sorta handsome for a jerk, kinda like the tall dark brooding guy on that show, Angel, none the less he was a jerk from what she could tell or just a smart ass.
So your sisters aren't home or have you just not tried yelling because I haven't been able to put a spell on this place so you wouldn't be able to yell to them it's sort of like a..... well why would I tell you but after I'm done they won't be able to get in here or hear you, you won't be able to get out either, he explained. He clapped his hands and a couple big guys came in with rope and one if them had a tool box.
There's a chair over there you can tie her up there, he commanded in a booming voice.
Hey Jon the chair is broke, one guy that looked like he had the IQ of about a two year old asked.
Well then find another place to tie her up it doesn't make a difference does it? he said.
Ok Ok then, he replied.
He quickly found another chair and grabbed Piper. She screamed in pain, a satisfied grin spread across Jon's face.
You fell down the stairs pretty hard didn't you? he asked.
Yeah how did you know? she replied.
I made it happen, he said. I need you to help me destroy your sisters.
What? she said.
Why else do you think I would take you down here make you hurt yourself tie you to a chair! If I wanted the strong Charmed One I would get Prue and if I wanted a good kill I would get Phoebe ! You will be fine though I mean to kill but I also need you as bait and I need someone to clone! he yelled.
He walked up the stairs and started chanting something.
You are going to clone me? she asked.
Well either that or do something else not sure I haven't totally made up my decision, he replied.
Please you can kill me but please don't kill my sisters, she pleaded.
I will kill you and them don't have any worries, Piper dear, he said.
Stop calling me that! she yelled.
So what did you hurt when you fell down the stairs? he asked, Want me to kiss it all better?
Stay the hell away from me she yelled.
Phoebe! Prue! Help!
That will really not help you dear nothing will.......

Prue pulled in the driveway and her and Phoebe jumped out of the chair and made a maddash for the house before they got totally soaked. The weather had changed quickly and there was going to be a huge storm that night.
Piper! they yelled in unison.
She must not be home, Phoebe declared after a couple of moments with no response.
Hmmmm that's strange she is always home by now, Prue said.
She will be home don't worry, Phoebe replied.
Phoebe went into the kitchen to take the note she left on the fridge for Piper down when she realized it wasn't there anymore. She found it on the table with another note beside it.

Dear Phoebe and Prue,

Check your e-mail now!

Phoebe dashed to her bedroom and flipped open her laptop. She had a really strange feeling that this was not going to be good. She typed in her password and the Mailbox opened revealing 2 new e-mail. She opened the first one......... It was just an e-mail from Clay the next one had no name or subject. She clicked on it and a picture of Piper came up on the screen. The screen went blank again and a word began to form while a voice started to speak.......

Not many people know that Piper is diabetic do they Phoebe? She sometimes has really nasty allergic reactions to different stuff or she has in her past....... Right now Piper is fine but let's say late this night she will be in desperate need of her insulin... You have until midnight to save her or else we will kill her.....

The words formed a message Phoebe stared at the screen stunned.....

Can You Save Piper???

The fun is about to begin! Jon said grabbing Piper's face. Don't look so sad Piper you are going to have some fun too!
Really? she said sarcasticly.
Well of course, he replied. Piper do you remember when you fell down the stairs when you were 13 it wasn't an accident was it. You needed attention you felt like you were just a peacemaker in between your sisters when they were happy there was no need for you to be there! Maybe if you hadn't of been there.... Maybe Phoebe wouldn't have been like she was she would not be as free sprited as she is now! Maybe so or maybe not? I think she wouldn't be like she is now Piper. Are you actually important in the scheme of things! Sure you are a part of the Power Of Three but if you were dead or if you weren't actually born your sisters wouldn't constantly be in danger because there would be no power Of 3!
This conversation was having an affect on Piper remembering that day when she made herself trip down the stairs to get just a little bit of attention it was selfish yes but what else could she do she was just there kind of like an old mat you walk on everyday don't realize it's there, a chewed up pen that you don't wanna throw away because it's sort of become a friend but Piper wasn't a friend she was more of a bother! Prue was praised for being sort of like a mother figure Phoebe wasn't praised but recgonized because she was so free-spirited Piper was the middle sister barely notcied how else was she supposed to get attention then bringing on an injury, she didn't excel in anything! She looked up at Jon and said with the most confidence she could and said,
You aren't getting to me, stop wasting your breath, she lied.
Oh dear Piper I just wish you could tell me the truth, Do you feel okay though honestly? he asked
I feel fine, she replied.
Oh you don't have to lie, your legs hurt don't they Piper, I can sense it it's just like when you were 13! You couldn't walk for weeks everyone pitied you then actually realized they needed you, he said.
They don't have a lot more time to realize they need you now dear it's only a matter of time before you die, he thought.

Prue get in here fast! Phoebe yelled from her spot in front of her computer.
yeah Pheebs what is it? Prue asked coming into Phoebe's room.
It's Piper Prue some one has her! They are going to kill her at midnight! Phoebe yelled as she collapsed into tears on her bed.
How do you know that Pheebs? Prue asked helping Phoebe up and hugging her tight.
I got an e-mail from them they said something about tests, Phoebe explained in between sobs.
It's ok we will find her, Prue said.
At the moment the door bell rang Prue ran down to get it as Phoebe went to the kitchen.
Prue opened the door and found a dark brown envelope there she picked it up and opened it. A picture fell out it was folded in half on one side was a drawing of Piper falling down a flight of stairs and the next one was a grave stone it read:

Piper Halliwell
1973 - 2000
She wasn't loved she's in a better place.

What a bastard I can't believe this! she said.
Prue what's wrong? Phoebe asked.
This was on the front step, she replied.
Oh My God, Phoebe said.
I know wait here's a note, Prue stated.

It said:

Dear Charmed Ones,

You know this already but I have your sister.... I enjoy saying that, you don't know me, never met me you also don't know how to destroy but I have 5 tests for you how much are you willing to give up for your beloved sister. You have until midnight so I suggest you do them quick here is your first test......
Take the Book Of Shadows to Golden Gate Park and give it to a homeless man, he will be wearing a hat and he will have a grocery cart by the fountain... He will give you the next test my dear have fun......

God I hate this guy, Prue said she glanced at the clock, 5:30pm which gave them about 6 hours to do all of this stuff.
I'll go get the Book Of Shadows then, Phoebe said.
Prue grabbed her coat and went to wait in the car

Jon opened up the tool box, there was an assortment of weapons and such.
Piper I do hope your sisters do these tests very quickly or you really won't survive, he said. How are you feeling anyway?
Piper didn't want to admit that she felt like hell and the pain in her legs was almost unbearable.
I feel fine, she lied.
I can tell when people lie almost like a Sixth Sense, he said.  See with you heart Piper, he placed his hand in front of her eyes and then sat in front of Piper.

At one moment the dumb Jon guy was in front of Piper and then Leo.
Leo? she asked in disbelief.
Yeah Piper sweetie I'm here, he said.
You have to help me we have to get out of here, she replied.
No Piper you have to stay and help Jon, he explained.
He's getting to me Leo I don't know how much longer I can hold up, she responded.
He can make all the pain go away Piper, Leo said.
How? she asked
Just help him get Prue and Phoebe they never loved you from the beginning you have to believe me Piper just help him, Leo replied.
Something that Leo just said had had an effect on Piper Jon saying that her sisters didn't love her or need her had just been something that another demon or warlock said but Leo how could he say this if it wasn't true.
I believe you, Leo I do, I'll help him I promise, she said.
Alright then help Jon, you'll get out of here I promise, I love you, Leo said and kissed Piper passionately.
A hand waved in front of Piper's face again and Jon was there again not Leo.
Where did Leo go?  she asked furiously.
He'll be back dear but you have to help me you promised Leo,  he replied.
Alright I'll help you, she said.
He spread some dust in a circle around Piper and said an incantation.
Piper passed out and Jon laughed evily.

Phoebe and Prue were walking around Golden Gate Park they spotted 9 homeless people. It said that the one to give the Book Of Shadows to had a cart... That narrowed it down to 5.... It was a homeless man which narrowed it down to 3 ok now which one was it going to be... Phoebe looked at each one of them thinking of which one might be helping the asshole that had Piper. Prue was doing the same thing. She tapped Phoebe on the shoulder.
It's that one, she claimed.
Why do you say that? Phoebe asked.
Well look at his shoes and his pants what kind of homeless person has those kind of clothes? she asked.
None that's gotta be him, she replied.
Phoebe walked over to him and dropped the Book Of Shadows in his cart.
He passed her an envelope and bag.
Dear Phoebe and Prue,
Congratulations on the completion of test #1.......
Piper needs you and all you have to do is commit a crime. The object in the bag will help you.
Can you do the test?

Phoebe and Prue scanned the area looking for something that wouldn't hurt anyone too much. Phoebe glanced at a man. She had seen him around before she had never liked him of course. He was mean to everyone and sick. He was a drug dealer of some sort. She walked over to him and and shoved the gun (from the bag) into his back.
Hey what the hell? he said.
Shut Up or I'll shoot, she replied, give me your money.
Ok ok alright, he said.
He pulled a wallet out of his coat pocket.
Here now just leave me alone, he stated.
She ran back to Prue and said, There 2nd test is done. Let's go home maybe the next test is there.

Piper woke up. She was desperately trying to fight off this evil side of her self. She had been trying for such a long time it almost seemed impossible. As her eyes opened, the evil won and took over her body.
Oh Piper dear how are you? Jon asked.
I'm great, she grinned evily.
Ahhh fabulous, Please come with me as we await The Charmed Ones, he said.

Prue and Phoebe both walked up the front steps. Phoebe dashed up the stairs to her laptop and flipped it open. The e-mail was still displayed on the screen. Sounds that were very very familar to Phoebe played in the background.
Woah, she said.
Phoebe I found the next test! Prue yelled from the bottom of stairs.
Prue get up her for a minute, she yelled back.
Prue appeared at Phoebe's door a minute later.
Are those sounds familar to you, Phoebe asked.
Yeah they sound....... they sound like the basement, she replied.
Exactly what I was thinking, Phoebe stated.
No it couldn't be they aren't in the basement Phoebe...., Prue said.
They could be, she replied.
Well the next test is to find them I guess we could try, Prue said.
At that moment the doorbell rang.
Phoebe and Prue both rushed down the stairs and Phoebe opened the door.
Hey Leo, she said.
Hey Pheebs, I heard about Piper, he replied.
We were just on our way to see if we could find her,Prue said.
Where do you think she is? he asked.
I am not going to tell you just follow me, Phoebe stated going to the kitchen.
Why won't you tell me? he asked.
You probably wouldn't believe me if I did, she replied.

So what is your power anyway? Piper asked.
I can read peoples' thoughts, Jon replied.
God that must get really annoying, she said.
Yeah well someone with less power than me might go crazy but I can block most people out only the person that I want to hear could be heard, he explained.
What am I thinking? she asked seductively.
Aww sweetie you don't believe me? he asked reading her mind.
I do now, she said sitting in his lap. As she was just about to kiss him the basement door burst open and 3 people thundered down the stairs.
They both jumped and Jon said under his breath. Damn spell wore off.
The battle was about to begin........

Get away from her! Prue yelled sending him flying. She ran over to Piper who slapped her across the face. Liar! she screamed. Everyone is always lying to me telling me they love me! I am just nothing.
Oh Piper stop thinking that we do love you! Phoebe said.
No you don't Phoebe! stop lying everyone stop lying. Piper yelled.
Jon got up and stumbled but then regained his composure Ah that's my girl he said wrapping his arms around her stomach.
The look of that almost made Leo sick.  Oh and you most of all Piper said pointing at Leo. I thought you really loved me.....
Piper I do love you! he said.
Jon walked around the room.
Full of love towards this thing you make me sick, he said.
Please Leo! You have to help me! Piper yelled.
Phoebe tried to kick Jon as he passed by her but the kick was messy and was able to grab her foot and send hher to the floor with such force she lost consciousness.

Piper's good side was trying to fight with the bad side that was hurting the people she loved.  She finally broke through.She could hear them yelling but she couldn't help. Now she could.
Get away from them! she yelled.
That spell never did last too long, Jon said under his breath.
He ran over to prue and before she could react and sent her flying across the room with one huge kick. Then before Leo could think he had Piper by the neck up in the air.
Don't move Leo or she is dead! he yelled.
Meanwhile Prue had gotten up without him noticing and astral projected behind him.
She stole the gun from his back pocket.
Drop her or I shoot, she threatened.
He threw Piper clear across the room when she landed Leo ran over to her.
Leo, she whispered.
yeah Piper I am here, he said.
He tried to heal her but it wouldn't work.
It's ok Leo it was meant to be like this, she said.
No it isn't Piper, you aren't might to die, he replied on the verge of tears.
Please Leo leave it be it hurts so much I have to stop, she said in between sobs.
Bang! The shot rang through the air.
Great job Prue My Turn!Jon yelled punching across the face.
Phoebe had regained consciousness and was now at Prue's said. She started fighting with Jon then when she had fallen to the ground out of breath. Prue sent Jon flying again.
I love you Piper, Leo said
I love you too, Piper said.
Jon crawled on to the ground to where Piper and Leo were sitting. He threw Leo out of his way and hawled Piper to her feet.
She started mumbling something under her breath. And some sort of vortex opened behind him.
What do you think now? Can You Save Piper? he bellowed not realizing what was behind him.
Phoebe had to bite herlip so hard it almost started bleeding.
He heard a sound behind him and realized what Piper was doing.She was opening the gate to hell.
He started a spell of his own and as the vortex sucked him in and Piper said the last words of the spell he screamed the ending  of his spell.
"Switch Our Powers Through the Air!"
Piper collasped to the floor.
Call 9-1-1 she's not breathing! Leo yelled.

Prue paced the waiting room in Bay Area Hosppital and stared impatiently at her watch. Phhoebe was sitting beside Leo who was mumbling to himself.
A doctor walked out only seconds later.
Piper is asleep now in room 32 that way he stated but before youu go I am going to tell you Piper suffers from a broken leg, her other leg is pretty bad, her wrist is sprained, and.......
What? Prue asked.
Well we will have toput Piper into Rehabilitation but there is a possibility she may never be able to use her legs again, he replied.
Phoebe,Prue and Leo both sighed. At least she was alive.
As they entered Piper's room they saw her lying on the hospital bed almost as white as the sheets.
Leo rushed to her side and Phoebe and Prue rushed to her other side about a half an hour later Piper's eyes opened and she smiled.

Piper focused on her surroundings. She smiled but then heard tons of voices. Leo's, Phoebe's, Prue's, Dr.Wallace's.
Please sttop talking all at once, she said.
They looked her quizzicly nobody had said a thing.

In Hell..........
Jon walked around grinning.
What are you so happy about? a man asked from where he was sitting.
I don't know, Jon replied, just happy I guess.
Jon Matthews, he stuck his hand out to shake the other man's hand.
Rex Buckland and this is Hannah Webster, he said shaking Jon's hand.
So how were you defeated? Rex asked.
Damn Charmed Ones, Jon replied.
We were too we were so close, Rex said.
I bet you weren't as close as me, he replied throwing up his hands everything froze and he walking away.
I could get used to this, he said grinning.
