Even Angels Fall

A few days after the girls saved Leo went by. Phoebe was sitting on the couch with Lucas’s arms wrapped around her.

“So what are you going to do? You know now that you’re not a darklighter.” Phoebe asked.

She hadn’t asked him before because she didn’t want to pressure him into anything. He had made a drastic change in his life. Besides Phoebe knew as well as anybody how hard it was to find a job. Plus how hard it was when someone was always pressuring you to get one.

“I didn’t tell you this before….. but the elders offered we a whitelighter job. You know since I helped you guys and all. It turns out I was originally destined to be a whitelighter, but something happen.” Lucas explained.

“Wow this is huge why didn’t you tell me?” Phoebe asked a little hurt that she wasn’t the first one he went to with the news.

“I’m sorry Pheebs.” Lucas apologized seeing her hurt expression. “Its just I don’t know what I want to do. I feel so guilty for what I have done in the past. I

really wanna take this whitelighter job but………..” Lucas paused looking upstairs and sighed.

“But Leo right?” Phoebe said realizing why he wasn’t ecstatic about the job.

“Yeah he still is mad at me. He doesn’t trust me.” Lucas concluded sadly. “I don’t want to make things worse for him. I really wanna make things up to him. I

feel so bad I mean I almost killed him. I accused him of killing are own mother when I knew he hadn’t” Lucas replied guilt overflowing through his body. He wished

he could go back in time and change things.

“I know once Prue and I where in a fight. For the longest time nether of us would forgive each other. But look at us now. Just give it some time and Leo will come around. He usually is a pretty forgiving guy.” Phoebe tired to comfort Lucas.

“Yeah hopefully things will get better. Plus I don’t know if I want the whitelighter job. It would mean less time to spend with you.” Lucas whispered into her

ear. His breath tickled Phoebe. They got closer and went in for a long passionate kiss.

After twenty minutes went by Lucas and Phoebe where still heavily making out. Prue walked into the room and stared at the happy couple.

“Hello single girl in the room.” She said breaking the two apart.

“Hey Prue.” Lucas greeted.

“Prue oh I didn’t here you get up.” Phoebe said straightening her hair.

“That was obvious.” Prue laughed. “Its bad enough with Piper and Leo but now you two. I might die from all the cuteness that’s going around.” Prue joked.

“Sorry Prue can’t be in the single club with you anymore.” Phoebe laughed.

“Ha ha very funny.” Prue said sticking out her tong.

“We really need to get you a man.” Phoebe stated the obvious.

“Yeah well its not like I haven’t been looking. So where’s Piper shouldn’t she be up by now?” Prue asked looking at her watch.

“Prue do you really have to ask? She’s upstairs in her room playing with Leo.”

“So what are your plans for today Prue?” Lucas asked changing the subject.

The only one who hadn’t accepted him into the family was Leo. Piper was a bit cold

sometimes but it’s against her nature to be mean. Lucas didn’t plan Leo heck he wouldn’t blame him if he never forgive him.

“Julie and I are going to go out. Probably catch a movie do some shopping. As long as she doesn’t get called or anything.” Prue replied.

“I’m glad you and my sister are becoming close friends.” Lucas sighed thinking how Leo and Julie had such a good relationship.

“Well she is a really great person. Well if you kids will excuse me I have to go.” Prue said grabbing her purse and heading out the door.

“Bye Prue.” Lucas said.

“Bye love you sister.” Phoebe yelled after.

“So what do you think I should do?” Lucas asked.

“About what?” Phoebe asked forgetting their conversation before Prue walked in.

“About the whole whitelighter job and my brother?” Lucas replied reminded her.

“Oh yeah well I think you should try and show Leo you still care. It will take time but he will get the message. About the job if you really want it I think you should take it. I wouldn’t mind at all as long as you still have time for me.” Phoebe answered smiling.

She played with his hair and leaned against him.

“Everything will turn out ok you’ll see.”

“So your sure its ok with you. Phoebe I love you and I don’t want do to anything to lose you.”

“Lucas I’m positive you gave up the dark side for me. I know how much you love me and I just want you to be happy. So do whatever makes you happy.” Phoebe reassured him.

“Then I’ll become a whitelighter.” Lucas said tangled strands of Phoebe’s hair between his fingers.

Suddenly he orbed out. Phoebe fell back onto the couch because she had been leaning on him.

“Guess he is getting his wings.” Phoebe figured as she went to fix herself some coffee.

Meanwhile upstairs Leo and Piper laid in each other arms. They where both awake but where keeping silent. Piper knew something was wrong with Leo and she awaited for him to tell her what’s wrong. After ten minutes of nothing Piper couldn’t stand it any more. She hated when anybody she loved blocked her out and wouldn’t tell her their problems.

“Leo hunny what’s wrong?” Piper asked sweetly. After again getting silence she lifted her head off Leo’s chest to look at him. “Leo! You in there?” She said seeing how he was looking off into space.

“Huh yeah Piper go ahead.” Leo answered turning towards her.

“Well that didn’t answer my question?” Piper replied

tangling her hands through Leo’s hair. “What’s wrong?”

“Hmmmm it’s just this whole Lucas thing.” Leo sighed.

Piper knew that’s what was bugging him. There was a lot of tension between those two. She wasn’t to found of him herself because of what he did to Leo. But Phoebe was her sister so she tried to be cheerful and nice.

“I hate not being close to him but……… I’ll be honest I don’t trust him. And I hate it but every time I’m in the same room with him things are said that shouldn’t be said.” Leo explained becoming frustrated. He was trying hard to forgive Lucas but things where

hard between them.

“Sweetie these things take time. The fact that you want it to work is a good sign. I’m sure in time you will be as close as I am with my sisters. As close as you are to Julie.” Piper said laying her head back on his chest. She tightly held on to him hoping

everything would turn out ok.

“I don’t think I’ll ever be that close with him. I’ve never been really close to him.” Leo explained.

“You know one of these days your going to have to tell me.” Piper said softly running her hands along Leo’s chest.

“Tell you what?” Leo asked puzzled.

“About your past. Not just what you told me when you almost died but the whole thing.” Piper concluded giving Leo a kiss. “You know you can always trust me.”

“I know and its not that I don’t trust you its just……… My past isn’t all pretty and in time when I’m ready I’ll explain everything to you.” Leo replied twisting Pipers hair in his hand.

“I’ll be here and when your ready don’t hesitated to talk.” Piper whispered.

Leo smiled thinking how lucky he was to have such and understanding girl. Some girls

would want to know everything about he past right then and there. But Piper was different she wanted to know but only when he was ready to reveal it. Suddenly Leo heard the call of the elders. He sighed looking towards the sky.

“Now?” He asked not wanting to get up. “Alright fine I’m going.”

“Oh you have to go so soon.” Piper winced not wanting to move from that spot. It was so comfortable being in Leo’s arms.

“I’m sorry.” Leo said working his way out from underneath Piper.

It took him a few minutes to get out of bed as Piper clanged to him.

“Piper please let go your not making this easy.” Leo laughed pushing some of her hair out of her eyes. Piper also laughed and she let go of Leo.

“I suppose I should get down to the club anyways.” Piper replied getting out of bed also. “Will you be back soon?”

“Hopefully. I love you.” Leo said taking her in his arms again and passionately kissing her goodbye. After the kiss Leo orbed out knowing he had made the elders wait long enough.

The elders where meeting with Lucas.

“So you have made your decision?” One of them asked.

“Yes.” Lucas confirmed.

“What is it then?” A female elder asked.

“I will become a whitelighter.” Lucas replied.

“Excellent welcome to the team.” The head whitelighter responded shaking Lucas’s hand.

“You understand by excepting these powers you must follow the rules.” A paper appeared in Lucas’s hand as the whitelighter told him this. “Read it over later and if you have any problems let us know.” Lucas nodded in return. “We will tell you that we’ll allow your relationship with the youngest charmed one. BUT don’t let in interfere with your work or else.”

“I understand.” Lucas replied a smiled starting to creep along his face.

“Good. You will start training right away.” Suddenly Leo orbed in and stared at his brother.

“You called?” He ignored Lucas not knowing what to think. Why was he here?

“Yes we have a new assignment for you.” The head whitelighter explained.

“Ok.” Leo eyed Lucas hoping it didn’t concern him.

“This is the newest member of are team. You’ll be training him Leo.”

“You kidding right?” Leo asked shock taking over.

“Where not the type of people who kid. You know that.” The head whitelighter said.

“Can I take to you alone?” Leo asked the council.

“Alright Lucas we will orb you home tell we call again.” Lucas disappeared as she said this.

“Are you out of your minds? You do know we’re related? Of all the people to put me with!” Leo yelled becoming outraged. They knew very well what had happened to Leo and Lucas.

“Leo stop yelling! We know very well what has happened. That’s why you guys are paired up. There will be much revealed later but for now just do your job. Or else we are taking your wings back and this time WE wont give them back.” The head whitelighter explained.

“Besides Lucas is with the youngest witch. So that means you don’t have to stay away from your witch for a while.”

“Errrr.” Leo muttered something and orbed out.

“So how did it go?” An excited Phoebe asked as Lucas  appeared in the living room. She hadn’t moved from her spot waiting for her man to return. She knew it could

have taken all day but she couldn’t help but wonder what happen.

“God I think this was a mistake.” Lucas muttered plopping down onto the couch.

He put his head in his hands thinking over what had happened today. Phoebe got on her knees and started to rub his shoulders. They we’re very tense and Pheebs wanted to make him feel better.

“What happen?” Phoebe asked a little worried now.

“Well they said I could become a whitelighter.” Lucas replied lifting his head up to see Phoebe.

“So what’s the problem?” Pheebs asked a bit confused.

“Guess who is going to be training me?” Lucas muttered. Phoebe thought a minute or her face immediately fell when she realized what happen.

“They wouldn’t do that would they? I mean you guys are having some problems.”

“Yes they are.” Lucas confirmed starting to regret his decision to become a whitelighter.

“Maybe its for the best. I know the elders can be pain in the asses but…… Well with Prue and I the magic thing brought us close together. Maybe it will bring you two close.” Phoebe concluded optimistic as always.

“Maybe. Or maybe I shouldn’t even do this.”

“Just follow your heart. You can’t lose that way. That’s how you found me.” Phoebe grinned.

“It is.” Lucas confirmed smiling.

He moved closer to her and they kissed. Knowing that somehow things would

work out.

“Your back already?” Piper asked shocked.

Usually when they called he wasn’t back for a while. Piper had taken a shower and got ready for work. She was just about to go downstairs have a cup of coffee and leave.

“What’s wrong?” Piper asked noticing the distress look on Leo’s face.

“Its work.” Leo muttered falling back onto the bed.

“What happen?” Piper lay next to him and wrapped her arms around him.

“I’m guiding a new whitelighter.” Leo replied.

“So what’s so bad about that? You’re a good guide.” Piper said smiling.

“I’m guiding Lucas.” Leo answered.

“Oh.”

“If I don’t do it I lose my wings.” Leo went on.

“Well I’m not going to tell you what to do but…. Just remember this everyone makes mistakes. Even angels fall.” Piper stated always being the forgiving one. Leo smiled and kissed his girl.

“I love you.” Leo whispered into her ear tickling her.

“I love you two, but I have to get to P3 if I’m going to open tonight.” Piper said not wanting to move from their spot.

“Yeah I suppose I should get started on my new assignment.”

“Good luck sweetie.” Piper kissed Leo on the cheek and left for P3.

Leo sighed and fell back on the bed.

“Oh hun I have to get to class or I’m going to be late.” Phoebe said breaking their kiss.

“Do you have to?” Lucas asked knowing Pheebs had to leave

“Yeah I’m sorry.” Phoebe replied kissing him on the cheek.

“Well I guess I should practice anyways.” Lucas sighed.

“Good luck Ill see you tonight love yeah.” Phoebe rushed out the door.

“Love yeah.” A few minutes went by and Lucas finally got up. He was just about to head upstairs when Leo appeared at the top of them.

“Hey.” Leo greeted coming down not knowing what else to say. They both went over to the couch sitting in silence.

“Listen Leo if this is to hard I don’t have to become a whitelighter. I mean I wanna make things up to you.” Lucas broke the uncomfortable silence.

“No don’t do that because of me. If the elders want you to be a whitelighter than you must be distended to help a lot of innocents I couldn’t do that to them.

We’ll just figure something out.” Leo replied. “After all Phoebe seems to like you and she’s a good person.” Lucas smiled happy that they we’re at least talking.

“Leo I’m really really…….” Lucas started but was interrupted.

“I know you didn’t mean the things you did and said. Lets just try and move on. It will take time but we have all the time in the world right.” Leo said smiling himself. He was also pretty happy that they were talking. Although he hadn’t forgave him

completely yet.

“So what do we do first?” Lucas asked. Leo wasn’t sure if he was referring to the whitelighter thing or them.

“Lets try orbing.” Leo answered.

“Ok.”

“Lets try something easy. How about orbing upstairs. Visualize where you wanna orb. What it looks like how it smells. Things like that.” Leo explained getting

up. Lucas got up also and closed his eyes. He imagined Phoebe’s room, which he had spent a lot of nights in.

         “Its hard at first. You really have to think about where you wanna go. When your more experience you’ll be able to go to places you don’t even know what looks

like. Just be at peace with yourself and don’t think about anything but your body moving to upstairs.” Leo tried to explain further.

Lucas stood quiet for a long time trying to get his body to orb. Finally after what

seemed like hours his body turned into blue orbs. Suddenly his body reappeared in the living room.

“IT didn’t work.” Lucas sighed seeing he wasn’t in Phoebe’s room.

“When you started to orb you got to excited. You forgot to think about where you are going. So you came back. When your better at it your don’t have to think

bout it so hard.” Leo answered. “Try again. This time don’t stop thinking about upstairs.”

The whole day went pretty much like this. By the end of the day Lucas could orb with hardly any problem. He had a hard time with distances but they would work on that.

“How cute their both whitelighters and working together.” An evil voice sneered as he looked at the image before him.

“This will be easier than taking candy from a baby. All I have to do is have a little trouble being caused  then they’ll try to stop it. Mark!” The evil figured yelled. A younger man appeared before him.

“Yes master?” Mark asked awaiting his assignment.

“See these two?” The master asked pointing to Leo and Lucas on the TV.

“Yes.”

“Make them join us or kill them.” The man laughed as Mark nodded and orbed

orbed out.

“Dam I’m gonna be late.” Leo said looking at his watch. “We’ll continue tomorrow I have to meet Piper at P3.”

“Ok. Yeah I’m meeting Phoebe at P3 anyways.” Lucas replied.

“Can you give me a ride?” Lucas asked heading for the door.

“No.” Leo answered not moving from his spot.

Lucas turned around puzzled he didn’t think Leo was still really mad at him.

“Why not?”

“Because you can get there yourself orb.” Leo replied smiling.

“Oh no I don’t think I can.” Lucas said remembering he had powers.

“First rule never say you can’t. You can P3 isn’t that far away. Think about Piper’s office you have been there.” Leo stated knowing this could take a while.

Lucas closed his eyes and for a good 15 minutes didn’t move. Finally again he turned into orbs and was gone.

“Dam I’m a good teacher.” Leo smiled to himself.

He then orbed out as well. Lucas appeared in Piper’s office. Piper almost had a heart attack. Leo orbed in to find papers all over the place, which Piper had dropped when Lucas orbed in.

“Dam don’t do that.” Piper scolded only half mad. She knelt down and started picking up her work.

“Sorry Piper.” Lucas apologized he bent down to help her pick up her stuff. Leo also helped her out.

“Well I see you have learned the art of scaring the Halliwells to death.” Piper joked hugging Leo.

“Well I’m gonna leave you two kids alone and find Pheebs bye.” Lucas replied walking out into the club.

“Sooo?” Piper asked

“Sooo what?”

“How was it?”

“Not bad actual. A lot better than I thought. I think there is still a chance for us to be close. In time at least.” Leo answered kissing Piper.

“I’m happy to hear that. After all he is dating my sister.” Piper replied. Piper and Leo went in for another kiss.

Lucas searched the club for Phoebe. He finally saw her at the bar with Prue and Julie.

“Hey.” Lucas greeted coming up to the girls.

“Hey you.” Phoebe replied kissing him.

“Hey Lucas.” Both Julie and Prue greeted at the same time.

“Did you girls have fun today?” He asked to all of them.

“Yeah your sister

“So what happen?” Phoebe asked.

“He agreed to help me. He helped me today with orbing. I think he’s going to forgive me. At least I hope.” Lucas replied taking Phoebe’s hand. “Enough about me lets dance.” Pheebs laughed as he pulled her out on to the dance floor.

Phoebe and Lucas started dancing to the music while Prue and Julie watched.

“I can’t wait to find a guy like that.” Prue sighed.

“Don’t worry you will everyone has a soul mate its just a matter of time.” Julie replied.

“Easy for you to say you don’t age. I’m not getting any younger here.” Prue answered.

“Prue its not all that great. I’ll never going to know how 26 feels. I mean in mortal years at least. And living forever you lose a lot of people that you love. Plus its not like I’m spending my life partying.” Julie replied.

“I guess I never thought of it like that. How do you live with that rule? No falling in love isn’t that why everyone lives for?” Prue asked.

“We can’t live with it. If you fall in love nothing will stop that feeling. You can deny it all you want but its still there. Still willing you.”  Julie sighed.

“Uh oh sounds like you’ve had experience.” Prue commented.

“Yeah being a whitelighter can suck.”

“Having second thoughts?” Leo asked.

“No just being depressed.” Julie answered.

Leo felt sorry for his younger sister. She had found love and “they” had taken it away. One day Chad disappeared never to be seen again. Leo knew it had to be the work

of the elders. He demanded to know what they did but they denied it of course. He never told Julie that he suspected the elders and he knew it didn’t cross her mind. He wished Julie could be as happy as he was with Piper. Leo had helped look for Chad forever and still this day he knew she was looking for him. Suddenly Leo heard the call of the elders he sighed and turned to Piper.

“I have to go.” He commented giving Piper a kiss.

“Ok love you come back soon.” Piper replied hugging Leo.

“If you need help just call.” Julie commented.

Leo nodded and headed for the door. Lucas spotted Leo leaving and turned to Phoebe.

“Hey I’m going to go see what’s up I’ll be back soon.” He replied kissing her.

“Lucas don’t get in the way of Leo’s job.” Phoebe commented not wanting him to leave.

“I wont.” Lucas winked then ran after Leo. Outside Lucas caught up to Leo.

“Where you going?” He questioned.

“The elders think there is a demonic problem downtown I have to go check it out.” Leo replied as he turned the corner.

“Shouldn’t you get the Charmed ones?” Lucas asked.

“No they don’t know for sure yet I’m suppose to check it out first.”

“Let me help you.” Lucas pleaded.

“No!” Leo answered sternly. “If this is a demonic problem you’re not ready for it. You can barely orb yet.”

“Come on I can do this.” Lucas replied getting angry.

Leo just wasn’t giving a chance because he didn’t trust him.

“NO! Now I don’t have time for this go back to Pheebs.” With that Leo orbed out.

“Damit I thought he trusted me now!” Lucas shouted punching the wall. He looked down to his hand as pain tingled through his body. Blood trickled down and he

cursed for doing that.

“I’ll show Leo I can do this.” Lucas smiled and orbed out.

Prue and Julie sat at the bar taking while Piper served drinks. Phoebe sat in the corner by herself. Phoebe felt this erry feeling go threw her as she touched Lucas’s jacket. He hadn’t come back so she figured he must have gone with Leo. She was worried sick though. Lucas was new at this what if he got hurt? What if he doesn’t come back to me? Phoebe wondered afraid to death.

“Phoebe what’s wrong hun?” Piper asked taking a break. Piper could see Pheebs deep in thought and worried.

“Nothing.” Phoebe muttered back.

“Phoebe.”

“Ok I’m just worried about Lucas. I mean he us new at this what if he gets hurt?” Phoebe explained.

“Oh Pheebs Leo will take good care of him you know that. I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Piper reassured her youngest sister. Phoebe smiled and was thankful to

have Piper cheer her up.

“I never knew how hard this is for you tell now.” Phoebe commented missing him.

“Welcome to my world. It’s hard but if you love someone as much as I love Leo than it’s worth it.” Piper commented.

“I know thanks Piper I love you.” Phoebe gave Piper a hug.

“Ok well I gotta get back to work. I love you two.” Piper got up and went back to the bar.

Leo orbed onto a street. He felt the presences of a darklighter right away. He suddenly saw a women being held by a man. Not thinking he quickly rushed over there. The darklighter saw him coming.

“Not another step Leo. Or she’s dead.” He hissed.

“What do you want?” Leo asked.

“You and your family.” The darklighter replied.

“You’re not going to hurt any of my family.”

“See that’s where you’re wrong.” He smiled feeling another whitelighters presences enter. He knew very well who it was.

The women Mark was holding disappeared. Leo realized it was only a trick. Leo

felt it to another presences and realized what he was talking about. Lucas orbed in a few feet away from Leo. Mark grinned as a bow an arrow appeared in his hands. The arrow left its place heading straight for Lucas. Leo quickly pushed him out of the way feeling the sharp impact in his side.

“Not bad I still got one of you.” Mark orbed out.

Leo felt his strength leave him and orb quickly before he couldn’t. Lucas stood shocked everything had happened so fast. He fell to his knees feeling and put his head in his hands.

“What have I done?” He muttered.

Back at the club Piper felt a chill go threw her. She dismissed it as nothing and continued to work. Suddenly she saw Julie double over in intense pain. She almost fell to the ground if it wasn’t for Prue who had caught her.

         “What happened?” Piper and Phoebe exclaimed running over to them. Prue held Julie steady. She was recovering from the pain but still weak.

“Are you ok?” Piper questioned worried. “Do you need something a doctor anything?” She asked starting to panic.

“Oh god something’s wrong. Something’s……… some something’s wrong.” Julie stuttered remembering the last time she felt like that.

“What do you mean?” Phoebe asked helping Prue Julie into Pipers office. Julie sat down on the chair in the office.

“Something’s wrong with ether Leo or Lucas.” Julie explained feeling tears well up in her eyes. She knew it was bad life threatening.

“What? How how do you know?” Piper asked pacing.

“We’re all linked together. We can feel each other’s pain. I’ve only felt that way when……………..” Julie paused knowing they would freak hearing the next part.

“When when wh wha what?” Phoebe stuttered as afraid as Piper.

“Never mind we just have to get to the manor. They might be there.” Julie exclaimed.

“Lets go!” Piper grabbed her car keys heading towards the door.

“Faster way.” Julie replied getting up.

“You cant possible orb us all there.” Prue commented the obvious.

“I can do it.” Julie answered with a determined look on her face.

Prue sighed in defeat. They each took a part of her arm and a few seconds later orbed out. They reappeared in the attic. Julie sat down feeling very weak. It wasn’t easy orbing three people when you’re weak already. Piper quickly ran down the stairs

to the second floor. She checked every room and found nothing. Then she ran down the next set of stairs. She gasped seeing Leo on the floor unconscious. Piper stood there in shock before finally falling to her knees next to him. She saw the blood coming from his side and the deadly arrow. She almost instantly knew what it was.

“Oh god oh god please don’t be dead please.” Piper muttered relieved when she found a pulse. “God Prue Phoebe come down.” Piper yelled falling apart. She held on to Leo tightly not teaching the arrow.

“Are they…..” Prue stopped mid-sentence seeing me holding Leo.

“Oh my god!” Prue exclaimed. Phoebe stood in shock.

“Prue………. We we have to……………….. get him on…….. the couch. Then you…….. have have to get the………… arrow out.” Piper said threw her tears.

Piper let go of Leo as Prue moved him carefully with her powers. Julie came running down the stairs finally having enough strength.

“No no not again.” Julie muttered. A few tears fell down her cheeks. Prue got the arrow out and bandaged Leo up.

“I’m going to go talk to the elders.” Julie announced orbing out.

“Yeah we’ll go upstairs and look threw the book.” Phoebe commented.

She was afraid, last time they came close to losing Leo. She knew that Piper wouldn’t be able to handle it if she lost him. Prue followed Phoebe up the stairs.

Piper was left alone she sat on the floor next to Leo. She held his clammy hand with her head resting on his good side. Leo heard Piper’s cries and forced his eyes to open. He knew this poison was stronger and would kill him in a few short hours.

Leo lifted his hand up and stroked Piper’s hair. This took all his strength to do. She fell his warm touch and looked up.

“Oh god Leo.” She whispered. She held his hand tighter and he squeezed back a little.

“I… love you Piper.” Leo whispered his voice cracking.

“I know sweetie I love you two. I’m I’m going to fix this just like last time I promise. Prue and Pheebs are looking for the spell right now. I’m not going to let you die.” Piper said now running her hands threw his hair.

“That that spell wont work.” Leo replied softly knowing there was no other way to help him. The only way dark lighter’s poison can be healed is by whitelighters powers.

“What do you mean? Of course it will just like before.” Piper said feeling more fear run threw her body.

“It can only be used three times. You used it to heal me, Prue used it to kill the darklighter, and Phoebe used it to get your original powers back.” Leo explained.

“No no no it has to work it has to.” Piper exclaimed getting more hot tears run down her red cheeks.

“I’ll never forget you.”

“Don’t give up please Leo stay with me.” Piper cried holding tightly to him.

Meanwhile upstairs Prue and Phoebe had found that the switching powers spell had disappeared. Phoebe was frantically looking threw the book while Prue paced around. Phoebe came to the last page and her heart sunk it was blank. Nothing in the book was any use to them. Pheebs was about to shut the book when it glowed slightly writing started to appear.

“Prue.” Phoebe exclaimed pointing to the page.

Dear girls,

             I’m sorry but as you have already found out there is no spell to reverse the poison. It can only be reversed by another whitelighter. Good luck I love you all.

“Great now what.” Prue yelled frustrated.

Suddenly blue orbs appeared and Julie formed.

“Please tell us you have good news.” Phoebe pleaded.

“I’m not sure.” Julie replied. “They say only one whitelighter can heal Leo.” Julie explained.

“Who?” Both Prue and Phoebe asked in unison.

“………Lucas.” Julie answered.

“But but we don’t even know where he is.” Piper said walking in.

“I think I could track him down. How’s Leo?” Julie asked she was afraid to.

“Not good.” Was all Piper could get out. She pushed away her tears and continued. “What happened?”

“They said Leo went to check this call they had. Lucas orbed in wanting to help. The darklighter shot at Lucas but Leo pushed him out of the way.” Julie explained what the elders had told her.

Lucas stood in Leo’ whitelighter room alone. All tears had been split.

“How could I have been so stupid?” Lucas muttered to himself. He played with a small liquid bottle with his fingers. He could feel all the pain from Leo pouring into his own soul. It was torture and what was worse he knew it was ten times worse for Leo. Lucas could also feel Piper’s pain which made it unbearable.

“They are punishing me and I don’t blame then.” Lucas stated staring down to the liquid. This would end all the pain for him. But then he would disappoint Leo once

again. His whole life he would run away from things and that’s what Leo was disappointed in the most. Then Phoebe crossed his mind. He loved her so much and if

she lost him and Leo? Lucas knew the pain would be unbearable for her to. He didn’t want to put Phoebe threw that. But what other choice was there? This was

all his fault if he had only listened.

Lucas opened the small bottle and placed it to his lips. A soft blue light formed next to him.

“Julie!” He jumped back in surprised. He could see cheeks had stained her face.

“Running away again I see.” She replied harshly.

Lucas was a little taken back by the force in her voice. Although he shouldn’t have been. Julie loved both of them but Lucas knew that Leo and her had a special bond. One that Lucas could never fulfill.

“Isn’t it better this way?” Lucas stated.

“How can it be better to kill yourself? Lucas its bad enough that Leo is sick this is going to help.” Julie said her voice breaking as her anger vanished. All that was visible now was pain. The pain of being alone forever.

“This is all my fault. I deserve this.”

“No you’re just running away from us again. Running away when it gets tuff. Do you even ever think how this will affect others? Me how about Phoebe for some reason she’s fallen in love with you.” Julie exclaimed now angry again. Tears threaten to fall again but she held them back. “If you do this your worse than I ever imagined.”

Lucas couldn’t believe she had said that. Sure he deserved it but it just wasn’t expected from his sister. He didn’t want her to hate him.

“Then what am I suppose to do?” Lucas asked in desperation.

“How about trying and fight. There’s a chance Leo could be ok but your are only hope.”

“What do you mean?” Lucas questioned.

“They say you can heal him.” Julie informed him.

“What! Me I can’t even orb right?” Lucas exclaimed now feeling hopeless.

“You can do it! Lucas I know you can. But the first thing you have to do is at least come back.” Julie said pleading with her eyes. After a few minutes Lucas nodded. Julie smiled weakly and took his hand. She sighed knowing that this battle would be a long and hard one. And the cost of losing it was Leo’s life.

Piper sat in the kitchen stare into space blankly. The radio play softly every song seemed to remind her of Leo. She cried hearing the lyrics of each one. They

hurt so much, everything did.

“Why does everything have to remind me of him!?!?!” Piper yelled pulling the plug out of the socket.

She walked upstairs to her room where Leo was resting. He was just laying there. It pained Piper to see him so pale.

“What do I do?” She whispered sitting down next to him. She enclosed her hand around his. Leo opened his eyes and smiled weakly at Piper. The sparkle was

gone from his eyes she was loosing him.

“I love you Piper always have always will.” Leo whispered softly squeezing her hand.

“I cant live in this world with out you.” Piper cried.

“I’ll always be with you always.”

Piper layed her head on Leo’s waist and sobbed herself to sleep. Leo stared at Piper lovely as long as he could. Finally he was not able to keep his eyes opened.

“I WAS SO CLOSE!!!” Mark yelled in the darkness to Leo’s whitelighter room. “If that stupid whitelighter hadn’t shown up Lucas would have killed himself. Then Leo would die for sure.” He hissed cursing himself for not doing the job.

“WHAT ARE YOU STANDING AROUND THERE FOR?!?! AS LONG AS LUCAS IS ALIVE LEO CAN BE SAVED!!! NOW GO AND KILL HIM BEFORE THAT HAPPENS.” Mark cringed as he heard his Masters roaring voice. He nodded and orbed out.

Julie and Lucas orbed to find Prue and Phoebe on the couch crying. Well basically Prue was confronting Phoebe.

“Lucas your back!” Phoebe exclaimed pulling away from Prue and jumping in his arms.

“Oh Phoebe I love you.” Lucas whispered holding onto her tightly.

“I’m going to go see how Leo’s doing come up in about  five minutes we have to get started right away.” Julie explained heading up the stairs.

Lucas and Phoebe nodded as they held each other. Prue went in the kitchen to get a drink and give them some privacy.

Julie found Piper asleep with her head on Leo’s lap. She sighed thinking how unfair they where being. How could they keep trying to tear them apart it just wasn’t right. Hadn’t they proved their love for each other enough? Piper lifted her head to see Julie at the door. She quietly so as not to wake Leo went out into the hall with her.

“Did you find him?” Piper asked with pleading eyes. Julie nodded in response. Piper sighed in relief.

“How is he?” Julie asked afraid of the answer.

“It won’t be long now. The twinkle from his eyes has left him. He’s slipping away and I feel so helpless.” Piper sobbed.

“Leos strong he’s a fighter we can do this.” Julie whispered as she hugged Piper. Piper smiled weakly and return and thanked her.

Prue, Phoebe, and Lucas joined the two girls. Lucas could feel the coldness coming from Piper. He knew she held him responsible for this and he didn’t blame her.

“Lucas is going to have to go in there alone and heal Leo.” Julie informed them knowing he wouldn’t be able to do it with them breathing down his neck. Piper sighed as she watched Lucas go in by himself. She felt like tearing him apart if it wasn’t for the fact that he was Leo’s only hope.

“Leos life rests in the hands of a whitelighter who doesn’t know what he’s doing.” Piper muttered to herself. He can do it Julie whispered hoping she was right.

Lucas stared at Leo in the bed. He looked awful and it was all his fault.

“Ok Lucas Julie said to think positive don’t blame yourself. There will be plenty time to do that when he’s ok.” Lucas stated trying to follow her advice. He sat down next to his older brother. Another wave of guilt washed over him. “Oh god Leo I’m so sorry I love you please forgive me.” Lucas said tears staining his cheeks. After getting no reply he close his eyes and placed his hands over Leo. They started glowing with a

radiant gold light. Lucas could feel the power surging from him into Leo.

“Not so fast there.” Mark muttered as he orbed in next to the brothers. “This is all my fault. Look what I have done to him. How can I even go near him after this? I’ll never be able to heal him never. I screw everything up.” The glow faded as these doubting

thoughts raced threw Lucas’s head.

“No! I I can heal him!” Lucas exclaimed.

“Who am I kidding? I’ll never be able to help Leo. All I’ve ever done is cause pain. First I got my mother killed. Then our father turned on us and then Leo almost beaten to death. That was all my fault. And now I’ve gotten him hurt again. Why should people around we have to pay this price? Who next perhaps Piper…….. I’m going to kill Leo’s love. Or maybe Prue…….. Phoebe will fall apart without her…….. Or

maybe even my own love. I can’t risk Phoebes well being. If I stay I’ll only hurt them. I have to leave now. End it all before its to late.” Lucas let more tears fall his mind told him this.

“I have to end it, it’s the only way to keep them safe.” Lucas repeated. He then orbed out.

“Something’s not right.” Julie said running into Leo’s room. “No Lucas!” She yelled to the blue orbs.

“I know he couldn’t do it damit!!!” Piper yelled falling to the ground.

“Can you find him?” Phoebe asked hopeful to Julie. She closed her eyes for serial minutes.

“Errr he’s cloaked himself from me.” Julie replied throwing her hands up in frustration she was so sure she had gotten into Lucas. Why had he all of a sudden

run away again? Was it just because he couldn’t handle it? No that’s not it Julie thought not letting herself go to that. I felt the power surge threw him something

happened to him. Julie looked around the room looking for any clues.

“God Leo I love you.” Piper whispered wrapping her arms around him.

“Damit a darklighter!” Julie exclaimed pointing to the black dust that was left behind from one. “Why didn’t I feel him? Errrr stupid emotions got in the way.”

“Come on lets try the crystal and map.” Prue suggested helping Phoebe and Julie out. She left Piper to be with Leo.

Mean while Leo was in a lighted room waiting for all his soul to leave his body. He was still clinging onto life with all his strength but he had to let go some. Leo was watching everything that was happening from the heavens.

“THIS ISN’T FAIR! YOU CAN’T LEAVE LUCAS IN THE HANDS OF THAT  DARKLIGHTER!!! PLEASE JUST LET ME HELP THEM PLEASE!!” Leo yelled up to the bright gold lights that circled around everywhere. “PLEASE ITS BAD ENOUGH YOU’RE RIPPING ME FROM THERE LIFE!!!” After getting no response Leo become frustrated. “WHAT YOU WANT TO LOSE TWO OF YOUR WHITELIGHTER!?!?! GOT OF YOUR HIGH

PEDISTALS AND LET ME DOWN THERE!!” One of the lights came down closer to Leo. It talked to him with ringing noises that only a whitelighter could understand.

“We will let your astro form go down there to help Lucas.” It stated.

“Thank you so much.” Leo replied back as he felt himself dissolving.

Lucas stood in Leo’s room once again. It was even darker than before like everything knew what was going to happen. Lucas stared down to a picture of them when they where kids. He had managed to keep one after all these years. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he remembered how simply things where when they where young. Although that was pretty much a false statement. Things had never been too simple in their family. Something always had to go wrong.

“And everything that goes wrong is my fault.” The darkligher whispered into Lucas’s thoughts. Lucas nodded pulling out the gun from his pocket.

“The only way is to end it.” Lucas muttered pulling the gun up to his head.

“Yes this is it the only way.” The darklighter repeated grinning.

“No it isn’t.” Leo appeared.

“Ahhh what are you doing here?” Mark exclaimed.

Lucas pulled the gun down as the magic the darklighter was weakened. Leo blew a gold dust towards the darklighter. It surrounded him lighting up the entire room. Mark screamed in agony as the gold lights exploding. Lucas looked on in amazement as the

darklighter disappeared.

“Leo….” Lucas choked turning to his brother. Tears once again spelt out.

“Nothing he made you think was true.” Leo stated.

“I’m so sorry I know you don’t trust me and I don’t blame you. I’m sorry I never wanted to get you hurt. I know you’re disappointed in me.” Lucas sobbed dropping the gun. He fell down to his knees and put his head in his hands. Leo knelt down next to him feeling guilty for making him feel this way. So much time was lost

because he couldn’t have forgiven him.

“Lucas I do trust you. And I don’t blame you for any of this. Everything happens for a reason. I’m not disappointed the only way I could ever be is if you had given up your life. Just don’t give up and ill never be disappointed.” Leo said hugging him. “Lucas

your going to have to be strong please. When I die Piper, Phoebe, Prue, and Julie are all going to need help getting threw it.”

“Leo I’m not you. I’m not that strong.”

“No one asked you to be me. Just don’t give up. And know that all the awful things I said I never meant. I was just angry. I’ll always love you.”

“Leo you can’t go. Piper needs you, Julie does and so do I.”

“I’m sorry I love you and tell Piper I love her two.” Leo replied as he disappeared in a gold light.

Lucas sat on the floor sobbing. Why did they have to put them threw this.

“Even when you’re on the verge of dieing you still manage to save me. I can’t even heal you.” Lucas muttered. “What I don’t understand is why you keep

saving my butt.” Lucas sighed looking down at his hands. A new feeling of love and strengthen filled him. “I can I will heal you Leo. You’ve save me to many times its my turn.” With that Lucas orbed back to the manor.

Piper sat next to Leo tracing the outline of his face. She wanted to remember everything about him. Not forgetting one little detail. Piper cried for she knew

she would never get to kiss him again. Tell him how much she loves him; just be able to hold each other. It was all over they took him away from her.

“I’ll always love you. Forever.” Piper gentle kissed Leo’s lips for the last time. Blue orbs appeared and frighten Piper. Lucas appeared in front of her. She looked at him with angry eyes.

“What are you doing here?!?!” She yelled.

“I have to do something.” Lucas replied feeling all of her anger.

“Well it’s a little late for that. He’s already gone. You could have healed him before but you you left.” Piper cried out getting all her frustration out.

“I’m sorry.”

“Sorry won’t bring Leo back nothing will you cant now!”

“I have to try.” Lucas stated pushing past Piper.

Lucas knelt down next to Leo and put his hands over him. He closed his eyes and concentrated hard. Piper looked on knowing nothing would happen. She wanted so

badly to believe he could do it. But she couldn’t not to be crushed when he didn’t.

“Leo come back to us.” Lucas muttered.

He reached deep inside Leo connecting with him. “Please Leo.” Both Lucas and Leo glowed a bright gold. It seemed to light up the whole world. The glow faded and Lucas fell back onto his knees sighing heavily. Piper watched not knowing if it had worked. The color returned to Leo his eyes fluttered open.

“Leo.” Piper choked feeling tears of happiness well up. She pounced on him hugging him tightly.

“Forever.” He whispered.

“Forever.” She repeated threw her sobs of happiness. Lucas looked on in joy.

“I knew you could do it.” Leo mouthed to Lucas. After almost a half hour Piper finally released Leo from her death grip.

“I’m glad your ok.” Lucas said as the two parted.

“Me two. But I wanna get out of this bed! It feels like I’ve been in it for weeks help me out here.” Both Piper and Lucas laughed.

“Here I’ll help you. We have to tell Phoebe, Julie and Prue.” Lucas said helping Leo up. Leo leaned most of his weight on Lucas. Piper came to his other side and wrapped his arm around her. Piper and Lucas helped Leo down the stairs.

Julie, Phoebe, and Prue where all talking in the living room. Julie stared wide-eyed as they came down the stairs.

“Oh my god Leo!” She exclaimed. Both Pheebs and Prue turned around.

“Your ok!” Phoebe said jumping up. Prue also stood smiling.

“I’m so glad your ok.” Julie said hugging him.

“I’m glad Lucas saved me I didn’t want to leave you guys.” Leo stated as they helped him sit down.

“I knew you could do it.” Phoebe whispered into Lucas’s ear. They kissed passionately wrapping their arms around each other.

“Are we going to let them beat us here. We’re suppose  to be the cutest couple around here.” Piper whispered into Leo’s ear. Leo laughed and pulled her into a passionate kiss.

“Oh brother.” Both Prue and Julie sighed looking on.
