Justine Henin defeats Babara Schett in two sets (7/1/2002)

Second-seeded Justine Henin beating Babara schett of Austria 7-6(3), 6-3 in the first round of Adidas International tournament in Sydney.

After an early break, Justine couldn't hold her own serve when she was serving 5-4 and the set was tied 5-5, then Justine broke back to take a 6-5 lead but was broken again. Justine won the tiebreak 7-3.

In the second set, both players held serve until Justine was leading 4-3, then Justine could break Schett and hold her own serve to win the match.

Her opponent in the second round will be Conchita Martinez of Spain. Justine leads the head-to-head 1-0 with their only meeting in last year's Wimbledon where Justine won easily 6-1 6-0. They also played in last year's Federation Cup on clay, with Justine winning in three tight sets after Martinez had a lead of 5-1 in the final set.
