Children in the Night

As the sun sets into the sea
The sky darkens with glee
The dreadful daylight has fled for now
Leaving the world to be filled by night for awhile
As the dark deepens into solid black
The children start to emerge into the night
Lithesome forms dance beneath the moonlight
While pale skin softly shines against velvet darkness
To them the world belongs during the midnight hours
As they show their delight at the absence of the light
And while the darkness grips the land
They wander the earth like lost souls
Until the daylight does return
They feast upon the pleasures of the night
And when the first rose tint of light hits the sky
They retire to the darken corners to hide
There theyll dwell while the sun burns the sky
Till the day fades once more into night time
