Kaisho Kenpo Karate is a distant cousin of the Kenpo Karate system developed in the U.S. by the late Grand Master Ed Parker, in the 1950's. Senior Instructor Felix Bishop (5th Dan, A.M.A.) has been an independent practitioner & instructor of his own Kenpo system for 11 years, having previously been a student of Master Bob "Grey Wolf" Rose (10th Dan). While Kenpo Karate teaches traditional moves such as blocks, punches & kicks, these are simply foundations upon which the rest of the art is built. Students are also self-defence techniques as a means of increasing their vocabulary of motion.
An important aspect of Kenpo Karate is that, while all students are all taught the same system, each student adapts that system to form their own style. For this reason, Kenpo is called a "Perpetual Art"; it adapts to suit not only each student that learns the system, but also to fit the times. Thus Kenpo is always a practical & relevant method of self defence.
Kenpo Karate helps promote awareness of dangerous situations, teaches modern self defence & helps students to become stronger, fitter & to grow in confidence through continued training & interaction with other students.
"Zen is not confined to any particular country or people. Void of prejudice it simply seeks to instil intuition and enlightenment to those willing to accept it"
"Mastery of the art comes when the tiger is seen but the dragon prevails"
