Play Time

            A little boy came home from playing baseball with a disgusted look on his face.  His mother asked, “What’s wrong?”

            “  I was traded, “ he grumbled.

            “  That’s ok.  All the big league players get traded.”

            “  I know.  But I was traded for a glove.”

            A retired professional football player became a representative for a large corporation.  At a district sales meeting, the manager was berating his staff for poor production.

            “ These figures are unacceptable.  Not one of you has performed up to company standards.  No one is irreplaceable you know, “  he scolded them.  “  Ask Brian.  He played professional sports.  High profile players are traded all the time.  Tell them Brian,“ he directed the player.

            “  Well, “ started Brian, “ usually when the whole team is faltering, they replace the coach.”
