Have you see those wonderful commercials regarding tobacco on television? TRUTH commercials, I call them because I don't know what else to call them. At the end they say "Your daily dose of TRUTH", so that's what I call them. But I have a new, more accurate title for the commercials. "Your Daily Dose of Propaganda"

In my opinion, this whole TRUTH campaign is a joke. Even if "Big Tobacco" will not take responsibility for tobacco dangers, there is enough research available for people to make a decision themselves. If people want to smoke, strike one up for natural selection, we don't need them anyhow. If someone is killed by second hand smoke? Oh well, the world won't end.

It is not as if people don't know tobacco has consequences. If I want to sell arsenic tablets for human consumption, it's not my fault if someone dies from eating one; I only sold them, they chose to buy them. One commercial which I particularly dislike is the "Cigarette smoke contains 101 poisons while rat poison contains only 1" Can you say "Propaganda"? So now if a kid eats some rat poison, its all their(TRUTH'S) fault in our mad Politically Correct society. Only in America can you get sued for your product doing what everyone knows it does, such as suing handgun manufacturers.

So basically, if people want to get cancer from smoking, leave them alone. If someone wants to smoke and they don't know it causes cancer, they're stupid anyway. Everyone knows the dangers of it, so why don't they tell the TRUTH about something that is actually not known? How about the fact that you shouldn't believe everything you see on TV just because a bunch of popular looking kids are showing fancy looking statistical information. By the way, I don't smoke, I just believe in letting nature weed out the people who aren't smart enough to make their own decisions.

One last thing about the poor tobacco plant. It seems that it is possible that tobacco plants may help scientists create a vaccine against AIDS. I got this from the AP(Associated Press):

"Researchers at CropTech Corporation, a biotechnology firm, are working to genetically alter the leaf(tobacco) to clone a protein found in two strains of HIV. "When the protein, gp120, is given in a vaccine, researchers say, it could prompt the body to develop a resistance to the disease."

HA in your face, anti-tobacco, politically correct, little bitches!*
