About planets, signs and houses...

Many times before I have found myself in a position of having to explain to unaware people what exactly is a natal chart... I saw them looking at my piece of paper wondering what this is all about and what kind of magic this piece of paper could entrap... After many fatal attempts to explain this in asrtological terms I decided to use a metaphore... "Horoscope is like a theatre" I began my presentation "and planets are supposed to be the actors... and like actors have a certain chemistry when playing together so it happens with the planets too... when they have aspects between one another... Like a theatre thouth actors have to play some roles... (although I've seen plays where actors play themselves...) These roles are actually the signs the behaviour of which the planets have to pretend to adopt... Last but not least the whole scene sometimes plays an important role... the settings...where will the quarell between husband and wife take place? In the bedroom or in the living room in fron of everyone... These settings are made up by the houses, where the whole thing takes place..." That's how I always try to describe what planets, signs and houses are to someone's life... Feel free to suggest you own teaching methods...
