1990 Nissan 300ZX Daily Maintainance log --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12/20/2002 Well, The driver door has finally been ajusted after 13 year's or so. It took me all day but i got it right finally. Had to bore out the hole's on the door hinge's to get it just right. And As you expected, fix one thing it just lead's to another. Once the door was right, the window was missaligned. Due to the quality of my Nissan that only took a minute. I had to make a little wedge to stop the window from going up to far. the stock ajuster's we're just a little to short. I also noticed the little plastic covered window guide was damaged. The plastic has fallen off and the metal has chipped the glass and ate up my tint. Another progect another day...Oh....and I also removed the broken key from inside the driver door lock that my beloved Angela broke off the first day I picked up my Z. 12/29/2002 Today went to take her for a drive. The battery was dead. Pulled it out stuck it on the charger. Reworked baterry cable conector's. Just because. Checked air filter's. O.K. Battery tray was rusted out bad. Almost to late to save. I painted it with a thin layer of black asphalt roofing cement. It should never rust again. When warm its like paint. When dry's like rock and it will stay on fabric for year's...I know, I've learned buy experiance. Also seen that I need those little rubber bushing's on that hold the air filter cover to the nose. The air box is missing a clip and i believe 2 bolt's of some sort, and a rubber bushing for the bottom of the air flter box. I believe they are K.&N. air filter's. Removed the disconected car control box. I guess ill find out if it will start after the battery is taken care of. Off to a good start i see.. One good note. Angela (My Love..) Bought me a bunch of tool's for Christmass. Im sure they will bring much PLEASURE... 12/30/2002 Pulled out this car control modual. After a little dik'in around, I figured out the 2 large yellow wire's coming out of each side were ignition. Connected them and it started right up..I was tired of it falling down and hitting my feet Remnant's of a car long past...Removed the Stillin rear wing. It was falling off. Dont know how it is realy sapose to go on but mine is with a couple of screw's and some 2-sided tape...Should have just "Used that gum they's wasa chewin'". I notice underneath the spoiler is a plactic trim panel. I would like to keep one there, Mine was smashed so i removed it leaving metal and hole's. Im going to "Fabricate a mounting system" . Without any gum or duct tape. Have no clue how to do it...Anywho. 1/9/2002 Well..It was warm enough for me to go outside today..Spent 5 dollar's on hood lift rod mount's..Now that isnt bounceing and ratlin around..Sort of attached the rear wing. It was falling off. The double sided tape came loose. Havent quite Figured out what to do there yet...Going to put in this old dash mounted EQ/Amp. I like having an EQ in my car's.Took it for a drive.. Ran like complete crap..For some odd reason it wont coast. It will keep trying to rev. the gear up to speed than drop and rev. and repeat untill i give it more gas or i let off the gass..If I drive it in cruise it run's better but has sudden and unanounced idle drop as if the gas cable is disconected..Bizzar...Anyway...next time i turn it on it will probobly be fine again...oh. the trancmition check light blinks one long blink and 16 short blinks of course there is no code that goes that high so i back to zero there.. 2/6/2003 Was finnaly warm enough to go outside..I removed the gage assembly to try to figure out why the odometer would'nt work.. I guess the dealer took the screw that is also a contact marked "O" out of the back of the gage pannel thus inturupting the connection..Transfered a differnt screw from a none essential part and it work's fine.. Am now going to trouble shoot the Heater aka (Auto Amp). Im almost possitive the computer is shot..I have power to it and the connection is good from it so that's where I stand.The bottom bolt to the driver brake caliper fell out and I ordered a new one of those. Never had that happen... 3/16/2003 Was finnaly war again..again..Went out and put the brake caliper bolt on. And cleaned the rim's today..I also found out thatthe exhaust tip's arnt black, they are stainless steel...... After about an hour scrubbing, they look as good as new.. 3/17/2003 WAR_________________________ 3/18/2003 I have been fired at work... My90Z on hold untill further notice.......................................... 6/18/2003 I have under great duress, successfully moved to Florida. Have found a great job as a residental electrition..I am currently behind 808 dollors at the end of July. "I WILL HAVE IT PAID, WITH AN EXTRA PAYMENT BUY JULY 31st." Untill then EVERYTHING will be on hold. I will die before i give up my car...
