As I was learning more and more about the history of Volkswagens, I learned through a website www.thesamba.com that you can find information abou your Volkswagen by simply providing the VW Wolfsburg Museum your vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Indentification Number). They can trace in their records your vehicle's original color, date of production, interior upholstery color/shade.
They charge about 40 US Dollars for the certificate, this already includes shipping and handling, and it takes about 60-90 days processing. I got mine in less 90 days.
