On August 22, 2001, my mother lost her battle with Breast Cancer. During her illness I felt completely helpless as I watched her health decline. I witnessed a vibrant, active, loving woman slowly fade into a fraile shadow of herself. After she passed away I was still left with this feeling of helplessness until I discovered the Breast Cancer 3 Day. Through this event I have found hope. Hope, not only for myself, but for everyone who is diagnosed with breast cancer. As well as hope for every family that is supporting their loved one. There are no words to describe the emotions and thrill that walking with thousands of women and men, all united in the same cause, can bring. The Breast Cancer 3 Day is an event that has forever changed my life and I hope to be able to participate in another three day walk in the future.
