Yeah, so i know i havent been to a show in like forever.. but thats what happens when you go to college and you have no money and/or transportation. But this show was pretty cool. When i went back to Buffalo for break i heard that two of my friends bands were goin to be playing at a battle of the bands concert.. and since they never cost a lot i decided to go. The original plan was that my friend lauren was goin to drive there and whatnot. Well that didnt end up happening cuz there was a storm the night before and her car is a boat and wouldnt be to safe in the snow. So she didnt end up goin but i still wanted to go.. so i bugged my dad to take me. I ended up goin there with jason and we where the first ones there cuz my dad hadda drop us off early. We saw Eric Craft (his band -The Examples) and Josh Wypij (the Rejex). Eric hadda set up and we couldnt go inside yet so me, jason and wypij were just talkin about how dirtay jason is now. i went into the place expecting not that many people to show up and not that many good bands. But i was wrong. When the first band played there were like 5 people in the whole place but later on people just started comin in and it filled up by the end of the night. The Examples went on around 8 ish. They had a pretty big crowd. People moshing and whatnot. But when they explained their name there were some people who had to be stupid about it and say things like 'i love satin' and stupid crap like that. grr. But they were AWESOME and i loved the whole Rejex Reunion on stage. That was great. Then later.. about the second from last band. My best friend for like 4 yrs.. matt koziol<.. and his band were up. They are a mix between like heavy metal and a bit of powerman 5000. Deplore!!! (listen to them at MP3.com) Alright.. i just have to say.. they were the best band there by far ! They had the most people moshing.. cheering between songs.. and just goin freakin crazy. And the lead singer.. who is extreamly cute by the way... was in a Santa suit for the holiday season. Jason was up front part of the time they were playin all head banging and pumpin his fist. But after they played and they were done putting everything away... i told matt that he was freakin awesome and they had the biggest crowd by far. And no one in that whole place booed or had any stupid comments. Not like earlier in the show when two kids came out and played their freakin bongos. Even like old people who were there were jammin to them.. it was just great to see all these kids just go crazy over a local band that they probably havent even heard before. i thought it was just awesome. But after i talked to matt i wanted to go.. i didnt even wanna hear the last band.. it might have ruined the night if i did. So me and Jason left.. said bye to everyone that we knew and hadda look for my dads car in the lot after we got outside. Then we just went home. All i gotta say is that Deplore just made the night. There were other good bands that played, dont get me wrong. And The Examples rawked too. But i have to say Deplore was just great!!!! LOVED THEM! peace out girl scout |
