Back in school now, I would much rather be working somewhere or attending college than going through another boring highschool year. At any rate, I should be doing one of those things soon enough, so I might as well enjoy having not too many comitments and obligations., Rob got a 250f, Luke isnt doing much racing and niether am I. I would've liked to have done a lot more racing this summer, but due to the lack of money which was going towards my truck I havent been able to afford to race. I am going to try and actually seriously train over these long cold depressing months when I cannot ride, and try to comeback next year and race minimaly a full series. I took a bunch of pictures of Ben A, Jim C. and a few others at Hunt. I have to get the film developed and then I will scan them in at school. Im defenitly looking foward to seeing them!
Check back at the end of the week

Gese, summer is running away faster than Kevin can take away Ricky's winning streak! The Fair Ground Supercross race has already been completed. It was a good night of racing, my favorite was watching the fast 50's $90.00 take out award race. Props to those who went out and raced! (Luke and Rob) Luke finished Second in the first heat then Fourth in the main event as he doubled just about everything out there. I lost count of Robs score, but he defenitly stepped it up by the end of the night and was doing most of the jumps. To anyone else who raced, thanks for providing the great show! See ya next Sunday at Palmyra!

SILVER SPRINGS RACE REPORT JUNE 29,2003

Well, we arrived at the track early to get our regular spot as always. The day was looking pretty good, despite some rumors I had heard about morning and afternoon showers! I was ready to go and so were the other riders. I would estimate 400 riders give or take.

Practice started off as usual. The track looked decent from the eyes of a not-yet educated Silver Springs racer. I have never seen a track so muddy from the watering crew, as I did today at Silver Springs. I felt like I was at Frozen Ocean racing in the pouring rain! It might as well of been pouring rain, I dont think roost stopped falling untill the late bikes finished their 2 laps.

Unfortunitly Open Novice, (The class I ride) is in the back of the schedule. My bad luck began as the clouds starting rolling in, about 2 races before my normally scheduled class.(My first moto began around 3:00 p.m.) As it began to pour slowly my adrenaline which actually lasted untill my first moto despite it being a good 3-4hours away from when I had practiced, started to dimminish. Out of courtesy for the little guys so they could get home and be refreshed for a hard day of playing in the sand or whatever dream life the little guys have after racing they ran all the little bikes in between Open Am & Open Nov. By the time I got to my first moto, the track was just about under water. Not giving in easily, I went out despite the underwater track.... I ran a 1/2 a lap in 4th place and I made the mistake of stalling my bike. After the other 13 riders passed me I managed to get my bike started. I worked my way up 3 spots and ended up with a 14th. (Not what I was shooting for)

About 2-3 hours later, time  for my second moto! Im excited, the track managed to dry up decently and it looked like a lot of fun.  I Came up with a decent start, running about 13th out of the second turn.. The track was awesome, I felt awesome, I was having fun again! I stepped things up for sure in the second moto, doing every triple but the one before the finish line. I was gaining on the riders in front of me, like a freight train. The 450 was shinning! Knocking posisitons off left and right, high and low I found myself running 7th with one lap remaning. The 6 riders in front were bundled up, and I had my eyes on the leader! I could do it, as long as I kept up with the pace I was going and didnt have any mistakes. Going over the Double to Triple then to the Triple my rear tire found a rock the size of a human head and kicked my rear end out as I went skying over the triple with my rear end high and out from the impact of the rock. Only to land on the ground with no bike and doing summer-sault type movements on my face. After getting myself and my bike off and out of the way (onto the side of the track) I began trying to shake off the crash... I felt like I bit my tongue in half, bit right through my gums, my eye felt like someone punched me and I felt dizzy. I decided to head in, as I must of been trying to shake off the crash for a few minutes as I heard the gate to the next class drop. After waiting for that class to clear I headed off to pack up and go home.

Im planning my revenge on motocross next week at Hunt. (haha) Well thats racing for ya, everybody doesnt do it for a reason. I had fun despite a rough day, I'll be back next Sunday!
