Mars Needs Women

A combined StarGrunt and modified Full Thrust scenario by Steve Barosi and Martin Connell

Hi - You will note there are excessively more photos for this game than any other. During the ride home frpm GZG-ECC 9, Steve and I decided we wanted to put on something spectacular for GZG-ECC X. We abandoned a smaller StarGrunt based Mecha game we had been working on (which will probably appear at GZG-ECC11) in favor of this bit of madness.

The game scale is 15mm. The ships and the mantaray flyers move and shoot via Full Thrust rules, British automatons and Highlander hang gliders move by Full Thrust fighter rules, troops on board use StarGrunt rules. All the Martian figures are by Black Hat purchased through Scale Creep, some are modified. The Brits are Essex. All ships are scratchbuilt except the large guns on the British ships which were purchased from the London War Room.

I'd like to thank Scale Creep for the support they provided with some odd figure combinations. (Yes, I still bought them so don't bug them for freebies). If Mars is your thing, give the Black Hat figs a look or any of the other cool lines Scale Creep imports to the US.

I took photos during some of the construction that you can find here, and a Gallery of beauty shots here.

A Martian skiff - fires a #2 battery beam weapon and carries a mixed squad of four rifles and four swords.

A close up of the Marrtian big ship, the Xanthe. It features (3) #3 batteries, (2) #2 batteries, and two squads of elite warriors.
