Once Upon A Time in Lancaster County

A Cine-Grunt scenario by Stuart Murray

The bank in flames and the stagecoach gone wild. The game is in 20mm and the stagecoach is a plastic kit.

Most of the buildings are Musket Miniature.

The arrow points to my character, Al Doubleday, at the feet of the preacher post-smite.

The bride and her crew commandeer the real payroll. So much for Clint's mens's mission!

All these shots are taken at pretty much the end of the game. My brain was elsewhere during the con when it came to photo taking. Stuart's scenario revolved around two factions: Clint's, comprising Clint (the mine owner), his immediate henchmen, and some outlaws hired to help out, versus the miners and townsfolk. I played one of Clint's men and it was our job to get a phoney payroll from the stagecoach and into the bank, while secretly getting the real payroll from the train station to the bank. My men got waylaid by the preacher's crew and sent to the church for a turn to repent. Meanwhile our whole mission was rendered moot by the miners blowing up the bank. My character took over the stagecoach to mow folks down. I jumped from the stage to beat on the preacher, but he smite me most righteously. Most entertaining figure was the jilted bride, who was all over the board seeking revenge and causing mayhem.

A longer view of Stuart's beautiful layout.
