Luke 13: 10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. Jesus was TEACHING in the synagogue when he saw the woman (who also was in the synagogue). The woman represents the people of the church who have been bound by Satan...they have been deceived by his ministers of "light"...by the wolves in sheep's clothing. These ministers "oppress" them....they are spiritually poor and needy...they are lacking spiritual food and water...and they are NOT aware of their position.. The woman was bent over and could not lift herself up....likewise the people of God can not rise above this situation. It takes the coming of the Messiah who teaches the people the way out..who leads them to righteousness...he forgives people of their sins...he sets the people loose from the unjust stewards over them. The woman is at the synagogue too...she is there to HEAR the teaching of Jesus...this represents the people in the church who hear the voice of the Lord...who is knocking at the door. 11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. She was bound 18 years....this is how I see it: the number 18 consists of the numbers 10 + 8. Satan has kept the people of God (representing the number "8") "bound" for the "10". We can see this in Revelation: (Rev 2:10 KJV) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. The prison term is for "ten" days for the people of God...the tribulation under the oppressors of the wicked church leaders (wolves in sheep clothing). After the ten or on the tenth, the people are let loose from the bondage. The woman was bowed over and so are the oppressed in the church....the oppressed of wicked church leaders do not receive spiritual food for their spiritual condition...they are prisoners and don't even know it....YET! The Lord will let the prisoners out....he will open their eyes to the truth of their condition ...to lead them to righteousness and the truth of God's plans will be known....He RAISES THEM WHO ARE BOWED DOWN...just like the woman!!! What a picture indeed....the Lord knows everything! Psalm 146: 7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners: 8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous: The Lord has the day of atonement on the tenth day of the seventh month...Praise God of the heavens and the earth!!!!!! (Lev 23:27 KJV) Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD. The Lord atones the sins of the nation of Israel...the sins of those who repent of the Christian church and of the Jews. Satan was given the power to make war against the saints: (Dan 8:24 KJV) And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. There are many, many scriptures reinforcing this: Notice in Daniel 8.....starting in Daniel 8:10 of all places, coincidence? 10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. Satan has cast the people of God (the host of heaven and stars) DOWN (they can't rise up like the woman who was bent over by Satan). 11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. 12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. He makes war and overpowers the saints in "church" of all places: (Psa 74:7 KJV) They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. Isaiah 63: 17 O LORD, why hast thou made us to err from thy ways, and hardened our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants' sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. 18 The people of thy holiness have possessed it but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. 19 We are thine: thou never barest rule over them; they were not called by thy name. Satan uses his ministers to deceive: (Mark 13:22 KJV) For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall show signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. Luke 13 continued... 12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. 13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. 14 And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Messiah loosens his people from the clutches of the wicked (loosening the ox or the donkey from the stall) and Jesus leads them into the knowledge of God's will (leading him to watering). The people will PRAISE GOD FOR HIS REDEMPTION! 15 The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? This theme of loosening from the stall is also reflected in Malachi....the Sun of righteousness arises (in the morning) with healing from the tribulation of Satan's ministers over them...they are lead to righeousness ....they shall GO FORTH from the stall...from the oppressors who are drunken in the night: (Mal 4:2 KJV) But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Luke 13: 16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? The 18 who die because the tower at Siloam fall on them Here we see "18" used also....it represents the people of God (the number "8") at the end of the bondage of Satan (10 days) who don't REPENT of their ways...of their idol worship in the church. The second death has power over people at this time...it is a time to seek God and REPENT! (Rev 2:11 KJV) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. Luke 13: 3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Those 18 did NOT repent...they were sinners who were at Siloam....which was the pool created by Hezekiah's tunnel which diverted the waters of Shiloah from the Siloam spring to a place less vulnerable to the Assyrians...who were the enemy. This means this is the time when Jesus is knocking...it is the time his voice is calling...it is the time he is loosening his people who have ears to hear...it is the time that he is leading us to the living water....the water that the enemy does not understand. The wicked (who refuse to repent at this crucial time) in the kingdom of heaven will never understand: (Dan 12:10 KJV) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. There is a call to repent: (Ezek 18:21 KJV) But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. He will not have the tower fall upon him....he will not have part in the second death. (Ezek 18:27 KJV) Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. But if those in the church do not repent....the second death...it is truly FRIGHTENING: (Psa 145:20 KJV) The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy. |
