Name: Itto
Age: Young.
Gender: Male
Appearance: He has a very ambiguous appearance at first glance. Small
and skinny the way most children were, with a high physical capacity
because he learned to walk before the rest of them, his skim is
slightly pale, slightly tanned as a child’s can be. With longish pink
hair that is streaked the pale cotton candy kind to the deeper rose, it
is natural in the sense that it isn’t dyed. However, someone must have
manipulated his DNA because you don’t usually get such a pink when it
comes to hair.
A round face, large eyes that seem to dominate it in a soft brown black
shade, it sometimes gleams gold, as if it’s not really brown but just a
deep, deep shade of gold. A bit mysterious, there is something
guileless in his eyes, something fascinated in the world around him,
the way a baby can behave. However, there are those few instances when
it seems as if he has more on his mind that simple examination.
Dressed in a cross between a large t shirt and a simple white dress, at
first it seems like a dress, making him a curious spectacle. While no
one really knows what it is, it is so much a part of him that no one
can really say anything about it.
Personality: Itto behaves like a old man who has been given his youth
again for a second time, and suffers concussion because of it. Wildly
moody, he can seem like the bright child at one moment, and then say
something so off beat and serious that people don’t know when he’s
joking. Itto is innocent, because he says things without thinking of
the consequences. But he is grave, doesn’t like to insult people
without intending to and is childish enough that he is adorable when he
sulks.
Which is often.
History: He used to be an old man who would come down to Shy’s lab to
play a came of old fashioned chess. But he was growing old, going to
die soon and yet his soul was much too young to live through the
consequences. He also had regrets as well.
Once Shy heard (he had weird sources) about the Enkeyns finally coming
around (Yes, Shy likes to believe it was somehow Fate trying to be nice
to him after all those years of pain) and that he might be able to send
a bonder, he had taken the old man aside, asked him for his favorite
color and…
Well, there he was. His old name had been Itonko. But it was much too
serous for a boy with pink hair.

“So…” someone stood there, moving from foot to foot, as if the little
dance would solve everything. “What is it?”
“I’m not exactly sure.” Someone else murmured quietly, so as to spare
the feelings of the… well, thing.
“I think it’s male.” One announced.
“Naah…” The Enkeyn tilted it’s head. “I’ve never heard of a human male
that wears white dresses like that.”
“Have you heard of a human male with pink hair?”
“…”
The ‘thing’ they were discussing, was –as best as can be concluded- a
young boy. Small, and looking to be about ten to twelve years old,
there was both a physical immaturity in the long limbs and large eyes,
as well as a mental kind. The boy was sitting on the ground, pulling
out a spear of grass at a time and looking so wholly engrossed that the
Enkeyns didn’t know exactly how to approach him.
Or at least, that was the excuse they were using. Never let it be said
that they were afraid!
Merely they just wanted a better idea before they approached this… one.
“Itto” someone called out, and the little boy looked up, pink hair
falling over his eyes in such a becoming fashion that someone let out a
‘awww’ in response. Dressed in something close to a white dress, or a
very large singlet with… well, ribbed sleeves, he looked up, dark brown
eyes brightening.
“Shy!” his voice was capable of speaking, and there was none of that
baby drawl that children seemed to have at young.
Someone, a tall slender man/woman (what was it with these mortals?!)
approached him, scarlet and green cheongsam seeming a clash of colors
as he reached down and picked up the little boy. “You promised me you
wouldn’t run away like that.” He chided.
Itto grinned, a little twist of the lips that had character, and age.
“I know.” He said. “I didn’t run away.”
“You could have been lost.” Shy said quietly, chiding the boy for
correcting him.
Itto shook his head, sending a lock to fly into his eyes. Pausing for a
moment, he parted his hair and peeped through his fringe with a smile.
“I was safe.” He waved in the direction of the watching Enkeyn’s. “See?
They were looking after me.”
One of them started, caught. Young, the male Enkeyn looked over. “What
do you want?” he asked, curious despite himself.
Shy smiled, bowing his head. “We received notice that you were having
five of your young attempt bonding, and were welcoming potentials…?” he
let the words waver, not because he was unsure but because he was like
that.
Someone snickered. “Boy, how old are you?”
“Twelve.” Itto replied promptly. Clinging to Shy as if the man was his
entire life, his eyes were sparkling, and for a moment gleamed gold.
“Jus what are you?”
“Mortal.” He answered promptly. “One of these days I will die.”
What an odd way to answer a question by… Shy smiled.
Shy was a genetic scientist from the Vella Crean, one of the first to
publicly label himself as. He made his living splicing and creating
creatures out of a few cells, as well as donations from other
creatures. His time was often consumed by the work of creating
creatures for himself, rather than other people. A trade mark many of
his creatures shared was a odd twilight golden cast in their eyes,
sometimes completely apparent and other times just a flash when the
light hit them right.
“Itto.” Shy said pleasantly. “They will be your hosts, if you can stay.”
“Can stay?” Itto inquired. “You told me that if I bond, that I’ll spend
fifteen years of my life growing up again with someone else.” He made a
face. “Dragons’ don’t take so long.” He noted.
One of the Enkeyn’s made a face. What was it with humans and comparing
all others? It was so… barbaric. “We are not those dragons.” She said
stiffly, highly insulted.
Itto looked over, and climbing back down to the ground rather like a
odd little monkey, walked over and tugged at the tail. He was still a
child, or pretended to be and thus, wholly lacking in the size
department. “I didn’t mean it as an insult.” He said formally.
The boy was odd, all right.
Sitting there, as if his legs were too tired to hold him up, Itto
frowned. “I forgot how weak this could be.” He said to himself. “Do you
forgive me?”
Someone stifled a snerk. If this was a warning as to the kind of
bonders that would arrive…
But no one was listening to that one. Everyone was watching the Enkeyn
who was quite helplessly caught under the firm grip of the young boy.
After all, no one liked losing tufts of hair.
“Well” the Enkeyn said helplessly. “Let’s try you out.”

When they first met, Itto had been chewing on
the edge of a grass blade, looking around with that intensely
distracted look people like he could get. As if he was on a sugar high
and suffered from a short attention span all at once.
And then he had seen her, watching him with such steady eyes that…
Well, something had been bound to click.
Avena’anala rolled over, peering up with those large fathomless black
eyes and landed in such a way that her claws cracked on the stone
ground, causing a sharp interruption of noise that had Itto bound out
of bed, as if he’d been awake since dawn.
Well, usually he didn’t sleep, much.
“Are you already awake?” the Mountain Enkeyn inquired, her voice soft,
pleasant.
Itto peered over, rubbing that soft spot of fur between her ears, still
fascinated. “Mmhmm.” He looked around, and frowned. “I don’t sleep,
much.”
“Still?” her voice was wry, almost… grown up. As if someone had to make
up for his lack of maturity.
Itto smiled. “You only have so many days you can live. Each day is
different, so I don’t want to lose any of it by sleeping in. By…
sleeping.”
Avena’anala looked up. “But I like sleeping.” She stated.
Itto smirked right back. “I know.” He almost giggled. Almost. “I can
tell, when you snore.”
The little Mountain Enkeyn looked so insulted, that the pink haired…
man burst out into hilarious giggles.
They were an odd… coupling. Maybe there were others who personality
wise, suited the little Enkeyn more, and while some still wondered just
what had happened to cause these two to bond, no one could deny that
there was something special between them.
Itto would only laugh and say “Chemistry!” in such a tone that
Avena’anala was always tempted to bop him on the head.
Just because they were bonded, didn’t mean that they had to get along
all the time, nor that she was supposed to approve of his silliness.
“Ava.” Itto tilted his head. “Do I have to feed you” for a moment, he
giggled. “Stone?” he found it to be a fascinating, and often times
silly process.
Ava frowned. “I don’t need to be fed.” She said promptly.
She was a good, dutiful creature at times. She did everything she was
supposed to, she listened to elders and she sometimes did try to keep
her companion out of trouble.
But that didn’t mean she was perfect.
“I think it gives me gas.” She muttered darkly.
“Pardon?” Itto asked, innocent.
“Nothing~~”
