About the Story
Keep moving, keep moving

Her name used to be Anjeli.

One day, her father told her a story about a fairy living on the moon, that a long time ago, his mother, a beautiful princess from a faraway land had escaped to this moon to hide from his oppressive father. She told him that while his father was a cruel tyrant of an emperor, he had beautiful eyes… and now, the little boy had beautiful eyes as well.

Anjeli had always wanted to see this boy with the beautiful eyes, and so day after day she would ask her father to tell her the same story.

And every day, he would add more to the story. His mother was a beautiful princess, and as she stayed on the moon, she became a fairy living on only honey and rice cakes. And the little girl asked her father—is that all the little boy eats as well?

And the father said yes.

So day after day, the little girl would prepare a small cup of honey and a little plate of mochi and leave it in the garden, hoping that one day the boy with the beautiful eyes would come down.

Anjeli loved the story of the boy with the beautiful eyes, and her father used to tell her that whenever the moon was full, whenever the entire moon was visible from earth, the little boy and his mother would be allowed to come down during the night and see the world that they had left a long time before. And every full moon, Anjeli would look up into the skies and wonder if finally, the little boy would come to her.

Of course, no boy ever came to see her, and no fairy every descended from the moon. Soon Anjeli grew to become a beautiful young woman, and although many boys liked Anjeli, she would never give them a second glance. Anjeli went to college, she got her first job and only when she saw her first white hair did she start doubting the fact that the boy would ever come visit her.

So, little Anjeli married her childhood friend, a nice boy who grew up into a nice man, and they had two daughters and one son. The boy had pretty eyes, but they were not beautiful and the little girls always asked her for a story…

And so she told them. A long time ago there was a beautiful woman who fled to the moon and had her son, and he had the most beautiful eyes…

When Anjeli died, many people mourned her passing, but Anjeli looked so peaceful that no one thought that it was wrong. Anjeli would go to heaven now, her daughters said, she would go and become an angel and live peacefully.

Her son, the boy with the pretty eyes knew the truth. He knew that instead of going straight to heaven, she would instead go to the moon, and find the boy with beautiful eyes to tell him that she was tired of waiting, and she had come to see him instead.

Did Anjeli ever meet her little boy?

Yes, she did.

She went to the moon and heard the sound of laughter, and wondering what it was she went towards it. It was too feminine to belong to the boy, and too young to belong to the mother. Perhaps the boy had a sister no one had told her about? She went to the moon and found a palace, and when she entered the palace she saw the boy with the beautiful eyes.

Except he was a man now, a very handsome man.

The laughter had come from a girl sitting by his feet, and she was beautiful. Another entered, a young women carrying a basket of fruits and another carrying a pitcher of sweet wine. And no one noticed Anjeli until the third entered, a woman carrying a stringed instrument as she began to play.

And finally, the man with the beautiful eyes looked up at her, and said.

“Are you going to join us?”

For little Anjeli was not the first girl to be told of the story, and not the first one to leave a glass of honey and a plate of mochi out for the young man. He had grown up now, he was not the little boy and every so often a woman could come up to meet him.

“Us?” Anjeli asked, and the beautiful eyes closed.

“you are not the only one.” A woman said, and little Anjeli looked over to see that the palace was full of woman. Every time a woman died, they would go to heaven or hell. But some always made a detour and stayed here, with the boy with beautiful eyes forever. “We all love him.” The woman said. “And you can join us.”

And Anjeli… Anjeli looked over and realized he was really everything that she had been looking for. He had the most beautiful eyes, but she couldn’t stay with him. She was too selfish.

Anjeli was not prepared to go to heaven, and she was scared of hell. So instead, she went to…

Shy.

(Although why Anjeli believes he is not scarier than hell, I do not understand.)

So little Anjeli found a home for herself with Shy, and every full moon she meets the man for cake and tea. Maybe a little bit of honey. But definitely no mochi.

And she was fine with this, honest!

Until the day Shy said to her.

“Anjeli chan.” He smiled. “Would you like to have a companion?”

Anjeli blinked. “Aren’t you my companion?” she asked.

“Only for moon gazing.” He replied. “Would you like your own, the one who’ll be with you forever?”

Anjeli agreed.

And that was how she found herself at Driolo.

He uses his limited shapeshifting powers to their utmost to become the ultimate pretty-boy, no matter what species, and he more often then not tries very hard to win over his own /bond/ in the game of love! He's not necessarily seedy, he just hasn't learned yet that flaunting what you've got isn't always the best way to woo a person.
