Losing three games in a row, they pull themselves up off the floor to win four in a row. An amazing comeback of historic proportions. Sure, I’m talking about the Boston Red Sox, but I think we all are aware of another team seemingly flat on their backs. They have dug their hole so deep that all their goals for the season have evaporated. Each game is a season unto itself right now. They have to run a good play, put together a series of good plays, have a successful drive, make a third down stop or get a turnover.
Secure the lead in the first quarter, be ahead at half time. Start the third quarter with a 3 and out for the D and a TD drive by the offense. Build on a lead, go for the kill, block a punt and score. Put all those things together and get a win. Don’t worry about the record, or bowl games or what has been lost or what might yet be won. Just string together some positive plays and win a football game.
