Q: How can I get tickets to see the live show?
A: Give the MWL studios a call at (615) 831-0338.
Q: How do I vote for my favorite video?
A: Simple. First, create an account with country.com. This is a simple
process, and shouldn't take more than a few minutes. Then, from the front page
of MWL, click on the image that says Vote Here. Login using your account, and
then choose the videos you would like to see. You may choose up to 3. After
that, click on the button Continue To Vote. When you do that, a small box will
pop up, asking you to make a request for one of the videos that you checked.
This is optional, but if you would like for it to appear on MWL across the bottom
of the screen, that is what you want to do!
Q: What is an ideal countdown?
A: An ideal countdown is a rearrangement of the top 8 from every Friday countdown.
This is based on your personal opinion of the song. If you want, you can send
one in every Friday.
Q: Where do I send my ideal countdowns?
A: [email protected]
Q: How often is the site updated?
A: Daily, from Monday-Friday. Usually, I update an hour before the next day's
show comes on. Sure, that's lazy of me, but, time constraints can only allow me
to tape the morning replay of the episode and work from there.
Q: What are the rules concerning the retirement of a video?
A: Basically, if a video spends 65 days on the countdown, then it is retired.
However, if it spends 50 days at #1 before 65 days hits, then the video is retired
early.
Q: How many videos have gotten early retirement?
A: Only one, so far. Chely Wright's "Never Love You Enough" was #1 for 50 straight
days.
Q: I miss Amber Mogg and Lance Smith. Where are they now?
A: Well, you can catch Lance Smith hosting the Top 20 Video Countdown on CMT
(check your local listings for time). As for Amber Mogg, she has apparently
gone back to her music career (thanks to MWL 24-7 for that info.)
Q: What is the record for the most videos by a single artist to be on the countdown at one time?
A: This question has many answers. On August 30th and 31st, Toby Keith had
2 videos on at the same time, one being "I'm Just Talkin' 'Bout Tonight", and
the other being "I Wanna Talk About Me". On September 7th, Brooks and Dunn
had "Only In America" and "Ain't Nothin' 'Bout You" on the countdown at the
same time. Most recently, the king is Tim McGraw, who has "The Cowboy In Me"
and "Angel Boy" on at the same time. However, technically, he has 3 videos on
at the same time when JDM's video is on the countdown for "Bring on the Rain".
Since Tim sings backup vocals in this song, and is credited in this song for
doing so, one can argue that yes, Tim is the king, with 3 videos featuring him
in one form or another on the countdown at the same time.
Q: When did MWL start showing "The Great Eight" instead of the Top Ten, and what effect has it had on the countdown?
A: On Monday, October 15th, Most Wanted Live started showing the top eight
videos instead of the top ten, to show the videos more in full. Though you may
think this a good move, it has stopped MANY...MANY artists from reaching
retirement. In fact, as a future feature of this site, I will compile the number
of days that an artist was "Just Missing The Great Eight" with the number of
days that artist was on the countdown to see the numbers. I'm sure that many-a
videos should be retired by now, but the switch to the Great Eight has most
certainly changed that.
Q: Do you have the countdown of the first Most Wanted Live?
A: Nope. I didn't come back to doing recaps of the countdown until August 24th,
2001, when the first two videos were retired. I did a few countdowns before that,
sometime around early to mid-July, but I never got the first one.
