Willamette 6 Marshfield 5 in 7th inning come from behind victory
Willamette rallied to score two runs in the seventh
inning
to steal one away from Marshfield 6-5. Andy Maahs led off
the inning with a drag bunt single and Taylor Woodke
bunted him to second. With one out Kevan Neuhoff hit a
double to right center to score Maahs. Following a deep
fly ball out by Michael Calef, Timmy Quesenberry reached
base on an error and advanced Neuhoff to third. With
Kellen Moffatt at the plate pinch runner David Busenbark
excuted the initial steal and Neuhoff dove in safe at the
plate for the victory. Chad Parker picked up the win in
relief. Quesenberry finished 3-4 while Neuhoff went 2-4
with two doubles. Starting pitcher, Andy Maahs went 2-3
and a walk for the Wolverines. Adam Reed hit a two run
home run for the Pirates in the loss.

Wednesday, April 16
North Eugene 9 Willamette 2
North Eugene scored in four different innings enroute
to a
9-2 victory over Willamette. Leading 4-2 heading in to
the bottom of the sixth, the Hilanders took advantage of
the
Wolverine bullpen to score 5 runs to put away the
Wolverines. Tyler Woodke, Ben DeMoss, and JR Haas each
had three hits and Scott Womack collected two of the 13
Hilander hits. Tim Keller held Willamette to just two
runs on five hits and pitched out of some early jams for a
complete game victory. Timmy Quesenberry went 2-3 to lead
Willamette in a losing cause. Chad Parker wasn't sharp
but threw five innings striking out 6 and walking 1 giving
up 4 runs. Andy Maahs was on base all three times going
1-1 with 2 walks.
Monday, April 14
Thurston used 5 doubles to score 7 runs which was
more
than enough for pitcher Darrell Hunter who scattered 5
hits and struck out five in a 7-2 win over the host
Wolverines. Skip Spencer was 2-3 with 2 doubles and Kyle
Hoover added a double going 2-4 for the visiting Colts.
Thurston used a four run fifth inning to seal the victory.
Brooks Chapman started the scoring in the first inning
with a run scoring double. Losing pitcher, Andy Maahs
helped himself out with a solo home run in the first
inning and Kevan Neuhoff went 2-3 with a double for the
Wolverines.

Friday, April 11
Chad Parker allowed one earned run in a complete game
10-strikeout performance and Michael Calef hit a two-run
homer in the fifth to put the Wolverines up for good in a
7-5 victory over the Lancers. Willamette's Kenny Gebhardt
went 2-4 with a two-run double while Matt Myrmo went 3-4
in the loss for Churchill.
Wednesday, April 9
Willamette 10 , Springfield 6...
Game was moved to Willamette. Junior Andy Maahs
pitched six strong innings
and received offensive help from Michael Calef's 2-run
homer, Tim Quesenberry's 3-run homer, and Kevan Neuhoff's
3-run homer. The Wolverines built a 10-3 lead going into
the bottom of the seventh but the Millers loaded the bases
and had the tying run come to the plate before Quesenberry
recorded the save after becoming the third pitcher of the
inning.
Home Opener
March 12 Willamette 5 Pleasont Hill 3
Willamette won their home
opener 5-3 over the Billies of
Pleasant Hill Wednesday. Three pitchers combined to throw
a two-hitter and received some defensive help to hold on
for the victory.
Kellen Moffatt was 2-2
with an RBI and
reached base with a walk at a hit batter. Jacob Hughes
RBI double in the third inning was all the Wolverines
needed. Kevan Neuhoff continued to swing the bat well
with a couple of hits including a run-scoring double off
the center field fence.
Chad Parker picked up the
win
striking out five and Kevan Neuhoff picked up his first
save of the year.
Opening Day
2008:Willamette 2 6A South
Eugene 0 suspended
Willamette was ahead of South Eugene 2-0, when the rains came over at
Civic Stadium. The game was suspended and will try to be made up next
week. Senior pitcher, Chad Parker through three shutout innings striking
out 5 giving up an infield single.
The
Wolverines threatened in the first with Nick Jernberg reaching base on an
error but was thrown out on a double down the left field line by Andy
Maahs.
Willamette got on the board in the second with Timmy Quesenberry's lead
off home run to left center. Kevan Neuhoff reached base with a single and
eventually scored on a two-out single by Spencer Ferguson. The Wolverines
are at Marist
on Tuesday.
