System
for recruiting Staff
The
purpose of the system is to build up your block staff with new active residents by
helping them at first to understand what’s going on in CT, and at the same
time giving them their first job. These newcomers are looking for
someone to trust, and it’s up to you to provide this for them in as friendly
and helpful as possible. Below are the simple steps showing how we do this. You
will use this for staff hires and may want to use it as a guide for recruiting
residents as well
1.
The
BL and ND should open up 1 or more “Clubs by Invitation Only”. This way there’s
no quota on the amount of new members they have to bring into their Clubs each
week.
2.
Go
to some place where there are lots of people. Employment Office, Newcomers
Club, Plaza or Flea Market are good areas to look in. Never stay at one spot
all the time; movement is one of the keys to making this work. Ask the question,
“Does anyone want a Club Assistant Job?” Spell it completely; don’t just
say does anyone want a CA job. The new comers don’t have any idea of what this
means. So set yourself out in front of all the other people that may be there
looking for staff by being polite and explaining your self. Never try and
“save” time by taking shortcuts. You will just wind up saving yourself
from getting a new resident.
3.
When
someone reply’s, “I do” then immediately put them in PC so you will take
them off the market. You don’t want to expose them to everyone else that
will be there looking as well. It’s very important to have the one up on all
the other people looking for Club Assistants. Act professional at all times
and never be rude or impatient. Then say in order for them to get the Club
Assistant Job that these are conditions for the CA Job they must agree to:
A.
You must check into your House at least once a day to keep the job.
Security must not bust you, for Cussing, Flooding, or making sexual gestures
to another CT Citizen or you will be fired.
B.
We will be having Classes on your Control Panel, and how to get around
in CT, and basic HTML. You should plan on attending, as these skills are
needed for your future jobs in the block and Hood.
C.
After you reach 100 experience points you will be dropped from the CA Job and then be
required to take a BD job in my block so I can make room for more new people at the
Club.
D.
They must move to the Training Block. If they don’t want to do this, then say
I’m sorry but that’s one of the requirements of the job and move on to the
next person.
Note: They must agree to the above before they move to
the Block.
The
newcomer will see that you are a person that is honest and not out to take
advantage of them, and 9 times out of 10 they will say yes “I agree” and
say it happily.
Instructions
on How To Get To The Block--First you ask them if they have a pencil and
paper, and then have them write down the path to your block first. You ask
them if they know how to use the Jump Gate? Explain the Jump Gate if they
don’t know about it, then tell them your going to give them instructions on
how to get to your block in three parts and not to leave until they have read
them all. Here’s an example of one you can copy and paste for them to read.
1.
Okay
here’s how you get to the Block, first you go to the Jump Gate to your right
and click on Inner Realms. This will bring up a map of all the neighborhoods.
Then you look for one called Astrology and click on that.
2.
This will bring up a map of all the blocks in our
Neighborhood. Then look for Grid A, and look for the Block Jupiter and click on that.
3.
This
will bring up a map of our Training block and all the homes there. Look for a free spot
and click on that. Follow the prompts to set up your house and interior and
then scroll down to the bottom of that same page and click Update. If you
already have a house, your house and all your stuff will move to that spot.
To
keep from loosing the person, send them an IM (Instant Message) so they can
stay in touch at all times. Its not unusual for a Newcomer to get lost, so if
they have any trouble you will be right there to help them. By this time you
have earned their trust and they will do have made their first friend in CT.
You ask them if they are ready to go and you disconnect them from PC and off
they go on their trip.
Once
they move to the Training block meet them in their new home and take a couple of
minutes to explain the HOW DO I, and the HELP/INFO Buttons. Make sure to tell
them these two buttons will answer a lot of their questions. I always tell
them to stay away from the Flea Market until they have been here for a couple
of days so that they get used to things here. Tell them that like Real Life their
are people there that
rip off the new people. Advise them to go to the Mall to buy all their things
because the bargains may not be there but the prices are set by the Staff of
Cybertown itself. Make sure and mention that they will have 20 stores there to buy
their stuff.
Before
you meet them it’s a good idea to stop by the club and put them in access.
That way before you leave you can have them click on MY HOUSE and enter CA in
their house name. Also have them go to My Info on the control panel and update
their job so that the Club Assistant job will show next to their name. Tell
them they’re now on the payroll. Ask them if they have any further questions
and if they don’t then welcome them to their new home and excuse yourself.
All this sounds like a lot to do, but after you do it for a couple of times
you will find it only takes about 15 minutes per resident. But this is not a
time limit thing. Take as long as needed for each person to get it done.
Closing
Statement—Remember we lead here by example. No matter what position you hold
we all still recruit. I will get right in there with the BL’s, and the
BD’s and bring in new residents and staff. If you do this you will gain a high
level of respect from
your fellow workers and there isn’t anything they wouldn’t do for you.
