MUSOMA HERITAGE

Musoma is a small town on the eastern shores of Lake Victoria. Its name derives from the word "omusoma", native language for peninsula. The name was probably coined by fishermen in the old ages.

The peninsula tranverses almost the entire northern part of the town, ending at the old Musoma port, once the source of bedtime stories about lake fairies...

As school boys we used to buy story books from this building, currently housing the CRDB.

I was born in Musoma. As a boy I enjoyed swimming in the clean, unpolluted waters of the great lake.
