We listened to many of the creation stories and i wanted to pass along another native american story by the Penobstcot tribe.

It goes a little like this.........

Kloskurbeh, God or also known as All-maker, lived on earth alone before the time of people.   One day a young man, or was he a man, appeared who was born from the foam of the waves off the ocean.  Of course being the only other bean in the world, All maker made thim his chief helper.  After the two created all living things, small and large, a beautiful women came to them.  She was born of the earth plant, and the dew, and the warmth.  First mother as she was called married the chief helper and had  many children.  As the children multiplied they came to a point were there was not enough game to feed them all.  So Earth Mother made her husband kill her. then he and his children dragged her body back and forth across a barren plot of land, as she had ordered, and buried her bones in the center of the field.  Seven months later they returned and found the field green with ripe corn, and in the center, fragrant tabacoo.

I really liked this one so i thought i would share it with the rest of you.
