What is Truth in literature?
This idea of truth has been a constant theme through out class as we read the Norton Anthology of Thoery and Criticism.  "Truth is a Moblie Amry of Metaphors" (Nietzsche), or Truth is Just a Text like everything eslse (Deconstuction, Derrida), or even, "Follow the shadow, one comes to the body; Learn the figure and you will come to the truth."(Hugh of St. Victor)  WHAT DOES THIS ALL MEAN!!!!!!?
After the many class discusions about truth i have decide that truth is much like reader responce.  Truth is in the eye of the beholder, it is what you make of it.  Truth is based on everything form personal experiences to what another person tells you.  We have seen that there might not be truth in history or politics or that truth in those subjects are no truther then in poetry.  This has given me a stonger foundation for my beliefs in literature in that, who is to say that anything is true at all.  Life is a Text and you make your own truth while writing that text.  The idea of truth is a very cool thing and i look forward to see where it will take me.
