It is hard to determine what a well lived life is through the use of literature. Look at these people they seem to be happy but did it all start from a book or piece of writing? I really don't know about them but i can acount for myself. I believe that literature can help shape my life in to a well lived one. By shape i mean support or transfer of wisdom through generatins before me to make decisions that will help me lead a beautiful life. I don't think i really had a good idea of this support until i lost my best friend this semester. It wasn't till his death that i realized when reading the program at his funneral how words can trully help a person. For me the few lines of scripture on the front not only made his death real but at the same time it gave be comfort. I think this is the fisrt time that comfert feeling came from words on a piece of paper. What power we have to write something down that |

could later effect many people. When i got home from South Dakota, the realization of the power of literature and my interpritaion of it kept growing. At the time of Tyler's death i was reading William Wordsworth's Immortality Ode, which proved to be very powerful. This idea to not weep and live on through his memory helped me tremendously. The other idea was that of the philosopic mind or Jersualum(i think that is the term used as we approch mental completion). The ability to look back, smile upon all the mistakes people made, and regain that |

light is a cool idea. So i will continue to live on, mistakes and all, in a hope that someday i will understand everything. |
