Grading Spreadsheet
This spreadsheet is a modest example of what can be done to record and keep track of student performance in the classroom. It is not very detailed, but when I use this for real in my classroom, I will keep all the students’ assignments on it (unlike the lady in the picture). I included this in my portfolio because I think it is very important to keep students informed of their current grades in science so that they can get the extra help they need before it is too late in the grading period to make a difference. Therefore, I will have a spreadsheet like this one posted in my classroom (without identifying information, of course!), which I will update on a regular basis. This is a great tool for a teacher so (s)he can keep on top of how her students are doing, and, also important, keep parents informed of their child’s progress.
