| As I gaze at the Book of Life I am sent back in time To a day that I held him close And pretended he was mine A happy little baby With a smile so fine I knew at that moment I would protect him 'til the end of time As life went on I watched him grow From an innocent little baby To a child with a devilish glow He never ceased to amaze me Or be a bore This active little child This mischievous little boy As the pages in the Book of Life turn And the endless memories churn The devilish little boy of years ago Has grown into a handsome young man He's had his share of trials and tribulations But never let it get him down Instead he kept his head held high And triumphed with grace abound As I close the Book of Life I glance around At all the people who came to see him Recite his wedding vow I say goodbye to that boy I used to chase out of my room And gaze with pride at my brother Who is now a handsome groom As he holds the hand of his beautiful bride And looks at her with love and pride Another chapter is being written In his Book of Life Copyright Norma J Ludwig |
