Dr. Jane Tavernier

Director, Fredericksburg Singers

Dr. Jane Tavernier has been a member of the Mary Washington College voice faculty since January, 1998.

Dr. Tavernier received the Bachelor of Music and Music Education degree from Baldwin-Wallace College, the Master of Music from University of North Texas, and the Doctor of Musical Arts for the University of Maryland.

She is the Director of Music at St. George's Episcopal Church in Arlington and is also on the Voice faculty of Catholic University of America and Northern Virginia Community College.

Dr. Tavernier has sung with several opera companies and choral societies and maintains a private voice studio.

  Elin A. Havrilla

Assistant Director, Fredericksburg Singers

Elin A. Havrilla, the assistant conductor of the Fredericksburg Singers, is a graduate of Mary Washington College.  She taught music in Spotsylvania County Public Schools for ten years. 

She is past president of the Rappahannock Music Society and currently holds offices on both the district and state levels in the Virginia Federation of Music clubs. 

She has been teaching at the Yamaha Music School of Fredericksburg for the past eight years and maintains a private piano studio as well.
