Weeble's Story
She had spent the first years of her life as "Vixen", producing several litters for a breeder. When they no longer wanted her, she was purchased by a couple as a pet for their children. They renamed her Ladybug.
The children wanted a dog who was more active  because Lady couldn't keep up anymore. December of 2001, she lost out to a new puppy. But what she gained was a new lease on life. In January 2002 she came to live with us.
After a couple years of bulk feeding & little excercise, Lady became overweight. Her life became little more than a struggle to go out to potty & then back inside to rest. She wouldn't go any further than 10 to 20 feet from the front door of their house.
Except for the over feeding part, she had regular trips to the vet & groomer. Our work was cut out for us. We took her to our vet to be checked out. she got her shots & the heartworm test was ok.
The dieting began along with more excercise. She could only walk about 20 feet or so before she became exhausted. We would start out for a walk & would have to turn back so she could rest. We bought her a wagon so she could at least hitch a ride when she was tired.
During trips to PetsMart with the other dogs, she would have to ride in a shopping buggy. Not any more. She's loosing weight, getting stronger & really enjoys the daily walk around the block. Oh, and no more wagon rides (her choice).

Weeble's kidneys failed early summer of 2005. All our efforts to save her failed & she quietly passed to the Bridge where she waits with Spencer, Jo, Penny & all of the Bare's Den.
