EDUCATION Bachelor of Arts and Science, Lake Erie College, Painesville, Ohio Graduation May 2001 (Accummulative G.P.A. 3.5) Equine Studies with concentration in Stud Farm Management and Theories of Dressage Training WORK EXPERIENCE Knoll Farm- Owned by David and Anne Gribbons June 2000-August 2000 Working Student Position Long Island, New York Summer internship to further knowledge of a large scale dressage riding and warmblood breeding facility. Responsible for complete care of 7-12 horses on full board training. Tasks included tacking up, grooming, turnout, stall cleaning, feed, injury recognition, treatment and tack cleaning. Exchange of work for lessons, housing and stipend. Hudson Horse Company- Owned by Jim and Gail Schunck May 1999-November 1999 Breeding Manager Ravenna, Ohio Responsible for the beginning of a reputable standardbred breeding program. Educated the current farm staff to be independent in breeding their stock. Resided as an undergraduate student looking to further knowledge in breeding while having a short term committment to excellence. Managed the day to day care of 10 broodmares, five stallions, four yearlings and various recuperating racehorses on a 50 acre breeding facility. Prepared 2 yearling stud colts for breaking at Northfield Racetrack. Supervised the care and breeding book of two first year stallions. Managed care of weanlings and appropriate record keeping on all breed stock. Robin DeRue at Stallion Services helped coodinate the beginning of the breeding management system. Lake Erie College- Supervised by Amanda Kelsey January 1999-May 2000 Resident Assistant Responsible for the supervision, discipline, safety, and program management of over fifty students in residence hall. Recieved compensation for housing expenses. Lake Erie College- Supervised by Gina West Sprenger January 1999- May 2000 Student Development Office Assistant Campus awareness and promotion of activities, secretarial work, and founding the addition of a coffee shop on campus. Coffee shop turned created a place for various meeting to take place for clubs, commuters, and friends. Lake Erie College- Supervised by E.J. Giedt D.V.M. January 1999-May 1999 Internship for the Equine Reproduction Program Responsible for care, breeding (AI and Live Cover), teaching materials, record keeping, promotion of stallions and sale horses, and preperation of teaching videos. Brent Stables- Supervised by Diane Defer May 1998-August 1998 Summer Internship Chagrin Falls, Ohio Resposible for care of six stallions, ten foals, sixteen yearlings, various recuperating race horses, and over twenty broodmares.
