BEACH CLEANING
BACK
On Sunday 6th March, several of the MVS members and the treasurers' wife joined a large group of people on the south Mountbatten Beach. Joining forces with members of MCS (Marine Conservation Society), ViP University of Plymouth volunteers, and members from Maritime Plymouth we took our pickers and black bin bags and headed onto the rocks. The clean was very successful and much debris an rubbish was collected. Not to mention a 2m plastic works hut, which had found its way onto the beach?? Anyway after a couple of hours in the glorious sun we moved onto another beach at Jenny Cliff bay. After another session cleaning this beach and an impromptu football game after an exciting 'flyaway' ball discovery, we settled down for a BBQ at around 3pm arrange by the organisers as a token thanks! All in all it was a good & successful day, thanks largely to the unusually warm February weather. Enjoy the photo's!
