Our Aims |
| 1. To stimulate the interest of volunteers from all walks of life in maritime affairs. |
| 2. To provide high quality training in maritime skills to recognised standards. |
| 3. To be an interesting and useful spare time activity that is fun, sometimes exciting but with a strong emphasis on safety at all times. |
| 4. To maintain a corps of trained volunteers capable of supporting maritime authorities ashore and afloat at maritime events or emergencies. |
| The Service is split principally into three sections, Seamanship, Engineering and Shore Support. Each division of the service are lead by competent, qualified men and women, who individually have the skills to co-ordinate and pass on their knowledge to others. The Maritime Volunteer Service is recognised by Port Authorities, The Ministry of Defence, and the Maritime Coastguard Agency as a training organisation. |
