Mona Lisa In Two Cities

Gardens of Museum Delights in Paris and Madrid

Among the many reasons I found to favor the Prado over the Louvre were smaller crowds and clear views in Madrid. Although it was good to see Albrecht Dürer in the crowd at the Louvre.

Madrileño crowds enjoyed all the time they wanted to stand, even at the Prado's most popular attractions, like the Bosch room.

The abundance of standing around room makes a photographer grateful for any image that comes out relatively well focused. Solid Spanish Oak benches furnish welcome support for long exposures and sharper images. Otherwise it's hold in the elbows, exhale, squeeze.
