1.  Each quilt entered requires a separate registration form (make copies as necessary).  The deadline for registration is May 15, 2005.  The first 250 quilts will be accepted.

 

2.  There is a non-refundable fee of  $5.00 per entry.  Make check payable to MILFORD VALLEY QUILTERS GUILD.    send check, registration form(s), and a large SASE to Kathy Oehlmann, 1074 Milford Rd., Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328. Phone 570-828-2842.. 

 

3.  Upon receipt of your registration materials you will be sent an acknowledgement, a map to the show site, and two cloth labels (see no.12).

 

4.  Write the category and it’s number on each form for entry.  YOUR QUILT MUST MEET

 THE CRITERIA OF THE CATEGORY IN WHICH IT IS ENTERED.  The registrar reserves the right to change a quilt to a more appropriate category,  if necessary.

 

5.  All antique quilts, national or international ribbon winners must be entered as non-judged.

    (See no. 10).

 

6.  Professional quilters must enter categories 400 thru 1200.  AQS defines “professional quilter” as: one who teaches quiltmaking, judges quilts, sells or designs quilts as a profession, has written a book on quiltmaking, or has won Best of Show or Blue Ribbon in two or more major competitions.  We include commercial quilters.  (Being paid/compensated is a major determinant.)

 

7.  All quilts worked on by more than one person must be entered in one of the professional categories or 1200, 1300. 1500, or 100 (non-judged).

 

8.  All quilts must be completed, clean, and undamaged, free of animal hair, smoke or musty odors, to qualify for display.  The registrar committee reserves the right to refuse quilts which do not meet show standards.

 

9.  If the design and/or inspiration for your quilt is taken from a book, magazine, printed pattern, etc. please credit your source.  We would also like to know if your quilt is made from a kit or ‘block  of the month’ where the fabrics are supplied.  We use this helpful information when writing up descriptions for our viewers.

 

10.  All quilts must be first time entries to our show, no repeat performances.  If your quilted item has won a ribbon at a national or international show, we will be happy to display it (with its ribbon), but it will not be eligible for judging.

 

 

 

 

11.  Each quilt must have a cloth label containing your Name, Address, Phone no., and Title of Quilt.  This label must either be sewn securely to the back of the quilt,or marked directly onto the fabric of the back of the quilt itself.  Submit your items in a pillowcase or cloth bag with the same information clearly and securely listed on the outside.  ONE ENTRY PER CLOTH BAG, NO PAPER OR PLASTIC BAGS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

 

12.  You will be sent two (2) cloth numbers for each entry.  Looking at the back of your quilt, securely sew on cloth number at Lower Right Hand Corner.  Any label that identifies maker and/or owner must also be covered  for judging purposes.  Even non- judged quilts will use this numbering  for identification at the show.  Sew other number to cloth bag.

 

13.  All entrants are responsible for the delivery and pickup of their quilt.  A receipt will be issued for each entry delivered, and Will Be Required when you pick up your quilt. 

 

14.  All quilts must remain on display for the entire show.  Pickup will be on Sunday, June 26, 2005,  after the close of the show at 4 pm.

 

15.  The entrant is responsible for the packing, shipping, and insurance of quilts in transit.  Quilts will be accepted by mail, UPS, or in person.

 

16.  Quilts shipped by mail or UPS MUST ARRIVE NO LATER THAN JUNE, 15, 2005, and must be sent to Kathy Oehlmann, 1074 Milford Rd., Dingmans Ferry, PA 18328.  For quilts shipped by these methods please use a strong reuseable box and include instructions for return, an address label, and a check for postage and insurance made out to Kathy Oehlmann.

 

17.  Quilts delivered in person will be accepted on Thursday, June 23rd, 2005, between 3:00pm and 8:00 pm at Wallenpaupack Area Elementary/Middle School, Rt. 6, Hawley, PA.

 

18.  Is your quilt for sale?  As a service, we will display the sale price and manage the sale.  The guild will receive 10% commission from non-members .

 

19.  All items entered should be covered by your home owners insurance policy. Please contact your insurance carrier about special coverage if your quilt is especially valuable. 

 

20.  Viewer’s choice votes will be taken all day Sat. June 25th and on Sun. June 26th  until noon at which time they will be tallied. The ribbon will be displayed on the winning quilt at noon on Sun. June 26th.  All other ribbons will be displayed both days of the show.

 

21.  Your signature on the registration form signifies your agreement and compliance with these rules.
