I
will be having a fantasy football playoff challenge again this year. Not only
are you invited to play, but you are welcome to invite anyone else as well.
Just e-mail them the info. Here are the rules and regulations:
1)
Choose
a team of 17 players from the NFL playoff field, with no positional minimums or
maximums. (You can have zero qb’s or 17 if you choose)
2)
Rosters
are due no later than 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 4, 2002.
3)
You
can start the following amount of players at these positions:
·
QB’s:
up to 3
·
RB’s:
up to 4
·
WR’s:
up to 4
·
TE’s:
up to 2
·
K’s:
up to 2
·
Team
defense: up to 2
4)
Points
start accumulating during the wild-card week and end with the Super Bowl on
February 3.
5)
All team rosters and weekly scores will be posted at the following
website: http://www.geocities.com/mvp1986
I will have the opening playoff rosters posted before the first game starts and
all stats will be updated (at the latest) by noon the day after a game(s) is
played.
6)
Once
you have less than (or equal to) the amount of the maximum positional limits
remaining on your roster, you do not need to turn in a lineup, because your
players will be automatically started for you. Also, if you don’t change your
weekly lineup while you have more than enough players to field a regular
starting team, the same players will be used from the prior week
7)
Scoring
will be taken from espn.com, and all team scores will be updated for you via
e-mail. You will get a full weekly scoring report no later than each Tuesday
during the playoffs.
8)
Weekly
lineups are due to me via e-mail ONLY each playoff week 10:00 A.M. the morning
of the first playoff game for that week. (The first 2 weeks, games are on
Saturday, and the last 2 weeks, the games start on Sunday.)
9)
If
you bring in another person to play, they must be able to get me their lineup
via e-mail, as I will not take telephone entries.
10)Scoring system:
· All QB’s, RB’s, WR’s, &
TE’s:
·
6
points for ANY TD they score
·
1
point for 10 yards rushing
·
1
point for 10 yards receiving
·
1
point for each reception
·
1
point for 25 yards passing
·
2
points for any 2 point conversion
·
Kickers:
·
1
point per PAT
·
3
points per FG
·
3
bonus points for FG’s 50-59 yds.
·
3
more bonus points for FG’s 60+ yds.
·
Team Defense
·
6
points for any defensive or special teams TD; points are not awarded for offensive
TD’s scored on fake field goals, since it will be considered an offensive play.
If a defensive team takes a blocked field goal, fumbled snap, etc. the OTHER
way for a TD, it DOES count. Any TD scored with the kickoff/ kick return team
on the field will count.
·
2
points for any safety scored
·
1
point for each sack
·
2
points for any fumble recovery (special team or defensive; fumbles must be
recovered from opposing team’s offense or special teams)
·
2
points for each interception
·
Bonus points for the defensive team:
·
20
bonus points for 0-2 points allowed
·
10
bonus points fro 3-10 points allowed
·
5
bonus points for 11-17 points allowed
·
note: defensive teams will NOT be responsible for points scored by the
opposing team’s defense/special teams. For example, if you have the Steelers defense
and Tommy Maddox throws an interception for a TD, the 6, 7, or 8 points do not
count toward the bonus point amounts.
11)Money: $25 entry for each team; up to 2 entries per person. Winner takes all; if we have over 20 entries, the winner will take 75% and the second place finisher will take 25%. If 2 teams tie, the money will be divided equally among the teams tied.
12)If payment is mailed, I must receive it no later
than Monday, January 6th; if it is delivered in person, it is due
before kickoff of the first playoff game on January 4th.
13)Address to mail payment to: 21756 W. Juneau Drive,
Plainfield, IL 60544. For those unfamiliar with me, checks can be made out to
Jim Coventry. (any wiseguy who puts on the check: By cashing this check you
concede that I’m your master, or any similar comment, your check isn’t getting
deposited and you’re not in!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
14)Finally, if you have any questions about these
rules, please ask me via-email in advance if possible. I assume I’ve covered
everything, but I will ask Rob Lindeman and Terry Dennin to serve on a ruling
body should any dispute arise. If one of them are involved in a decision, I
will cast the deciding vote.
