Steering is used to control the direction of the hovercraft over any surface it moves on. Different types of steering mechanisms are used, the one which we use isthrough  the control cable mechanism which involves a bike handle controlling two aluminium rudders by means of a cable. The rudders are fixed over the casing of the fan so that the rudders direct the air that come out of the thrust fan.

       The various materials that can be used for the fabrication of the rudder are aluminum sheets, fibreglass sheet, foam, honey comb, plywoods etc.,
