Montkon, 2001 . . .

Monkton is an all volunteer department averaging about 61 calls a year, a good portion of those being EMS first response. That may not seem like a lot, but remember Monkton only has about 500 homes and 2,000 residents.

Like most volunteer departments in small communities, Monkton struggles to keep it's membership roster full. Fortunately the department has a core group of very dedicated volunteers. Some of those most active are charter members with more than 30 years of service.

Butch Dupont is the current volunteer Fire Chief.   Butch is the owner of Dupont Auto in Monkton.

The LaFrance and Brockway are gone, replaced by:

2000 PUMPER
1971 International 2000 gallon tanker
1982 International 2000 gallon tanker
1968 GMC 1000 gpm Mini-pumper with 500 gallon tank and 1000' of 4" hose on a reel
1950 Dodge 4x4 Brush Truck
1982 Chevy First Response/Equipment Van
